Airdrie v St Mirren at New Broomfield on a Friday night during the millennium champions season. Basher scores o put us two nothing up, my brother punches my glasses off whilst celebrating and they fall on to the row in front - just as I'm teaching down to get them the guy in front accidentally jumps on top of them while celebrating. I spent the rest of the game trying to watch through one lens and twisted frames!! Great win though 😆

I believe our gov took that approach because that was the science that suited. If you don't test, the stats are meaningless apart from the deaths, however they are 4 or 5 weeks behind based on average length of time folk are taking to die from this. I agree on Northern Italy having a lot of Chinese coming and going, however so does UK especially at the time of Chinese New Year. However we didn't stop anyone coming back from China in the early days of this. The UK approach is different to everywhere else. That's not because its hitting us differently, it's because we are choosing to believe that we are uniquely different to the rest of the northern hemisphere. We've done nothing for 6 or 8 weeks when we shouldve been restricting travel and now it's panic mode. The US seems to be ahead of us on this, particularly when it comes to helping folk financial - that's worrying.

1989, went to Berwick for the league cup game, think it was a Tuesday night with the knox st bus, hadn't been feeling to great before it. Got to the ground, started throwing up all over the place. Got taken to hospital. Supporters bus picked me up from the hospital. Got back to paisley in the early hours. Then spent the next few days ill in bed. The end

We don't know how quickly it's spreading as we aren't testing. We only know the numbers who die - they will have contracted the virus weeks ago. Correct I'm not well most likely a cold since it hasn't stopped rainning for months

To be perfectly frank, our response is not that much different. Arguably a bit slow in implementing various measures, but ultimately the measures are the same. The Imperial collage paper uses the worst case scenarios and compares two different timings of response. The only thing mildly controversial is a suggested delay in closing schools and universities which the universities and some local authorities'devolved administrations took out of Government hands anyway.

    So What Ticks Your Box?

Why on earth is this in General Nonsense?!??!? It makes as much (if not more) sense as many subjects in General St Mirren Discussion. And I can't think of any superstition I indulge. Really. I'd never considered this before... I agree with Slarti in his non-superstitions... If one occurs to me I'll update. Good question.

So tiring. Lunatics / asylum. Our old pal Shull has almost single-handedly managed to destroy this website with his relentless shite. Who has allowed this to happen ?? Well IMO someone in charge of this website should have dealt with that attention-seeking moron years ago and taken appropriate actions if they really wanted to save the site for the sake of sensible contributors. Shull's contribution to B&WArmy for years has been nothing more than negative bla bla bla bla, anti-St Mirren propaganda. But seemingly nobody cared. Let's humour the f**k brained minicab driver. God help anybody landing at Glasgow Airport getting landed with this cretin as their onward transport. Now it's worse. Now we have Ricky. Intent on bringing attention-seeking to a new level. FFS Ricky PLEASE stop this !!! Shut down your laptop and give the human race a break from your brain diarrhoea !!!! We can't cope with your relentess pish for months until the football season re-starts. NOOOOOOOO !!!! This website is f**ked. Thanks, both of you.

    Who do you know?

I think he's posted a couple of times since then but that incident was done and dusted within a few days. Life's way too short. I periodically put people on ignore to protect my sanity but it kills the flow of the forum and right now nobody is on it. Not even the family shull. Don't actually know anyone from here in real life. I expect most people are actually pretty decent but I genuinely wouldn't want to be anywhere near a couple of them. As for self-isolating, we are trying not to as we don't have the luxury of having a nice salary coming in each month but like most businesses, our customers are forcing this on us and we've had to change direction pretty much overnight. If I am not posting in 4-6 months you'll know we ran out of money and starved to death.

Geographically, we are a little different to the rest of Europe. We have the advantage of being on an island. Of course some infected people might have came through airports, but we do have that in our favour. Fingers crossed it won't be as bad as we all fear

I prefer to think that it is Science acting as it should do. It looked at the stats and came up with what was - at the time - deemed to be the best way forward. The facts changed and - beautifully - the science was adjusted to meet the new challenge. Unfortunately, by moving from the first plan there is a downside. The new plan supresses the virus as long as people remain inlock-down. The upside is that if we can stay in lockdown for months - till an antidote is produced - then lives will certainly be saved. Downside is - it accepts that there is likely to be a second wave of infection - and that if lockdown is not maintained for many months that could result in very poor mortality figures. No. The virus is hitting different parts Of the world in differing ways. As far as I understand it, the reason Northern Italy has been hit to badly and so hard and so much earlier than UK is because many failing leather factories in that area had been sold to Chinese investors. Thousands of Chinese - from a place called Wuhan - moved to Milan and nearby to work in those factories, so sadly the virus got a head start in Northern Italy. Central London is our hotspot - mainly due, I would think, to tourists from all over visiting and staying and eating and socialising in that part of UK.

Is this the imperial college report based on a mathematical projection that the authors realised was going to result in many more deaths than they first thought? Despite multiple medical sources pointing it out at the time. We moved away from WHO and other countries ways of dealing with this based on flawed info.

    Reasons to be cheerful

This break in the league give us a chance for McCarthy. Durmus and McPherson to recover from their injuries. And Wallace look like he took a knock towards the end of the Hearts game. I think hes still a good player. We should have signed him in November when we had the chance. Anyway let Hearts and Accies worry. Coys. PS. I was in the main stand for the Hearts game. The atmosphere from the West Stand was amazing. Really were the 12th man. [emoji469][emoji469][emoji469][emoji469]

    Hypothetical Games

NEWS REPORT "Oh Corona 19, you killed the football scene and Hetrz urnae too keen" Sang supporters of Paisleys greatest ever sporting institution to the tune of Come on Eileen at the Fegie dome today. What was the occasion? Well after much deliberation and shite hawking in the corridors of power those few SFA blazers who survived the Corona 19, or as it has become know the "e-plague" pandemic (after academics discoverd it could actually be spread by e-mail) have finally reached a decision to relegate Heart of Midlothian to the championship. In a meeting that only last month began with the 21 "blazers of power" in deadlock finally ended at lunch time today with the three remaining living blazers voting 2-1 in order to relegate the team left bottom of the pile by the remarkable Job Obika. Such was the tension around the decision that supporters of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co first team playing squad gathered at the Fegie dome as St Mirren chairman Alan Wardrop addressed the excitable crowd. The new Chairman, following Chairman Scott vacating the hot seat to run as a Conservative candidate in one of the many seats vacated by dead elderly Tories following the e-plague, Chairman Wardrop compared himself to Cesear himself. "Friends, Buddies, Countryman" he began as the now fever pitch crowd, undoubtedly ramped up by the fact that most of them have not been allowed out of the house since Boris banned commoners from being out in daylight until the Corona 19 epidemic stopped killing rich people, began kicking over the "wank wall". The Wank wall of course being a local name for the Smisa wall, Smisa being a now failed group who clubbed together, built a wall and put their own names on it. Well the wank wall and Hearts had something in common, both had to go down. Similar scenes could be found at New Douglas park as a huge crowd of upto 14 accie fans turned out to rejoice as once again the Accie turd was not flushed. In other news, following the timely death of Rupert Murdoch after his covid inspired end Paisley journalist Kyle Gunn has been appointed chief journailst of all UK newspapers and director pupper master of the BBC. Good luck Kyle.
