    Trophy Day

1/25 now. This would be the biggest bottle job in Scottish football history from here. Thankfully, it won't be and we will take our guard of honour from Tam O'Ware, Jai Quitongo and the rest of their no marks with aplomb.

  3. I'm sure that the Kilmarnock supporters use QTS (their shirt sponsors) every time that they encounter rail engineering problems. Six years of sponsorship so far. I've also heard that the Falkirk fans wax lyrical about their constant use of Central Demolition for when they feel the need to destroy buildings. How easy is this?

  4. Both the home and away crowds are very healthy by our standards. Especially when you consider the complete lack of away fans we have received this season. Actually, regular away supports of 1000 to 2000 are outstanding for a club of our size. In short, this thread this a pile of pish.

Yet another great result in Dumfries. The quality of our 3 goals were superb and our all round performance was decent. Will probably miss this away fixture the most next season.

  6. Great second half performance, on a dodgy pitch with a very strong wind sweeping across the pitch, we controlled play and totally dictated the outcome of the match. Lewis back to his piss taking best and the desire of Kyle from of central position were a joy to watch. Special mention to Bairdy who was immense at the back and to Stellios who had to come on "cold" after the injury to Eckersley. Support for the team was tremendous from both the stand and from the "drum boys" on the terracing. The talk in the car home has now changed from if to when, no pressure Jack!

In regard to them actually catching or overtaking us, yes. However, while we carry on our own merry way, what’s wrong with wanting the hapless Arabs to get pumped every week too? I’d love to see them slip out of the playoffs, go into administration, disappear into oblivion and shove their big spending on duds like Scott McDonald right up their jute and jam sphincters. I’d rather see Morton get a playoff berth. GIRFUY Lorraine Kelly.

  8. Club at the end of the seson should give the fans another target for season tickets in the west. If we hit it. No away fans in any stand other than the North.

  9. Fantastic set of results but, as far as QotS getting to the Premier League? Not for me unless that pitch is ripped up and grass relaid. I would love the powers that be to make these pitches phased out in the top flight. No chance of that I know.

  11. Ricky, I love your optimism. Too may supporters - what a wonderful problem to have !! I hope you are enjoying this season because next season (assuming promotion) won't be quite so much fun. If (surely) we do achieve promoted, we will begin next season as one of the teams with the tiniest budgets (as usual), we may perhaps have lost our title-winning and highly-regarded young manager to a bigger club as well as Morgan (and maybe a few others), we are likely to struggle to accumulate points (as usual), and our home attendances will decrease as the euphoria of promotion diminishes and defeat-fatigue takes its toll (unfortunately, as usual). Next season will begin with a groundswell of optimism from our support (myself included) but history has a habit of repeating itself. Since the 1970s / 1980s glory days of Fergie / Clunie / McFarlane we haven't proved capable of reaching the top division and then kicking on to further (league) success. I would love it to be otherwise but realistically can you see the "gloryhunter" element of our support sticking around if/when the defeats start to accumulate ? St Mirren will have to punch hugely above our weight next season to avoid being involved in a relegation dogfight. Ever optimistic, here's hoping !!

  18. There's more grass on the main stand roof than there is on the pitch at Palmerston. But I agree with most on here. I detest these plastic pitches there a disgrace. bad enough having them in our league but to have them in the SPL shows how amateurish Scottish football has become. pro game run by amateur numpties. God I hope and pray we never get one at SMP.

Well, obviously we could. But the strength and utter dominance of the last two performances combined with how much quality we have fit and sitting on the bench or in the stand would suggest there is very little chance of that happening.

  21. School summer holidays : Growing up in Paisley ( Foxbar ) we were ‘fortunate’ enough to live in Lexwell Road overlooking the ‘Red rock canyon’ , ‘Witches dens’ & Elderslie golf course meaning many a summer holiday in the Blue bell woods on a rope swing ( occasion acquiring golf balls , that may or may not of belonged to passing golfers ) The main entertainment was making a ‘Geeg’ but thinking about it , where on earth did we acquire pram wheels every summer ? Scraps of wood, u-nails, carpet & rope must of been in abundance as we could always make a Geeg, but I’ve no idea how all this stuff was readily available, did any of you ever make a Geeg ? & as you didn’t have a B&Q to nip to, where did you get the stuff to make it ?

I am guessing we'll be presented with the League Trophy on April 21st v Morton. It is normally last home league game of the Season. The Title will obviously be won many weeks before. Open Top Bus on the Saturday night or Sunday afternoon the 22nd ? Although, they might have the Bus Parade the following Sunday after the Falkirk game. ANYWAY, CANNAE FECKING WAIT

After the development of Mallan, Mcginn, McLean, McAllister, Morgan and Mcgennis do we have a next crop of youngsters that people are getting excited about?? More importantly, will any of their surnames begin with a different letter?

  26. Have followed the team home and away since 1974. Celtic fans had no problems going to watch their team until the Fergus McAnn era. Rangers fans had no problems going to watch their team until the Souness era. Hearts and Hibs have both extended their grounds to cope with demand. Aberdeen are in the process of building a new and larger stadium. Things are changing in Scottish Football. It might not have reached all of the clubs yet but they are changing. Saint's are under new and more dynamic ownership. Fan ownership and engagement has grown. Home section . Crowds are growing. I expect them to grow even more in the top lesgue and I expect us to sell more season tickets in the coming season. Mypoint is... What ideas do forum members have for increasing the number to say 4/5000? Is it pricing or are there other ways to do this? I think we will attract an average away support of around 1000 a match with more for Celtic, Rangers. Hibs. Hearts. Aberdeen Agree about the kick off times and date changes things 100 per cent

  46. I don't know what all the fuss about drinking on the train is all about we're on for just over an hour and a half. I'm not a big fan of morning drinking so hitting the pubs after midday is good enough for me. However, i don't think the choice should be taken away from people who can handle a can of beer on the journey down. The assumption from the police that every St Mirren fan is a potential Jack Daniels swilling, coke snorting junkie out for trouble is quite offensive... Put a few police on the train and chip any trouble makers off, how hard would that have been?

If you like stuff about local history and archaeology, the episode of Britain at low tide, on The river Clyde , is pretty interesting. A lot of info about the ship wrecks at Newshot Island down at Erskine. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/britain-at-low-tide
