  7. I love our town and proudly tell people that’s where I’m from . Anything that enhances the experience of living, shopping, visiting Paisley should be supported and applauded . To encourage more folk into the town centre and to make it a more pleasurable experience ,perhaps the next stage could be to rid the town centre of the f**king Jakies & Junkies that seem to plague it and clean up the dog shit 😏 Callum for Mayor 😎👍

And there is a way for these lads to progress. get out of the @rsecheeks and go to a so called provincial club like, er, Hamilton. They had 14 graduates in their squad so for their manager to come out with this guff is absolute nonsense.

He's an absolute shambles with this, no consideration for the views of Hamilton fans (which I can't imagine are out of line with other clubs & the recent fan poll). Also the irony in saying "there's got to be a pathway" when the Colts proposal he's championing doesn't provide one.

  16. Hard to be critical of last night’s performance. Maybe worth remembering we were playing a championship team, albeit probably one of the better ones. Lack of goals probably the only criticism bar a couple of wee hairy moments towards the end, but it’s rare to get through an entire game against any opposition without them having one of two sniffs. As DJChapsticks said though, rarely seen a more comfortable one nil. Back 3 looked solid enough and was particularly impressed with Dunne. Both wingbacks were really good. McGrath had a quiet game by his standards but I thought both Power and Kiltie were very good. Up front remained the problem for me. Brophy was very quiet and the goal aside, although he worked very hard and put himself about, I didn’t see a huge amount in Main to make me think he’ll trouble better defences. Obviously very early days though. Thought we lost a bit of cohesion when all the subs came on, but that is normal and I guess it was important to give as many players a run out as possible. All in all, more than satisfactory.

I only emailed once. As per their request. A further announcement on social media today asking us to be patient and saying they will get to us. My response on social media was thus... Even if it has been 28 days since I emailed without even so much as acknowledgment that you have received it? 28 days ago, I was ready to give you nearly £500 Now? I'm seriously reconsidering! My last social media comment was two weeks ago. I had an instant response telling me to be patient! Just HOW patient should I be?

You literally presented a source that confirms data isn't yet available I prefer data that contains data If there's less suicides and mental health issues than most would expect, that would be great. But to suggest that the risk isn't there is a wee bit naïve

I wonder which of the OF clubs Brian Rice supports. Because he'll never persuade me that his rage is about the lack of oppportunities for a bunch of young players. A normal manager would be saying "Look, send your players to clubs like ours and we'll develop them in a properly competitive manner where they can truly feel the pressure of a relegation or promotion battle. They can't do that in a colt team which can't go up or down the leagues" Instead, he laments the enormous amounts of money the OF are losing by not developing these players. He needs to accept that battle is lost on this. Would be interesting to see how many clubs supported this proposal and how far short they fell of the numbers needed to secure a vote.

Maybe - a catchy headline like * Exclusive *‘work continues in Paisley Museum refurb - well it’s been going on for years but we’d like a picture of four Hi Vis types shoving spades into the ground as if it’s actually just beginning “ That should do it 👍. I missed my true vocation as a headline writer.

There’s loads of work been done inside both the Museum + Library.Just because you can’t see the work doesn’t mean there’s nothing being done This project is going to be brilliant for the Town…………and for anyone who may own a property in the area 😄

Correct, I don’t think it’s the right approach to say 100% no in all circumstances to colts but we have only ever had a rehash of the same proposal over & over. That’s not to say there isn’t a possibility that exists where I would favour colts but it certainly wouldn’t be one pandering to Celtic & Rangers which is all we’ve ever been offered over the decades. Edit: nice to have a wee bit of agreement every once in a while 😂

It seems you are the angel of death as, overall, suicides are not showing any increases during the pandemic. As of June 2021, official statistics on suicide rates during the pandemic have not been released. This is because it takes a long time to register, analyse and report on suicide data at a national level, and this has been further delayed due to the pandemic. Fortunately, provisional suicide rates for 2020 in England has found no evidence that national suicide rates increased. And evidence from the National Confidential Inquiry (NCISH) and the University of Manchester suggests suicide rates during the first national lockdown in England have not been impacted in the way that many of us were concerned about. Real-time data from other nations in the UK and Ireland is not available as surveillance systems are not currently widespread, though some are under development.

It seems a bit of a perfect storm The left wing / progressive / woke view seems to be that restrictions to save lives = good Now I do get that view. If we can stop people from getting ill and dying from a virus, we should 100% be doing that, but you've got to use some critical thinking to look beyond the bullshit and virtue signalling. You take a risk when you go food shopping, you take even more of a risk if you visit Primark for a pair of socks. Like you say, certain people have been given a wee bit of power, and they're enjoying it. Social media companies have never had more power than they have right now. My main worry is that this infrastructure has now been built - at an enormous cost, all of these new tools are now available It's going to be very very tempting for governments to use those tools - and that infrastructure. for other purposes, such as getting to net zero carbon emissions, or if they spot a spike of covid cases, or flu. Again, that's something that can be pushed through using woke/progressive politics. I consider myself somewhat left leaning, but I do wish that there was a bit more open debate and individual thought around what is actually progress, rather than just wanting to be viewed as a progressive person.

It's never going to end Doakes. I'm waiting for the "ah but we should mask-up to eliminate flu" crowd to pipe up. One of the Independent Sage members has already voiced that opinion. Susan Michie (?) believes we should NEVER give up masks. Are people really up for that? A lifetime of masking up? Seriously? Once certain people get a power rush they really struggle to give it up. Some of these scientists who are on the TV and radio everyday probably didn't speak to anyone outside academia prior to covid. Now they are inundated with people following their every word and they are drunk on that high. That why Jason Leitch makes stupid egotistical comments like "don't even bother to pick up the phone to me" regarding crowds of 500. Where does he get off talkinhg to anyone like that? Nobody elected this twat but he's sounding off like he's in charge. We've got a problem here and unfortunately the public support them in large numbers so I'm not sure how we're ever going to break free of their unwarranted and continued intrusion into our lives.
