  1. In my lifetime (27 years) id say danny has been the best manager success wise and probably built the best team out of all the managers I’ve witnessed. That day in 2013 was one of the best days of my life.

It is from a twitter account with under 500 followers called "irish league insider" That is literally the only source. This thread is just further evidence that you can get idiots to believe any old shite you post online.

  4. We stay up he is going nowhere - this was his big shot at a higher level and he is not the kind of guy to throw that away. The only unknown is whether his family don't want to come - but from what I hear, that is not an issue... It is just as you highlighted - f*ksake there is even a twat on here shouting for Danny Lennon to come back to us...

  5. Charity night in Rothesay my bid won a St Mirren signd football There were only three bids more than I thought there would be. Saying that there are quite a few Saints fans over here, well four I know of. . Couple old guy's in my place today one wearing a Saints polo shirt with the Saints badge they are staying in the Glenburn hotel we taked about the Hamilton game. I'm a happy chappy. COYS.

  6. I can understand fans anger at Danny leaving mainly because the board made a right ricket in appointing Craig and subsequent bad manager decisions. If Danny had been replaced by someone like JR or an experienced manager then the blow of Danny's leaving may have been softened by those who wanted him to stay. All ifs and buts and I still have a soft spot for the man.

  7. The club doesn't need to do anything. They can't go about responding to every crackpot obscure Twitter account every time a rumour emerges. If it appears in a respectable paper over here then it will be worthy of a response.

  8. Explain how I treated Danny like shite? When Danny left a lot of fans felt the time was right, appreciated the job he did in winning the cup and wished him well. I have always supported the manager and club but the board felt Danny had taken us as far as he could and completely fecked things up by appointing TC. If he had been 'sacked' under contract I could understand your point but he saw out his contract and for whatever reason the Board wanted a change. That's football. On a final point Alex Smith won the Scottish cup in 1987. Did you see any of the football we played the following season? Smith had to go but will always be a legend for our SC win.

  9. Lennon's managerial record I'd say better than average and that he's been a bit unlucky not to get another gig with a F/T club. ******************** Our football during his tenure was mainly brutal with two good spells - the first half of 2011/12 and the spell from when Isma arrived until he got done for diving against Celtic. Technically @nedflanders123 is correct and he wasn't sacked but when your departure is announced on the Monday and your Assistant (the brains of the partnership 🙄 ) is given the job the next day it's a bit pedantic. Still he's a club legend and I'd lay down in a muddy puddle to stop him getting his shoes wet!
    2 points
  10. Bullshit. His contract was up and the Board decided not to renew it. Sacking is when a manager is dismissed within his contract period. If a player is released at the end of his contract do you think he has been sacked? Danny's time was up but Board made a right f**k up by not replacing him with the right man. The rest is history.

  12. Hello shull. Hoping there's no truth in the rumours, but if there is Jim Goodwin is the only person they should be going after. Danny Lennon is a shite football manager who got lucky with the League Cup win and only got Clyde into the play offs by shelving his principles and playing a rapist up front.

Says who? Who exactly is making these decisions? Why do they keep changing their minds and attacking those who don't instantly obey their new rule? Why is "people of colour" OK but "coloured" is worthy of the sack and public humiliation? I don't think it is unreasonable to ask these questions. I am also confused at why there is a need to even refer to the colour of someone's skin in normal day to day conversation.

  15. Kenny would have won it in 2015 if we hadn't punted him in the January (and sealed our relegation fate in doing so) but I think we can all agree that the guy who did win it that year, Aaron Woodall, is the most worthy of all the winners over the past 17 years!

Widely reported in the media today that DB has been fired from the BBC for being a filthy racist. Well I wish to publicly declare that I think this is possibly / probably a huge injustice. Nowadays the uber-politically correct have such a stranglehold on the media that there is no forgiveness for what could easily have been nothing more than an ill thought-out attempt at humour from DB. Why on earth would Baker deliberately destroy his media career by intentionally proclaiming himself as a racist ? Is it not feasible in anyone's eyes that he simply posted (what he thought was) a funny snap and take the opportunity to have a wee comical dig at Royalty ? Isn't it possible that he forgot that Harry's missus had some black ethnicity in her genes ? Nah, no chance !!! There are millions of them out there - those who seek every opportunity to be easily-offended, who will yet again claim the moral high ground and take delight in crucifying Danny Baker for what may have been nothing more than the ill-measured posting of a throw-away joke. What happened to innocent until proved guilty ?? Pisses me off TBH.

