Unless you conducted a poll of supporters this is just imagination. I attend games with about 10 others and none of us was over the moon about Stubbs but had no choice but to accept the appointment and back him. But that changed before the League Cup games were even completed.

Indeed, but it also wasn’t your average Championship either as 2 of the other 5 biggest clubs in Scotland were also in the Championship! So folk can’t have it both ways. You can’t dismiss winning the Scottish Cup whilst in the Championship cos they were one of the 5 biggest clubs and then slate him for not getting out of the Championship when 2 of the other 5 were in the same Championship! Especially when one of those 5 were part of the big 2 and the other was the 3rd biggest club! And remember, despite being one of the big 5 and despite the gap between Hibs and the OF not being that huge for the most part of a century, Hibs hadn’t won the Scottish Cup in over 100 years!

Not even close, Manley 300,000- Wishart 250,000 Stickroth 400,000 Christ knows what Archibald cost in wages. In todays money that would be over 2 million all signed by the same guy who recruited stubbs

Well I am of the opinion we will get at least a point. We are not playing badly and no team is horsing us.Perth Saints are a good side and we should have had at least a point.Yes Killie are good and are playing well but every side will have a dip in form that’s just the way it is.So come on let’s give OK our support and we will get a result. We should have had a result against them last time round but for the Tory MP guessing the ball had crossed the lineCOYS.

I'm quite sure that Flynn in particular was signed as a player who would absolutely make the step up and most of us felt this was the case at the time. The fact that he hasn't looked a premiership player at any point in his time with us is bitterly disappointing but he was definitely signed with one eye on this season.

Reality is we lost our best manager for 40 years at the end of last season and replaced him with one of our worst ever managers. OK has Stubbs' mess to clear up starting this January, if we do well this window and stay up i think we'll push on and be a lot better next season. I believe we have a very good manager in OK.

That may be true, but Hibs weren’t your average Championship side. Even in a lower league they were still one of the five biggest clubs in Scotland. The odds on Hibs/Hearts/Sevco winning the cup that year wouldn’t have been any worse than some of the lower half SPL sides IMO. The fact Hibs hadn’t won it in so long was what allowed him to ride on the glory. He still finished miles behind Hearts and followed that up by losing to Falkirk in the playoffs a year later, who would eventually get their arses handed to them at Rugby Park. The less said about his Rotherham spell the better.

Would love to know what Stubbs said in the interview that convinced us to hire him. Since hiring Stubbs, that’s now 6 players either sent back to their clubs or told they can go (until we actually terminate the contract, they will still be our players). Would it have cost us anything to send the loanees back early? How much will it cost if we do terminate the contracts of all 3? How much went on sacking Stubbs and Jackson? And presuming we do terminate Heaton, never mind the costs of that, add in 75K! I never want to admit that there’s a manager out there worse than Tommy Craig after relegating both of my home clubs, but f**k me this makes for grim reading!

You wonder how a manager can get it so wrong, when signing a player. He must have used up all his signing luck at Hibs. P.S. Am I allowed to refer to our previous manager? It would appear that he has been absolved of all blame for our current predicament by some.

Quick thinking by them, piss poor marking by us. Didn't see anyone point out that for the goal we lost Ferdinand got outjumped for the header to Watt, and Jones got beat in the air by Watt - there were other issues before the cross came in but 2 of our CB's were beaten for this match wining goal in the last minute

When people are using his shambles of a squad as a bat to beat the current manager with then it’s no waste of oxygen. I did not misquote you at all. “Forget Stubbs. Has OK really shown us anything to suggest that bringing 4 or 5 in will make a significant difference? He stood on the sidelines yesterday with his entourage of coaches and watched his team drop deeper and deeper as we inexorably sloped toward what we all knew was coming and come it did.” Forget stubbs you said that and then have a pop at our current manager because players were getting tired st Johnstone had a strong bench with players that could change the game in a positive way where we had the opposite a very weak bench. Problems lies solely with the squad not being good enough I’m surprised we are not even bottom of the league at this stage with this current squad we have done well to stay in the mix for now. People need to stop searching for excuses when we lose games let the current manager see what he can do in January and see how we get on from there.

    We are Not detached

We are where we hoped to be come the transfer window, a win tomorrow would be great. We are in touch with the other 3 teams down there and we are already seeing changes in the squad with 4 already leaving and more to follow, this will free up spaces to bring in the players that are badly need to keep us up. I'm hoping that between JN, GM, BR and OK they'll be able to unearth a few hidden gems.

I expect at least 5 new signings to come in and perhaps 10+ leaving. The squad need trimmed and the 5 new players need to be better than what we have, not an easy task,

I really would like to know why we spent 75K on a player only to let him go for nothing less than 6 months later. He was meant to have been being tracked by several clubs when he came to us so surely he could have been put out on loan to see if we could recoup even part of it.

Not me. I said at the time that being left with the choice of Stubbs or McIntyre as manager was lazy at best. It would appear now that it was incompetent. I decided, against my better judgement, to be positive and to back Stubbs and his signings, but eventually had to had to give up on that. The board made a great decision to bag Rae and made a fantastic appointment in Jack Ross. However they fucked up badly with Stubbs. You win some and you lose some. The next few months will see whether appointing OK was a good one or not.

Think we can agree to disagree on all fronts. The difference being is that these signings actually played in games. I'm not saying they were good pieces of business, I'm saying they all contributed more for the money spent than Heaton has.

Manley and Wishart both contributed to the first team, though and actually turned out in St. Mirren shirts. OK not to a decent degree but when we paid the money, it wasn't out of the ordinary for provincial clubs like ourselves to be paying a six figure fee for players. Stickroth was also a decent signing. Not one of our worst pieces of business by a long shot. We spent more on Heaton than we've spent on any other footballer in the last 30 years. We are not a transfer fee paying side any more and yet here we were shelling out and giving a lad presumably a very good wage, nice signing on fee, and spending more money on him than we probably should be on anyone who is not established. And he played two league cup games, against non-league and then amateur opposition. And that was it. His entire Saints career. I'm not saying Heaton is the worst player ever in a Saints shirt, he's one of the worst actual pieces of business though, not even in terms of return but in terms of first team contribution.

St Johnstone have won their last five away without conceding having visited Aberdeen, Hibs, Livi and Motherwell prior to playing us...…..no great surprise that they were difficult to break down, I think what most thought was that we competed quite well against a good, resolute side.

I don't remember the board being given the lion's share of the credit for a recruitment policy which saw us run away with the Championship title last season. PS Jack Ross's January 2018 window is part of the reason we are in the mess we are in just now... Ryan Flynn, Danny Mullen have a couple of years left on their deals, Hippolyte was another January signing last season. I think Jack was so focused on winning the championship that he didn't sign any players this time last year with a view to helping us step up to premiership football even though we had a healthy lead and looked a good shout for 1st or 2nd place by then.

FFS we've all known for months the team OK inherited was one of "if not the worst" in over 3O years and we've had some seriously shit teams in that time, our only hope was to stay in touch until the January transfer window and by some miracle we have, on the plus side he's got the team competitive and at least well organised from the total shambles when he took over and thank feck he brought in Anton, Jackson and Hamill because they're the reason we've managed to stay with the pack........... I'm fully expecting big changes during the TW and I also think Oran will guide us to safety, we should just be thankful that we've still in with a great shout of salvaging this season after the fcuking shambles Stubbs got us into...
