Even if he was a month into a 3 year contract, McGinn still wouldn't be worth 200k. Some people live in cloud cuckoo land. As for Watt it would smack of a lazy signing and fly in the face of the "systems" we claim to be using (oh and he is pretty meh !)6 points -

Quite an in depth interview on a Slovakian football site with Peter Urminsky. Running it through google translate turns up some interesting translations. Think Baz has been playing a bit too much Football Manager. I like Paul McGinn, he's a steady hand but that's all he is... as someone else alluded to, he's a solid 6 or 7 out of 10 every week. Perhaps in English football circles with him still under contract, you'd pull a six figure fee for a player like him. In Scottish football though, suggesting £200k is an absolutely wild appraisal when you consider Hearts brought in Liam Boyce (who was in the same situation) last week for only £150k. If we pull in 30-40k for McGinn and bring in a suitable replacement, it would be a decent return.4 points -

The man is a true broadcasting legend. Presenter of the longest running radio series in the world, he has been at the helm in Just a Minute for 53 years! Regular at the Edinburgh Fringe into his nineties, giving many people starting off their break via his Fringe show. I met him 8 years ago at the Fringe. Could not have been any nicer. When he found out I worked for a charity, he gave me a signed copy of his memoirs to auction off for funds. RIP [emoji25][emoji25][emoji25]4 points -

I don't think any club has ever paid a fee for Paul before so for us to get 200K is laughable. I hope he stayed since having a player that can preform well across the back 4 is a real bonus for us.3 points

The other issue is why help Hibs who are clearly looking for a RB and CB - Paul could play either one in games for them? Especially the day before we play them . . . Their defence is bereft at the moment - let them sort it out to our benefit... Paul's best asset is his versatility - he is no superstar but has been serving us well this time around . . .3 points -

Would he really? Who would pay a 200k fee for him? I think that any club willing and able to pay that sort of a fee for a RB would be able to attract a better player than Mcginn. For that money you could pick somebody up on a PCA and pay them 4 or 5k a week on a 3 or 4 year contract.2 points -

Doesn't compare with me getting a hole in one at the first at Brodie Park on the opening day of the pitch and putt season. No mean feat that. The 1st at Brodie Park was notoriously difficult to even get your ball to stop on the green, never mind get a hole in one. I've been playing golf for 47 years now to a slightly above average standard (currently playing off 12) and I have NEVER had a hole in one. I have been all sorts of close including once finding my pitch mark embedded in the cup of the hole, but never ever had an ace. I too cut my teeth on acclaimed Barshaw links (must've played there hundreds of times) and like you, the 5th was the only par 3 that I regularly came close. The second was ridiculously difficult and I don't recall ever coming close on any of the other par 3s. Very fond memories of playing there though........except for the times when you found a human shite in one of the cups.2 points -

Paul McGinn
Ayrshire Saints and one other reacted to kevo_smfc for a topic
He's now currently sitting behind Flynn in the pecking order and I couldn't see that changing anytime soon. We have also filled our centre half roles. He's out of contract end of season, not getting a game (at the moment). Jack Ross was the man that brought him to the club. Hibs could have openly looked to sign him on a pre-contract though want him now. It really wouldn't surprise me if the club had spoken to Paul about the interest and he has said he would like to speak to them. Same thing happened with Naismith, ironically the man he's looking to fill the boots of. We sold him off early to Ross County as the player was keen on the move early.2 points -

Ah. In my opinion you can't interpret much from goals against Montrose, Forfar, QotS, etc. Obika could well score a barrel load against them on a nice Autumn evening. Watt's league record for the Fakes was 22 starts, 7 subs, 3 goals. Pretty bad.2 points -

You do realise you back up my point with your response. "We could have stolen a draw" "I will be at Easter Road hoping for a point" Seeing as you like to mention league placings 12th placed Hearts defeated 2nd placed Rangers. Livingston defeated 1st placed Celtic. League positions are only a number, yesterday all Saints social media platforms were full of the league cup semi final v Celtic if we employed the same tactics 7 years ago as we do now we wouldnt have won that semi final.2 points -

Quite disrespectful of Jack 'SMTID' Ross to broadcast his discussions with St Mirren about Paul McGinn before a deal has been concluded... here's hoping Paul does a Goody, talks to Hibs and then decides to stick with the Buddies and Jack is left looking a little less gallus.2 points -
