It's not about an 'old' or 'new' strip, it's about IDENTITY. - what people recognized as a St Mirren strip. If the club can't come back to ask the fans their opinion on something as basic as this then the concept of community club is a facade.

Fiona's family have contacted Div. He will update funeral arrangements to him to post. Seemingly she had 4 brain hemorrhages. But she couldn't fight that so she passed away peacefully with her family around her. Her dad said she got see the Utd 2nd leg game. Which made her happy. A Saint till the end. RIP.

    Our Strip. What Next?

Why not? Community is defined by the Oxford dictionary as, 'A group of people living together and practising common ownership'. It is simply getting people involved in the interaction of St Mirren FC. It doesn't cost the club money to get the opinion of fans of the design of the strip. 'One for all and all for one'. The more fans are invited to participate the stronger the club becomes.

Your very last point has been mine since day one. Nothing! Rien. De nada. Zilch. Nowt! Not one bit if effort into incentivising our own support or building it up. No foresight. No initiative. No desire. Easy option. Easy money. It basically came down to not wanting to piss off the w7 crew so shafting the family stand instead. That simple. Not one f**k was given!

No luck mate but I'm sure you'll have a ball. After the playoffs and the almost immediate fixtures in the Betfred Cup I went in a huff over the lack of a summer break. I vowed I wouldn't be going to any games till the start of the season proper. However within 10 mins of the Ireland tour being announced the gang was mustered the ferries and hotels were booked and we were on our way. Fecking couldn't help ourselves. As we just found out life's too short mate. I'll no doubt end up at most of the Betfred games too but the plan is to give them a miss UNLESS we have exciting signings we HAVE to see. Make the most of the lakes. See you at the Betfred.

You appear to have made the same mistake as Baz. The figure for the extra fans the OF bring needs to take into account those who used to be put in W7. That drastically reduces the apparent financial benefits of giving them the whole Family Stand.

Fiona was a legend. Often met her at home and away games (she seldom missed any) and drank with her in the club and Hospitality a few times. She was a True Bud. She supported all the players and wouldn't hear a bad word against any of them. She was always 100% behind the team and the club. As a few on here have eluded she wasn't called the screamer for nothing. She was a very vocal supporter and very proud to be a buddie. Puts life into perspective I was getting all excited about a trip to Ireland and then bang. She is no more. Bummer. I don't know her family but my thoughts are with them. If Anyone gets any details re the funeral. Post them on here. Thanks. RIP Fiona.

This topic i never going away as soon as we play one of them it will be brought up again because it's not right and no amount of denial from anyone is going is change that. We're taking our family stand from our own fans and giving it to the 2 most bigoted team in Scotland, right away that should be enough of a reason not to give them it. seemingly we prefer their money to our fans coming first...this is fact.

I hope you speak the truth here as I would be very happy to see all four of those guys back this coming season. I’m not concerned about whether two of these would be loans, for me the bonus would be continuity in the squad. Still need Popescu.......... And a (15goal a season) striker would obviously be the icing on the cake ! Not concerned at the lack of updates coming from the club as I trust Gus, Tony and OK, and do believe it’s good for any talks to be behind closed doors. Although I do admit I find that frustrating as f**k !

I wouldn't class it as a mistake to not include those who used to be in W7 as I believe the choice is now a straight line between 1 or 2 stands. Having said that, if you do want to do the calculations on that basis then you are obviously correct, less extra season tickets would be required. I'm not sure how many as I don't know how many old firm fans were seated in W6/7. Incidentally, I'm not trying to argue that the extra income is substantial enough to hand over both stands. My point was more that Bazils estimated figure of over 1300 season tickets was not accurate. My season ticket is in the main stand so I'm not directly affected in terms of having to move, however having to enter and (particularly) leave the stadium through a whole host of opposition fans is far from a good experience, never mind the sporting benefits restricting them to one stand may bring. I personally believe the club should instead be doing more to encourage more home fans along and making more money that way.

Pish. I'll make it easy for you by quoting from the manifesto that the current government was elected on: "We believe that the Scottish Parliament should have the right to hold another referendum if there is clear and sustained evidence that independence has become the preferred option of a majority of the Scottish people – or if there is a significant and material change in the circumstances that prevailed in 2014, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against our will." As soon as Scotland is taken out of the EU against its will the mandate is in place.

    Our Strip. What Next?

It is "largely along that design" in as much as it is also t-shirt. Just shows you Adidas have got their moneys worth from their designers over the years. It's all in the details. Those saying "its just a strip ffs" would do well to remember the sole reason we were relegated last time round was solely and entirely due to the car crash of a strip with the illuminous yellow touches that nobody could even fit over their heid. Or maybe that was just symbolic of the lack of interest in running the club at the time... To be honest, it is an improvement on last seasons. I suppose the reason grown men get so worked up about a shirt is just simply the hope each year we might go back to the traditional black & white stripes we all fell in love with at some point in our youth. It wouldn't be that difficult, would it?

Ah the tangled web we weave....... it isn’t that long ago that one of the central planks of the argument was that the decision would be reversed........ guess it must be difficult to remember what to argue consistently when the default position is that the Board are right.

You could have saved a lot of time by simply saying Yes! You are a club apologist with a default setting of criticising anyone who dares step out of line. Whatever floats your boat. STF up hen and get on with your proper job... the one you were elected to do. Scottish electorate = 4,283,938, votes cast in EU referendum... leave 1,018,322, remain 1,661,191 = Total votes 2,679.315... which means that 1.6 million couldn't be arsed......... The same number that voted remain. Over one million Scots voted to leave. .. ... You said you wanted to represent ALL Scots... Not just SNP voters... so Nicola you can go play with the traffic... You have NO mandate for your very predictable yet tiresome response.

    Chris Froome Breaks Leg

I don't think it's clear that both hands were off the bars , most of these guys will blow their nose with one hand . The time trial bikes do have narrower bars and the deep section rims on the wheels can be dangerous in a crosswind, which sounds like probable cause. With 6 Grand Tour wins under his belt l don't think the guy is daft , but he has been unfortunate.

A couple of posters trying to rewrite history above. The SNP were largely quiet on the Indyref2 and it certainly was not campaigned on with any real vigour. Their re-election as the Holyrood government was certainly not a mandate for Indyref2 in any way, shape or form. It is just ridiculous to suggest orherwise. They should certainly run the 2021 campaign largely on Indyref2 IMO and I think they will probably win a majority anyway. Then I think they will have real democratic clout.

Fiona was an amazing woman & a true Buddie. Her screams would echo through St Mirren Park on a matchday and thus she was nicknamed "The Screamer" Pre Match you would find her in the 1877 club handing out teamsheets and chatting away to fellow supporters before she would finally sit down and have a wee vodka before the match. You will honestly never meet another one like her again. One in a million RIP Fi x

Mullen's issue is that he refuses to accept, and the manager fails to,impress on him that he is a winger! he has neither the physique, strength or guile to play up top in a lone or pairing. His game is better suited to providing good supply to a forward/forwards. His woefully poor goal return is indicative of being poor at holding it up. played on the wing with Cooke, and an established (non-hobbit) striker he would shine, and might actually get a few more goals as a consequence of the others holding it up, or cutting in on his own.
