The one thing that has become obvious throughout this whole sequence of events, is that there are so many variables in play here, that it is impossible to predict how this going to pan out. For a start, comparing one country with another which has completely different demographic, is simply invalid. It's basic science. Mathematical models are all fine and well, in theory. In reality when nature is involved its sheer unpredictability often manages to outwit these models. I notice that they're now employing such models to try and contain the locust plague in the Africa and Asia. It seems to be helping just now, but it's very early stages. Given the extraordinary speed that this pandemic has developed at, it is impossible to have any data that is particularly reliable. I can understand governments, with hosts of experts behind them, announcing figures to try and reassure people or to emphasise the severity of the situation. However, clowns on the internet, who in their own tiny minds, think that they have become some sort of guiding light on the matter, should be ignored completely. -

UK deaths now sitting around 52% of the level they were in Italy 2 weeks ago Neil Ferguson now saying that two thirds of people with coronavirus who have died would have died anyway When I stated this last week I received the standard abuse from oaksoft and TPAFTWAT Neil Ferguson must be a sociopath according to TPAFTWAT then More deaths in Germany than the UK yesterday. Is that because Germany do more testing? er, wait a minute...... And I wonder if Ayrshire Saint is still out and about moaning about other folk being out and about And LPM comparing coronavirus to the flu. Deary me. Epic fail. And the worst thing is that certain people actually want more deaths to prove a point on a football forum thread Evil evil people -

Two of my sons, both big Saints fans, release their new single on Friday with WEB who are fronted by Kieren Webster of The View. Give it a listen and if you like it order the single on vinyl at the link below. You can stream and share ‘Haze’ exclusively on Tenement TV now at https://www.tenementtv.com/tracks/premiere-haze-web/ . YOU may know him as the bassist of one of Scotland’s most well-loved indie outfits but Kieren Webster of The View is back, employing his well-established songwriting pedigree under the succinct new moniker of WEB. Formed in 2019, Webster’s latest musical endeavour have already made their presence known across Scotland with performances at Tenement Trail and support slots for the likes of The Libertines. Having developed a strong head of steam in such a short time, they have now finally emerged from the studio to unleash their very first piece of recorded material into the world. TENEMENT TV are delighted to bring you the premiere of WEB’s debut single ‘Haze’. ‘Haze’, while fitting with the canon of Webster’s previous work with The View, has a fresh vitality and style that is uniquely its own. There are shades of early punk, reminiscent of the likes of The Stooges or Buzzcocks, while the timbre of Webster’s distinctive voice and rock and roll drawl lends itself to the raw, vintage style. It is sure to go down a storm with fans old and new and marks the band out as a vital addition to the nation’s flourishing guitar music movement. In a stark divergence from the norms of Scottish guitar music, however, WEB are set to release a remix of ‘Haze’ by Dundee psych-pop duo Beta Waves as a B-side. Until its unfortunate postponement, WEB were set to play this year’s TTV Discover Tour. However, during this unprecedented period of shutdown for the music industry and the world at large, the steady flow of new music such as this provides a glimmer of hope to fans eager to get back to seeing their favourite artists. Furthermore, showing your support has never been more vital. Streaming and sharing is a lifeline for artists at this time. You can pre-save ‘Haze’ here. Buy ‘Haze’ on vinyl here. -

Design FORFUXSAKE. It's black and white traditional stripes. It's a St Mirren Top and should be the fecking same every year, with very minor tweaks here and there. We don’t want the same shite strip as this season or like the Crap Ayr Unitit efforts from the past. It's fecking easy and should already be produced for selling in the Spring when the weather is ideal. -

1 pointhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52047550 I don't often agree with Shull but on the subject of 2 clubs and 40 others, I am in total agreement So we get 157k along with the other 9 clubs, Well, Sevco, and Septic get 395k "The rest of the top flight clubs will get £157,500 plus VAT. The payments dip significantly down the divisions. Championship clubs are due to be paid £26,500 plus VAT, League One clubs £2,700 plus VAT and League Two clubs £1,350 plus VAT." That is a total insult and shows just where we are How the hell can the Bairns, Raith and the rest survive on basically is less than individuals are getting from the Govt...………. I wonder if Celtic will help their fellow clubs with 100m in Bank- I think I know the answer

FFS How many times do you need told. You are way too early to be gloating. That's a massive increase in UK deaths announced for today. More than doubled overnight. You can use whatever "model" you want. Your intuition isn't really valid but whatever makes you happy. Ooooh look at you - you can tighten screws and grommets! I'm so impressed. Please marry me. What am I good at? Quantum mechanics, software engineering, mathematical algorithms, statistical thermodynamics and applying a wide range of computational techniques to all sorts of real world problems and a whole host of other technical things. Don't get me wrong, when the revolution comes they'll be needing grommet installers and not what I can offer the world but you asked so I told you. -

Anyhow, my company, rather than go down the closure route have decided to split the number of employees into 2 groups, and we work one week and get the next week off, all on full pay. This will reduce the number of people in the plant at any one time and there are other measures to reduce contact. Seems a decent enough solution. -

Some stupid question and choices for answers, never written so much in the comments for a survey before. If thats what it takes to educate these so called academics, but hopefully in 10 years theres no need for one anyway. I've liked your post but I hope it takes a lot less than 10 years. Perhaps too optimistic. -

My imaginary runner pal online again today bumping his gums about wanting a complete lockdown He was due to fly out to Portugal a week past last Thursday for some running event. The event was obviously cancelled but he took it upon himself to go anyway with some mates, completely ignoring what was going on. They of course ended up stranded but eventually managed to get flights home He spent the whole time over there out and about posting photos online. Photos of the whole group in empty bars, having a piss up on the beach, describing the drinking seasons in the hotel. Now he’s home he wants everyone else to be locked down It’s an example of the angry violent mob out there who appear to be wanting a fascist police date imposed and wanting to make up their own government rules to apply to everyone else. Apart from himself though. If you’re doing ‘proper’ exercise like running then its ok. These folk make do my nut in! -

You're the one, well not the only one, who's so far engrossed in calculating the worse case scenario, failing, totally, to see what's HAPPENING, not forecast, in other countries. I have been watching the numbers carefully, not fannying about with home made graphs, and have been dismissing your ludicrous figures, although you are not in the same league as LPM, who I notice seems to escape your abusive comments? I would suggest you refrain from calling me a bellend as you, quite clearly, are the one who's been made look like a bellend, all starting from when you were highlighted as a panic buyer and a bit of a meltdown soon after. Thanks for being entertaining, I have enjoyed making you look very foolish. -

We used to have a couple of lads in Chiswick and Hammersmith but they've headed up the road now, so F3K a bit less convenient. Also means I don't need to sit on the Tube for an hour on the way home needing a pish!

It's unhelpful and inappropriate to be chucking around words like "heroes" when you are describing exceptionally well paid members of staff. Most of the people who are holding the country together right now are those who are paid the least and treated with disrespect by society - cleaners, those involved in food production and delivery etc. When this is all done and dusted these people don't need to be patronised by applause. They need to be paid a wage which reflects their importance to the nation. I'm hugely hopeful that this group of workers can find some way of ensuring that happens once this is finished. -
