    Who's Out?

Interesting to see so many people up in arms about Mullen being told he’s free to find a new club. Christ, even someone talking about petitions for a new contract! Yes, he did score some important goals last season but ultimately he’s not going to push us on a level, and clearly down the pecking order. Telling that in the league, Cooke has been coming on ahead of him and ultimately placing him as 4th choice. He’s done a job and thank him for that, but we move on. Reaction is akin to Gareth Wardlaw leaving...

He was magnificent out wide vs Killie. With space to run, instead of holding the ball up to beat the last man, is where he seems more effective.

Isn't it possible both players have been told to find new clubs, as their both out of contract in the summer and it's Danny being proactive in making himself available. One needs regular games before end of season and it's not looking as if he's not going to get it with St.Mirren. Only my opinion.

    Poor R*ngers Theads Merged.....

When Rangers died the league said it would give special dispensation to Charles Green's brand new team (think it was the team name before sevco) to use unsigned players from the deid club as members of his team to face Berwick. The league also recognised and said that Players were no longer tied to the deid club as it had... died. You cannot be on contract to an entity that no longer exists. That was why the best players - such as Alan McGregor managed to do walking away. (Which they don't ever do, of course.) The league also said it would allow a new club sevco into the league set up at the 4th division. Despite this being against all of their rules for entry by new clubs - it had no experience, no 3 years of accounts to prove it was financially sound. The name of the new club was changed from Sevco to... well… to something that had never before been heard of! A Holding Company called Rangers International Football Club which only really ran one 'business venture' - The Rangers Football Club. This was done merely to allow known "Glib and shameless liar" David Cunningham King (who had 40 odd criminal charges against him proven in South Africa) to 'manage/own the new club at one remove. He wasn't fit to own a club otherwise. The League then recognised how deid the deid club was - by making the new club (which wasn't Rangers) play in the preliminary opening rounds of the Scottish Cup - which, if it had been the club that was deid would not have had to happen. Those rounds are for diddy cubs and new clubs. Thank you for asking what the league said and thought of the unresurrected deid club which is not the current 'outfit'. The league, as you asked, has done lying somersaults to let idiots pretend that it may be other than a dead club walking. It still isnae. I'm sure this helps.

    Who's Out?

I agree - he was an energetic, occasionally goal-scoring forward - excellent value. And seemed great fun. A good team player. I'll miss him. Perhaps... Perhaps this a great ploy by Gus, Gordon and Goodie to set off a bidding war for Danny, so that not only does Danny get maximum publicity about his multiple qualities but that Saints get some form of financial return from him before his contract runs down? I can easily see that Inter Milan and Barcelona might start outbidding each other to secure Danny's services when PSG sneak in to snap up Morelos from under their noses!

Obviously hearsay but was told that goody tried to offload Mullen in the summer, doesn’t fancy him at all and to be fair it kind of shows as earlier in the season (and even now) he opted to play anyone apart from Mullen, when other strikers where looking dung. Hope this doesn’t bite us in the arse boys scored some right important goals for us over the last 2 years. All the best if indeed true. would of thought Cooke would of been the one to go if any but I suppose he does offer physicality up there when mullen does enjoy a wee dive.

I don't remember anyone saying you can't be Scottish if you don't live in Scotland on here, antrin, not saying it hasn't been said, just that I can't recall it. What many have said, and I'm one of the many, is that if you're Scottish but don't live in Scotland then you don't get a vote in how Scotland is governed or whether or not it should be independent. Personally, I welcome anyone with that perspective offering their opinion - I may not agree with it but I do think it's important to hear. Still doesn't give you a vote, though. [emoji846] I also think 'natsis' is beneath you, I'm surprised you seem happy to use it. ETA just read the BtB wind up, ignore the first para.

I've edited my post above, to include the fact that the new club started off at the very bottom - not only in the leagues but in the preliminary rounds of the cup, which no team that had been in Europe the previous year would have had the shame of having to do. The league said that the new club had to do that. My pleasure.

He is at least open that he doesn't attend games. Then, there is Shulls's apologist in Chief.. The F Man who watches games, apparently indiscriminately and often on TV but... Does not attend. I reckon Morias gets on a lot better playing wide where he has time and space. He did get a couple of decent shots in late in the game when he moved further out from the middle. And from Saturday's brief appearance McGrath looks like he would be a great no 10 playing just off a striker.

Not for a moment saying Danny is a great striker but he is a hell of a lot better than Cooke. Cooke has had 3 League starts in 20 months under 3 different managers tells its own story. Danny came on as a sub on Saturday, scored one, made one and had a great volley on target. Cooke had come on as a sub in the five previous games and I only remember one shot on target from him. Cooke offers very little. I would punt Cooke and keep Danny for now.

Danny Mullen isn't a Premiership level striker and if we aspire to climb the league and consolidate year on year then we need to carry a strike force of a higher calibre. That said, i'm not entirely convinced Morias is any better than him.. We must have another striker lined up that is clearly much better than what we have in the squad at the moment. Good luck to Danny, he tried his hardest but unfortunately, much like Cammy Smith, the Premiership was a step too high for him.

