Heard Celtic fans around me saying Jim Goodwin has them organised. We did not disgrace ourselves the back line held well with support from midfield. Obika played the lone striker well. Every sub made by Goodwin was an attacker. Heard not one bit of bigoted bile where I was sitting last night which was a pleasant surprise. We just need goals boys and girls sort that then we will be fine. Heard the Saints fans a few times so well done.

    Worst Managers ever!?!

Second only to Tommy Craig! Sorry but I can't agree with this. Yes, if the OP had intended the responses to be limited to ex-St Mirren managers then these are the two main contenders IMO. But Craig wasn't our worst ever manager. Craig was an utter incompetent, entirely clueless, and an imposter in the post. Shameless but not immoral. A shockingly poor appointment undoubtedly. But even worse was Hay. Neither incompetent nor clueless, but he was happy to do deals that were intentionally anti-St Mirren. He used his substantial player budget to sign his old pals, a shitload of ex-Celtic duds with career-ending injuries looking only for a pension boost. Unforgiveable by Hay, a piece of utter vermin.

Out with the score was very good thanks. Feeling a wee bit rough though as it turned out a late night. Stayed in the Euro hostel £30 to share a room with a mate in the centre of Glasgow is brilliant value. Team put a shift in cant ask more than that. Some of the guy's I was with have came to a few Saints games with me so they wanted to take me to last nights game they had a spare season ticket for me.

https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/in-full/jack-ross-craig-levein-thought-i-was-no-longer-a-fit-at-hearts-1-4443884 If he still has a working relationship with Budge then I think he would absolutely love to take the job of Levein and show him how to do it. For me I wouldn't mind him to take it as long as he has a start similar to the start he had with us....but then has a rotten january window.

Obika will not reach double figures he's not a natural goalscorer He will work hard and link play but he hasn't got a nose for goals Wee Junior just isn't good enough Mullen will get a goal here or there usually beauts is the best of the bunch Cooke is just too lightweight and will get injured again Our midfield apart from Andreu offer nothing to assist the goal charts this seriously needs to be looked at

Have you noticed that the moderate wing of the party has largely been purged or resigned over the last year, with another, Nicky Morgan, going today, any "moderates" left are prioritising their careers. The four senior Govt. posts are held by a chancer, a speculator and two neoliberals from Britannia Unchained, the NHS is most definitely not safe in their hands.

Oakey doesn't really know much about Football, he just comes on here for the social value

Mullen was one of out top players against Killie - so it is a fair question you ask... Clearly rested, most likely tactically as he picked Durmus and Flynn … did he have a wee knock or simply being kept from injury for the next game?? It makes sense to rotate a bit in games like the ugly sisters - it did us no harm last night . . .

First quarter over and not detached from the pack. Considering the turbulent close season we had, I'm happy enough with that. We do need to get one or two of the strikers scoring but the team is organised and playing well in every other area. I think, because of this, that we are far better off than this time last season so I'm very hopeful for a top 10 finish.

No shame in tonight's result, That's the fewest league goals Celtic have scored at home so far this season... We'll be sitting pretty after the next round of games..

I'm pretty sure the problem was with Levein. I remember an interview on the radio and he was clear it was a footballing decision made by the head of the footballing department at Hearts. Supposedly Budge has come out and said new person will report to her and not Levein. If that had been said then she is already paving the way for someone that doesn't get on with Levein to come in. You may well be ITK though and know that was just the spin he put on something else.

I nearly pished myself laughing there. I remember the UK saying that the only certain way to stay in the EU was to vote against Independence. Also, looking at the info on the link below, it would seem that a lot of the NHS has indeed aleardy been up for grabs. http://www.patients4nhs.org.uk/how-is-the-nhs-being-privatised/

It goes back to what we said in the First Quarter Points thread. Of the bottom 5 one or two will hit some form and get out of there before the next 11 games are done. If Hearts make the right appointment they’ll be one of those teams. Next concern is Hibs booting Hecky as that could be the change needed there too.
  24. 1 point
Agree 100%, they have a decent squad, a new manager, most teams get an immediate bounce, although we didn't last season. Can only see them climb the league, bad news.

That's a good point No doubt..…….. why we cant break into top six
  28. 1 point
We expect nothing but SIMPLE questions from YOU . . . IT is not like we are not making chances or getting walloped - we take a higher percentage of our chances and the confidence will grow... And of course if we don't it won't . . . I made it a simple answer just for you . . . PS - The Fakes were rooted at the foot until they mysteriously win 2 games in a row . . . and we gave them a doing. . . you think we could not pick up 6 points in the next 2 or 3 games????

This sort of thing is how elections are lost. The Tories have governed the UK almost without a break for as long as most of us have been alive and the NHS is still there. Nobody is buying into the idea that suddenly the NHS will disappear if the Tories win. It's not going to be seen as a serious message and opposition parties need to stop treating voters as though they are stupid.

    Second Quarter Points Prediction

Any win between now and Christmas becomes massive Maybe they will find someone with a pair of shooting boots in the January sales? I bet they are lookin
  34. 1 point
What okay does realise is that being a couple of games past the quarter mark makes our position more stark.
  35. 1 point
While you are technically correct, I’m sure you know what everyone means by “first quarter”. I’ll refer to it as “first stage” from now on if that makes you feel better 😛
  36. 1 point
A win for us will probably see Mr Happy Levein get his p45. Not sure if that will be the best in the long run, but would definitely be amusing and we really could do with the points. 3-2 Saints.
  37. 1 point
What exactly do you suggest we do? Start running around in panic with arms flailing and eyes bulging? Seriously, do you want our players to play with fear? How would that help in any way, shape or form?
  38. 1 point
On further analysis it's only Hamilton who play, not quite as dramatic as I made it. ha ha
  39. 1 point
Decent first half by the sounds of it and not a hammering thankfully.
  40. 1 point
The positive is we have not been humped, unlike most of the bottom 6. The negative is our goals scored is pitiful, 5 goals in 11 games. It is a bonus we are within 2 points of 4 teams. Points tally for the next quarter, oh, 10. As the post above mentions, at least one team, I believe 2, will break away leaving 3 teams after the half way point (in fact over half way) fighting it out for survival. Isn't it a worry that St Johnstone have jumped above us in a few days?

    Amazon Mugged

Noticed that when I bought something a week ago. You need to ignore the massive CONTINUE button which automatically signs you up and instead click on the tiny grey text away on the left which says something like "No I don't want to benefit from the advantages of Prime". Also accidentally clicked the damn thing a while back and it automatically signed me up. Took ages to figure out how to cancel. Don't get me started on their logout button which has or had the text "Not oaksoft?" to dissuade folk from signing out so they can freely monitor your internet usage to sell to their business clients. Scummy business practice and I don't understand why they do it. All it does is invite complaints and bad press.

Not only that but they have won once and lost twice since he left (out of the cup on penalties to Oxford) . . . Results can always be better, but they can pretty much always be worse too. JR has done himself no harm, and has a sack load of cash more than when he was with us... He will be Hearts manager before long...
