I did a long morning’s cliff walk on Saturday at the southernmost part of Britain - The Lizard. we cut inland for a lunchtime beer to a pub that was open... but had no staff.... after a couple of minutes, we wandered on in cold sunshine, passing through a village called Ruan Minor. Mah wummin saw a sign “car parking for Ruan Minor FC”. we followed the crowd (of 5 people) who we saw parking up. A tidy wee ground, brilliant underfloorheated clubhouse with a very well stocked bar, huge slope to the pitch and amazing views across The Channel.... and I settled to watch RMFC take on Mullion. by FT there was a crowd of 60-odd. An already long story cut short - Ruan Minor won 4-0 in their black and white stripes. My new favourite team. i love fitba and serendipity.

Oh FFS Ricky, don't you start. You think that a fake drone attack has been conjured up to stop people talking about Brexit? We're not talking about Brexit because everyone is on Christmas holiday with their families and absolutely nothing has happened in the last week.

Having suffered from depression some years ago and anxiety ( which is awful ) I was thinking about pretty much anyone who may be or may know someone who is currently struggling and just needs a wee bit of a helping hand. My Dad (38) & Brother (33) both committed suicide on new years day ( several years apart ) and my wee maw (61) died unexpectedly I’ve certainly had things to think about over the years. Many of us put on a brave face ‘Aye, I’m fine, thanks for asking’ seems to be the default response when the reality is quite the opposite. As it happens, I personally really am fine, but, just wonder, I’m sure we all know perhaps one person who isn’t fine albeit ourselves or someone we know. Perhaps drop them a wee text , a call or or preferably a a visit for a wee tea over the festive season, you never know, you might just save a life. Make someone’s day, a wee card, beer, vist or hello Merry Christmas every-buddie [emoji4]

Governments, in theory, are elected to enable society to be organised in a way that protects the weaker, the chaotic among us, to be better able to cope. It should be there to help the weak. the current government is hell bent on doing the opposite. Universal Credits abused, distorted and arbitrarily removed; Disability payments stopped; Interference with the setting up of food banks then using them for photo-opps to pretend they care.... all versions of governmental neglect that push some people towards suicide and drug abuse. no need for you to “be sure” of what a government COULD DO, as long as you’re aware of what they are turning a blind eye to - just as you appear to prefer to do.

In Scotland figures show 2 die every week that's 104 homeless a year. England and Wales is 600 this year a figure of 704 deaths in one year for the UK mainland due to homeless souls. Is this acceptable heading into 2019 in one of the richest countries in the world. Or is it just a part of acceptable society like food banks have become where families and people can't afford to feed themselves. Billionaires grow each year. Sacked CEO's walk away with millions. Man U manager sacked walks away with 21 million.. Something is very wrong in our society but worse it seems to be acceptable. Thatcher must be proud , I'm ok Jack to he'll with everyone else.

I'm old enough to remember that rent prices have been soaring for decades and more than one government has been involved. When I started out I was paying about 40% of my income on rent. The minimum wage is about £7.83 per hour. For a full time job that would be about £1300 per month so in most regions of the UK a single person is going to be paying around the same sort of percentage. In that respect, nothing has changed in 30 years since I started out. My son is in a minimum wage job and is paying about 30% so he has it better than I did at his age. He has his own flat. I was flat sharing. Obviously there will be hot spots around major cities and the South West but talk of soaring rents compared to wages is a myth IMO. I can search in most areas and find something around the 40% mark. It might not be a flat on my own but when you are young you need to be prepared to muck through. All of us pretty much had to do that. If you don't claim UC then clearly working is paying off for you so I really don't know why you brought up your own situation when talking about "work pays" being bullshit. I appreciate you have to work two jobs but many of us have had to do that. My wife told me she used to have 3 jobs at one point. No idea how she managed to keep that up for 2 years mind you. The bit about your overtime is exactly my point. When you pay people too much in benefits you tie them into dependency and they understandably choose the benefits because it's not working the extra overtime. This is a terrible thing IMO and it's exactly what the Tories are trying to stop. You should ALWAYS be better off with the overtime. As for your last paragraph, you need to understand that statistics will always fluctuate because populations fluctuate. Our population has increased over the last 30 years but absolute homeless numbers are roughly the same. You have to be very careful with statistics because you can misrepresent them to suit whatever agenda you want. There's no substitute for looking at them yourself and trying to make your own mind up as I did this morning. You might make mistakes in your interpretation but that's OK. The alternative is to be fed bullshit by those with agendas.