The opposite of sequential thinking is holistic thinking and the problem with that type of thinker is that they don't do detail and they wholly depend on others to achieve things for them. This is you down to a tea. Think about your own "achievements". How much have you actually done on your own? This is why your posts are vague and of low value. It's not that you are afraid of being hung by your own petard, it's because there's genuinely no substance or depth to your thoughts. You don't know how to be genuinely creative. Don't be one of those two types They are both essential skills. Embrace both. That is the real big picture. Surprising that a holistic thinking advocate like you could miss something so obvious. When the revolution comes we'll need people who can both plan ahead for survival AND use a saw.

    Who's Out?

Gus himself just ratified that point in the recently posted interview When GM was appointed in October 2018 it GLS said it was because we had learned from the "Summer of Stubbs" and that GM was here to provide continuity, GM confirmed that the main part of his job was transfers, the continuity was clearly not there after OK left last summer - recruitment stalled & didn't really resume until about a month after JGs appointment where a different strategy of signing players on longer term contracts emerged - that GMS role seems to have been redefined from the time of his appointment only enhances my argument. Bazil85 GLS also made reference to the role not being “defined” since then we have two interviews from Gus highlighting the role is based on recruitment in advance of transfer windows, “it’s a supportive role, whatever the manager wants really” and a Q&A session saying his role will largely be the identifying and initial scouting of players before it filters through to Tony and the manager. No where in the interview following his recruitment does it say his role was “transfers” that is a complete fabrication. It’s not in the article. The constant presence was in the “football department”, again absolutely no mention of recruitment from GLS. This is another fabrication. The exact quote is "We want to have someone within the football department who will be a constant presence," he told his club website.” This is exactly the role Gus took on between managerial changes. He took training for the squad, it doesn’t get anymore “football department” than that. Gus was also appointed in September 2018, if you can’t even get basic information right like his appointment or job title, why on earth should anyone believe the rest of the baseless tripe? But feel free to challenge. Where did Gus say his job was the actual transfers of players? Where did GLS say his role was the continuation of recruitment? You’ve been caught out not only twisting content but claiming content that doesn’t exist. 5 hours ago, bazil85 said: Yeah, listened to it this morning. BTB will still try and spin out of it no doubt. Even after words from the man himself on his role 😂 I've explained to you before and it needs no spinning! Chief Scout is not how GMs role was defined at the time of his appointment - his redefined role seems to me to be nice work if you can get it. Bazil85 His role wasn’t defined at the time of his appointment. "The board have a vision of how they want the club to develop. At present, we have a plan but not the manpower to define and execute it. You have made a U-turn on players you previously argued were" key squad members" . Bazil85 No I haven’t, first of all I said they were members of out senior squad, I never used the word “key” you have directly quoted me, you are wrong. Second I haven’t made any such U turn, I have stated the squad will have been re-evaluated and my belief is now they’d benefit from being loaned. That is completely irrelevant to the status after the summer window. Do you not think things change in football? EE - Injured all of the time? Bottom line - a development player who got no game time in 5 months. Incorrect CB - Plenty of players ahead of him in his position so one 2 min time wasting appearance as a substitutes ie a development player. 22 man squad, not everyone will play, same as any team. Still part of our senior squad assembled in the summer. OD - Panic buy for the LC that we're trying to get rid of who made one 5 min appearance after JGs considered signings arrived and clearly out of the first team picture by the time I made my original post on the subject at the start of November. Incorrect, time on trial and standard of opponent debunks this. You can show nowhere to back it up Notice CM has been dropped, still no admittance of being wrong from you? (take your pick) None of these guys were in the first team picture when I made my original post in November and couldn't even get any game time in December when the squad almost buckled and as I predicted are now even further away from the first team as it increases in size - I've said being GLSs vigilante prevents you from posting objectively on the subject. Bazil85 Never claimed they were, the first team is the first choice 11 in my view. They were part of our senior squad of 22, not all 22 can be first team players, this is very basic stuff. Squad size - My point was always that it was too small (it'll almost certainly be bigger by the end of the window) and most arrived too late, leaving us in the Chairman's words "behind the curve" and what else can that mean but a failure by our TD to learn lessons and provide continuity in signings last summer? JGs arrival seems to have led to a change in our signing strategy with a trend towards signing players on longer contracts. Perhaps a more relevant question is whether GM provides an essential role in the current set-up. Bazil85 Being “behind” does not mean failure. It can mean… Behind where we want to be. Again, should Liverpool be giving back the CL trophy because they were “behind” to Barca at one point? Surely the only outcome based on your take is they “failed” to win the Champions League? You clearly hate Gus, it must be so sore for you to watch us visibly improving while he’s at the club. GLS & Goody have both spoken about his role in player recruitment positively, Goody as recently as last week lol. Still, no one has said he’s responsible for “transfers” please provide quote? In two months of arguing you've proved nothing we're just two idiots paraphrasing the same arguments and providing a degree of amusement for other forumsters, my point as ever is that GMs failed in his role as defined at the time of his appointment and that no amount of post-hoc re-evaluation of said role changes that - he was hired for the role of Technical Director not Chief Scout. Bazil85 I have beaten practically all your points by either 1. Pointing to actual quotes, 2. Pointing out where your claims are completely baseless. Ouch, only one Gus MacPherson 😃
