St Mirren v Hamilton Mon 13th May

If it was a goalkick, it’s not offside, end of debate. If it was a free kick - if he’s offside when the ball was hit, he’s offside. If he was onside for the original kick, then off when McKenzie headered it, he’s onside. It’s about the original kick here. He is not “inactive” because if McKenzie doesn’t clear it, then Accies are through on goal. Therefore McKenzie has to act to stop that from happening. It doesn’t matter if he scuffs his header, doesn’t matter if he wins it properly, he’s had to act because of what’s behind him. The main factor here is the original free kick, was he offside when that was hit? The rest is irrelevant in this specific situation. The Accies guy was the intended target so he’s most definitely active.

Do official records get kept of the away supports? Outside of the scum, Aberdeen and the Edinburgh teams, surely we have the highest? And as a percentage of our home support, surely the highest.

We will have to wait and see... will he have young lads in the 1st 11 or among the 7 subs... A good manager would want to give them some game time - but maybe after they are 2 or 3 in front...

Excellent - 11 Games with over 5,000 crowds and 8 with less than that and none under 4,000. Only thing holding us back from being higher rated in the list is our more limited possible maximum attendance compared to all but Hamilton. Good going.

This is the game footage. The incident where Jackson brought down Lexy is at 9:22. We also had a disallowed goal in the first half. Saints fans were in the upper tier of the Broamloan road end.

With Flynn and Erhahon available to start, you could say that only 2 of OK’s signings would be in the starting outfield 10 of his best side! And just think how good we’d be if OK had signed Liam Smith and played Cammy Smith. Oh wait..... [emoji23]
  8. 2 points
That’s no reason not to include Mcallister, so more than half the starting 11 were brought in by OK. If not for injuries it could have been even more. Not like you to try & push a negative agenda though... Having to change over half your starting 11 during a season & imbedding them to a point where St Mirren are one of the best performing teams in this league is a fantastic achievement.

Still be good enough to beat or at least draw with Accies. We are doing this.

First chance I’ve had to watch the highlights. IMO. The sending off was harsh, I agree with the commentators , too far from goal to be a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity. Mullen should have received a yellow for his tackle on Gordon and the big No 99 for Hamilton should have saw Red and needs to be cited for his shoulder into McKenzie .

Yeah offside is now based on phases of play. First phase being the goalies kick, Oakley in an offside position but inactive like you say. Second phase begins when mack heads the ball meaning Oakley can't be offside from a St Mirren players touch. That was the rules anyway, unsure if they've changed again though.

    Oran

    I got a bit perturbed at this article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48240461 Of course on face value taking all Oran's games in charge is relevant in the overall picture of the season, however, I think it is much fairer to take their (Rice and Oran's) stats from the same point as the transfer window closed and Rice arrived at the Hammer throwers.. and took full charge - so from February on. So instead of Rice's Points per game average being nearly double Oran's - here is what it actually is since the transfer window closed - AND look at the goal difference too :- Rice Kearney F A Pts F A Pts Fakes 2 1 3 Well 1 2 0 Hibs 0 2 0 Dons 2 2 1 Rangers 0 5 0 Hearts 1 1 1 Dons 2 0 3 Livi 1 0 3 Well 0 3 0 Killie 0 1 0 Hearts 1 0 3 Fakes 0 1 0 Killie 0 5 0 Dee 2 1 3 Livi 0 2 0 Tic 0 2 0 US 1 1 1 Them 1 1 1 Well 1 1 1 Livi 3 1 3 Livi 3 3 1 Fakes 1 1 1 Dee 1 0 3 Well 1 1 1 US 0 2 0 Them 2 0 3 F A Pts Pts per match F A Pts Pts per match Totals 11 25 15 1.15 15 14 17 1.31 Add in our win at Dee and their defeat to the Fakes and it will be even better . . .

The thing is it could be any area of the ground as the touchline mics pick up a lot of the things being said/shouted. I used to have my telly connected through a home cinema app and it was funny hearing the swearing coming through the surround speakers behind me, not particularly loudly, but creepy when there was a lull in the game punctuated by a "you're a prick" or similar coming from over your shoulder and there's no-one else in house

It’s not what you say being fact (although often in other circumstances it is not) it is your relentless need to put a negative spin on things. In the last 10 games an average of 5.6 players have been OK signings. That is a considerable high number for a manager in a job for nine months and one transfer window. It also isn’t ironic in the slightest, There was never a plan to change the full 11 starting players. We had decent players that OK is getting much more out (Flynn, McGinn & Mullen For example)

Just saw this. Only times in 30 odd yr I remember is the cup final 2005 whatever it was called then and everyone was late. And last year Tannadice midweek when we could have clinched it. And that's why we were at Perth an hour before KO a wee while ago!

My recollection was ( bearing in mind I was only 10/11 so correct me if I'm wrong ) but following a 2-2 draw, we head to Castle Grey Skull. I think we 1 up and then have someone cleaned out by their keeper possibly Somner or Bone it should have been a straight red, probably got away with a stiff talking to, they equalise only to have that wee c**t John McDonald come off the bench to do what he did best i.e Dive inside the box for the inevitable penalty. Not change there then eh?