Your quote : "Enjoy it while you can because the new youth coach in charge will not be bringing through many gems." So , the OS clearly states that Allan McManus is the HEAD OF YOUTH . Assisted by Paterson and Webster. Yes , there are other coaches involved working at all levels but you are stating that Allan McManus is not in charge and that the strings are being pulled by some , as yet un-named by you ,other person. So who is this individual ?

I am blaming the Tories for allowing the renting sector to go up to ridiculous prices. Regardless of who’s been in government before, they’ve been the main party for 8 years now and done nothing to stop renting prices skyrocketing. I don’t claim UC, but as I say I’m working two jobs, seven days a week. If I only had one of those jobs, I would have to claim UC as the money from one just isn’t enough to survive. I’d then have the problem of not receiving any more money, as any overtime I would do would just be lost from the benefits side of things, which helps the government out (I pay more tax, claim less benefit) but leaves me in the same position. If you are pointing out that we are on a par on homelessness from 20 years ago, and there has been recent rises, that tells me that somewhere in the last 20 years that statistic had improved and things weren’t as bad. Now we are back where we started because the government doesn’t give a toss about the low paid.

Stubbs did not want to get rid of them because they were injured, he wanted to get rid of them because he didn't think they were good enough. He recanted it towards the end of the window and actually stated 'I'd love to play them but they're injured'

Proven conspiracies have brought the country to where it is , the weak and naive will always accept the bullshit/fake news and ridicule what they see as a conspiracy. . One I stumbled into recently was how the British conspired with the French and Israelis to invade the sovereign state of Egypt in the hope of regime change. .Britain got embarressed , and France got talked into joining with Germany by Adenauer and both states signed the Treaty of Rome the following year , the same Treaty Britain is now trying to get out of. .

You are the dreamer Bud. I have two friends who are current employees of the Club and I sit next to an ex-employee at all Home games. A near neighbour is an ex-player who still has contacts and I went to school with an ex-chairman who I see occasionally. I am happy with my sources. But you keep on making stuff up if it makes your day go better. Just keep it to yourself.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!!! Absolutely brilliant day out yesterday. Fresh on the back of a Rather boozy Xmas day out on Friday we hit Motherwell. The festivities continued, and we ended up in the Cooper Suite with two of Santa’s little helpers in very fetching outfits. I knew exactly what to ask from Santa and Christmas came early. First, the fans. We turned up in numbers and we made some noise. Well done buds. That was a fantastic performance. Then there was the team. That was fighting spirit. No one crapped it when it came to tackles and challenges. Bairdy was bonkers, Hodson was harrying everyone and Cammy smith was stupendous. Did you see him run to get involved in the scrap on the edge of their box to win a ball he had no chance of winning and we got a great shot on goal as a result. Where the feck has that Cammy Smith been hiding all season. Welcome back. Lyness was outstanding, Hodson was something special, big Anton was a Rock. Hammil was quality and McGinn looked and acted like the captain we once knew. The whole team did us proud. Well done guys. The tactics. A few buds around me were moaning about our antics at the corner flag. We’ve all been there when Livi or Dumbarton done it to us and yes, it’s not pretty but FFS we needed those three points and if that’s what it takes carry on Boys. An ugly win in this league is better than a spectacular defeat any day of the week for me. So, congratulations to Oran and the team on our first away win. Loved the way Oran conducted the sing song at the end and Captain Fantastic. We just love to see you in front of a winning team. The wee boy who got your shirt at the end looked ecstatic but trust me, we all were. Big Anton also made someone happy with his shirt too. Big man jumped over the hoarding to deliver it too. I wasn’t sure he would make it. So, we can all enjoy Christmas, but seriously Guys you need to keep this going. We need two performances on the bounce. Keep this up on Boxing day and don’t deliver an inept performance on the back of a good result the way you normally do. Thank you Santa, Thank you Oran, and thank you Saints. It’s definitely bringing to look a lot like Christmas.

Lets see where Stubbs manages again to see what the football community think of him. If he manages again ? Stubbs for me was the worst appointment SMFC have ever made in over 50 years of watching the team. I have a hunch that Oran Kearney is going to turn out to be a quality appointment.

There's also plenty of empty houses and also land that the big 5 housing companies buy and bank without building on. Its in their interest to keep demand higher than supply as it keeps prices higher. There's no real will in government to do much about the housing issues in the UK.

Just on the Jardine, McGrain thing, it’s not like the 2 of them occupied both full back positions throughout their time with Scotland. McGrain won 62 caps while Jardine only won 38. Guys line Frank Gray and Willie Donnachie occupied the left back position for Scotland far more often in the 70s than McGrain. Also, Jardine’s last cap was in 1979, the same year as Munro’s first cap. So Jardine wasn’t really responsible for keeping Munro out the Scotland side. 1979 was the year that Munro really started to make a name for himself.