  19. A message of congratulations to the team and the management for a magnificent turnaround and avoiding automatic relegation today. Of course we're disappointed about Hamilton winning but all of the people at the club have rescued us from a seemingly impossible position in a very short time. I believe that all of them deserve our thanks for getting over this first hurdle and to not have a magnificent achievement lost in the bowels of a matchday thread or in the negativity of Hamilton winning today or any nonsense about how we've been performing recently. That's 4 great results in a row against strong opposition with plenty of late goals. That's noteworthy right there. The boys never f**king give in. That's the spirit we need from here to the end of the season and we'll be fine. Part Two is to defeat Hamilton next week and leave us with something to play for on the last week. If we do that, we can enter the play-offs (if it comes to that) with our heads held high. Despite other results, I'm buzzing today and can't wait for next week. Let's f**king do this. COYS.

  21. Met Danny a few times and thought he was a gent and very good at dealing with people . Not our best manager and certainly not our worst manager (especially considering what came after him) and gained a few plaudits including the much desired League Cup . I reckon he did have one of the best teams put together at Paisley Saint Mirren in recent times. I will always remember him as a decent individual and for all the good things he achieved for us . .

Unreasonable. f**k! 😀 That bold bit? Don't try and put words in my mouth. Naughty TPAK-thingy. No change of mind? So we haven't gone from using the word "coloured" to "black" to "people of colour" to "African American" whatever the hell that last one is supposed to mean given most black Americans were born in America. Someone is changing their minds over what words are acceptable and if I'm going to trip myself up figuring out what the appropriate words are, it would be good to know who is doing this and why. I believe Alan Hansen (might be wrong ) recently used the phrase "coloured" and was hounded for it. There were calls for his sacking and he had to publicly whip himself as a result. It was someone in football anyway. The thing about white males is that the vast majority as far as I can see display no misogyny but are being tarred by those who are. It's difficult to be a young man and see for example that young women get £2000 handed to them when they start some engineering and science degrees when there is no possibility for young men to receive that level of award. Fixed quotas based on gender (don't even get me started on that nonsense) are the same. You can't fight sexism by using sexist tools and expect no backlash. Anyway, I still think the best way to respond to the PC brigade is to tell them to f**k off and focus on actual discrimination.

And Goodie available to step in to his shoes , and have a good infrastructure roundabout him at the club . Everyone a winner . Especially if we stay up .

  29. Did you have your Eeyore specs on - most teams have looked good against Dundee recently. I'd say since we started to gel back in late February we've been fairly similar to Hamilton, defensively minded (good ol' Gus ) and lacking a cutting edge (their top scorer Miller has 5, 1 less than Jackson has for us). We looked better than them, last month, up until we got to the penalty box anyway. Won't be easy or pretty on Monday night but there's no need to build them (or Rice) up beyond their actual abilities. If anything the form book favours us slightly although for a game of this magnitude it's really about which team holds it's nerve. Nothing to fear, let's give it 110% and as ever COYS1

  35. Cannot disagree with you sentiment - we have far less to lose than we can gain... Oran has not gone for it from the off yet - so I'd be surprised if his game plan is not "let's keep it tight for the 1st 10 minutes" at least to get settled in - for we can lose the opportunity to gain if we give up goals to them while we are attacking... Like you though, I believe that if we were to get the early goal, it completely changes their game-plan and they have to come out more - so long as we don't sit back on a 1 goal lead, we must push for more. However, we need to be less predictable and go for it with sufficient cover to contain them. They are not a good side, just physical - we must give them a beating - the entire club wants these 3 points - C O Y S

I was not around for Hammarby but will argue til I'm purple in the face that it 100% won't be worse than 2010. Nothing ever will. To lose a national cup final against 9 men and have to actually face the indignity of going to work alongside cunts who watched it on the f**king telly laughing at you, and you literally have no comeback to any of their jibes, is disgraceful. Hammarby, we had no history with before or after... Big a match as it was for us, it was a throwaway tie in a tournament where we'd have lasted perhaps another round or two. We had a national cup win in our hands against one of the ugly sisters and comprehensively so. And shat the bed on a scale I hope we never have to witness again.

  42. Steve Clarke took over a Kilmarnock side in a worse position and managed to get them into the top 6 without making wholesale changes to the squad. Oran has done nothing special. Indeed, IMO we’d be safe already by now had Alan Stubbs remained.

The knockout stages have always been good, just as they were with the European Cup. It’s just those mind numbingly boring, turgid group stages they need to get rid of. The last two nights have been a bit special though. BT Sport is fairly serving up a feast of football for the viewing public. Liverpool v Barcelona Ajax v Spurs Murn v Accies mouthwatering stuff.

  50. No doubt we have fight and decent ability to stay in this league.. The Transfers when Oran came in at 1st with a closed window and in January especially have been far better than all our rivals - so we definitely appreciate the huge among of work getting these guys in... There are 2 sets of fixtures still to prove ourselves in - but we have not won enough games all season. Two wins in a trot is a big ask - but we can hope - win the 1st and we will be well up for the 2nd at Dens park. Next season, more creative threat from midfield and goals from all over required - especially up front... Delights Magennis got the goal today - he's had a tough season . . . I cannot wait for the next match - we owe Hamilton a beating . . . . C O Y S