It is a joke, though. That's the point. Anyone who thinks that they can go through their life without being offended by something is a moron. If you're offended then be offended. It doesn't hurt you, you don't suddenly wake up the next day with leprosy. Nobody can offend you unless you choose to be offended. What offends one person may not offend another. I'm offended by boy bands, FFS. Will they be banned?

Lyon's ran down the right until he had nowhere to go and had a header. He did absolutely nothing apart from that, he is as bad a footballer as i have ever seen. He can't tackle, pass or shoot. We are only scoring once he goes off and make substitutions...dreadful player...

    Where To Eat This Monday.

Was with two guy's who wanted a stone baked pizza in the last post. While I can enjoy a Pizza - in the last post you ain't getting a freshly made up and baked pizza. Out voted for a disappointing soggy pizza. Will try a couple of Indians next season. What a change in Paisley for the better the town has a good feeling about it has found a new identity. Vibrant cafes, great pubs, student feeling to the town just a good feeling about the place I live somewhere else but I'm a Paisley boy and proud of it the dark clouds have lifted.

I need to apologise for my earlier slur on the whiter than white Gypo community as it turns out the group I was referring to actually prefer to be called “Showfolk” . So i would have to amend my question to say , what if I was to say that the group of showfolk I know are dirty ,smelly, untrustworthy ,thieving ,tax avoiding , illiterate scum . Would that be offensive ? btw , these showfolk regard the wonderful upstanding citizens previous referred to as Gypos as all of the above ...... f**king racists !!

Why we will be in the playoffs

I did mention this earlier as a concern However to counteract Fakes have lost local derby v Dundee and will want back with United or even Caley Wright hates plastic pitches Fakes are a far better team than Accies Wright will want as many points as possible Irish connection - Wright/ Kearney/ Nicholl I am clutching at straws This thread is paranoia

    Ryan Flynn Signs

THIS ^^^^^^ or THESE ^^^^ Flynn has proved these last few months what a clever and good player he is. Must hope, though cannot presume he will be resigned for next season.. McGinn does play far better with him and Magennis in the team too... McAllister's best game for us last night - hope he has another like it for the Dee game too.
  39. 1 point
The Fakes are a physically strong outfit too. Best team in the bottom half and no decent footballer wants to play without trying to win. Win bonus and finishing the season on a high and get this plastic pitch out of the top league etc etc. There will be a few Fakes players still trying to get a contract for next season too... I only hope they don't play too many inexperienced players just to give them 1st team experience...

I dont know how well it came across on TV, but anyone who was there last night cant have failed to be impressed and inspired to see so many groups of youth/kids teams sitting in the family stand. Getting excited, shouting, singing and celebrating! surely we, as the support need to lobby the board and say.. "that crowd, that atmosphere last night, with so many young people made welcome and involved.... thats the future of SMFC..! Our Town, Our Team and Our People. Stage that for every home game." that stand, and the area behind it should be sacrosanct as a fun, involved and safe place for all the youth, youngsters and families to attend EVERY game. Do that ticket deal for every game. We as the support do not care if you make another £30k selling the seats to sectarian, bigoted, violent thugs! We want what we had last night, and at the Dundee and Livi games every time. The club has to commit to building the support, and that cant be an on/off commitment depending on which racist support is in town. "Build it... and like last night.. They Will Come... in spades"

I find myself in agreement with the middle bit of your post and I have cleverly put in bold in that part of your post in order to make the middle bit of your post more obvious in order to assist the readers eye in locating the part of your post that I agreed with. Anyway.... 1) Did he mean it knowing full well that he will be dismissed, pilloried and could even be arrested? No I do not 2) Is he some sort of "celebrity" with a large enough following that he really ought to be held to some sort of standard? Yes I do 3) Is the BBC a London centric pishbucket? Yes it is 4) Should Danny Baker be sacked for being so incredibly stupid? Yes he should 5) Would one of us mere mortals risk being dismissed from our menial and less important jobs (than celebrities have) had we tweeted something equally as stupid? Yes we may well have 6) Should lessons be learned about what we post on social media? Absolutely 7) Are people too easily offended these days? Yes they are 8) Does this fake rage somehow justify the stupidity of posting such "risqué" things on social media? No it does not 9) Is stupidity then a sackable offence? Yes it is 10) Could Danny Bakers ill informed tweet cause upset to a new mother (regardless of who she is) should that new mother be exposed to this tweet? Of course 11) Is upsetting new mothers by insulting the new born baby in any way justifiable? No it is not 12) For those fathers amongst us, how would you react if some fudbucket posted a picture of a chimp/monkey/ape insinuating that your new child looked like this chimp/monkey/ape? I would have tied him to a chair, cut his balls off and force fed them to him 13) So is Danny Baker a bit of a prick? yes he is 14) Is he a racist prick? Probably not 15) But a prick anyway? Yes absolutely 16) Does old Tom feel sorry for him? Not in the slightest, not in the slightest indeed

Educated guess. Paisley, Renfrewshire and Scotland in general is rammed with "CELTIC AND SEVCO SCHOOLS " There's your start off point. I would therefore also guess that that bigots are in.the majority in most villages, towns and cities in Scotland. I could be wrong but I doubt it. When I was at School in Renfrewshire, there was 30 Dead Club fans in my class. I was the only Saints supporter. As I said, an educated guess. What is yours ?
