  1. Not only have we not signed enough attacking midfielders, we decide to let one of ours leave for a rival premier league club. I firmly believe Cammy should have had more game time with us and this will come back to bite us on the @rse. Our club is in freefall at the moment and some of the decisions, on and off the park, are baffling.

McGrath, who yesterday was worth about £250K plus two players, today is worth hee-haw. He'll probably sign a pre-contract with Aberdeen in January and be away then for buttons

  3. Why would you be fuming if you were Goody? He was given a budget and he has known for months about what was needed yet he has used the budget on some amount of shite and he has clearly miss managed. Poor management.

  4. Tinpot through and through Ali Mccann and Jason Kerr leave for £1.2 million and £600,000. We were willing to sell Mcgrath for £300,000 and 2 Hibs cast offs so much for not letting players go on the cheap. As for letting Cammy go the mind boggles.

  5. Why bring in a player who has spent all of time at wolves playing for shite teams on loan . Then give mcpherson away to a rival team only st.mirren can think its good buisness .

Jack Ross reminds me of my first wife, who arrived at my house with a removal van to take the three piece suite, and left me a garden chair in its place. In this case, Scott Allan and Drey Wright were the garden chairs. I hope all those fannies who went down to Sunderland a few years ago on their "we love you Jack" bus have had time to reflect on their idiocy. Since moving to Hibs all he has done is try to feck us over.

  8. Just my take on it. But last season was pretty good finish and we should really have looked to build attacking options on to it. What we lost from last season and have found replacements for: LWB - Mason = Tanser CM Doyle-Hayes = Ronan ST - Obika = Main We also brought in Power. Not sure if that was to take the place of Sheron/Foley as that I feel is the position Jim wanted them in to play. Kiltie might have been brought in as a back up if McGrath left, but hasn't. Players we are yet to replace: LM Durmas RM/LM - Connolly ST/RM - Quaner/Morias We then needed maybe 3 more in to build on last season's form, but to either fit this system or to allow the ability to change it up. Needs not met: * Pace/Creativity - LWB/LM/LW * Pace/Creativity - RWB/RM/RW * either/or Tall/Strong/Fast Striker Can these be met in the free agent market and with only Scottish, English, NI, Welsh or RoI players due to Brexit? Who knows.

Some scumbag updated Jamie McGrath's Wikipedia page and had his current club as Hibernian and squad number 11, I have now gone in and changed it back to St Mirren and number 7

  13. The crux of the matter. McPherson shouldn't have went to rival team full stop. This is a dog eat dog league if he had to go. Then to another league, flecking madness

  14. Cammy gave 100%. Promising player who scored some great goals. But..The manager picks his players. He stands or falls on the results he gets. Last years weren’t bad! Good luck to Cammy and good luck to our new midfielder.

  15. Is it not time that Hibernian were officially renamed Hibmirren ?

  16. Michael Stewart was talking Cammy up this season mate not 2 year ago and asking why he wasn't playing more often... said he was one the Scotland's brightest talents.... think considering the level he played at. I'd say he's not a bad judge

  17. The current perma crocked version of Scott Allan is still a better player than Cammy will ever be. He's bang average and not worth getting frothing over regardless of where he goes.

  18. But the one thing we are good at is strengthen other peoples squad. Like St.johnstone or believe it or not HIBS.

All the news reports I have seen state that Hibs botched the McGrath deal. Personally, I would rather the club didn't go out and just sign anybody in order to appease the fans. We can sign free agents and have brought in some good players that way. Plus we retain McGrath. What I will say is that Dundee were a side I thought would struggle this season. If Griffiths plays to anywhere near his potential, he will score plenty of goals for them. I think it is a stronger league this season, but we have what it takes to stay up.
    3 points
  20. The same could be said about Scott Allan and Drey Wright but we bent over to allow Hibs to dump their cast offs on us while St Johnstone took over £1 million pound for a player that is nowhere near as good as Mcgrath.

  21. McPherson was a fringe squad player who has shown time and again he is at best a bottom end Prem / Championship player. The fact Fakes have lost Kerr and McCann and thought Cammy can fill that gaping hole is laughable. I have seen nothing in the years he has been around the 1st team to think he was improving. Also don't get the comparison with Ethan. Two totally different players. Oh and the selling clubs manager will have had zero say in where a surplus player ends up, get a grip if you think Goodwin makes that decision.

  23. A free weekend means there's still time to get a couple of players in with pace . I thought we would have got that from the loan market. Happy with McGrath staying . If we are going to persevere with three at the back I would prefer McCarthy, Dunne and Shaunessey to be the first choice three as their height is a goal threat .

  27. I think the lad from Wolves will be a step up from Cammy. St Johnstone must have been willing to pay a decent percentage (if not all) of his wages. I get it. Left winger from free agents and we'll be fine

  28. I honestly cant believe some of the crap on here. Cammy was and is a decent player, but too similar to some others we have - Ronan sounds more of a playmaker type, so in that sense we now have a better balance. There is no way swapping McGrath for cash plus a 29 year old with a heart condition and Drey Wright made any sense whatsoever. McGrath will still go in January, but hopefully to a team in England - i dont think hes the type of player to go in the huff as he didnt get a big move. McPherson would be more of a loss if he was more consistent, but sadly he's not.

We cant force the boy out the door. We are at the mercy of clubs wanting to buy. If Hibs hadnt messed up he would be gone for a decent deal IMO. Scott Allan would have been just what we need.

  31. I would say this transfer window (and the last) highlights just how important a job Gus MacPherson was doing. Yes I know it's a different world with the pandemic but there seems to be a notable difference in recruitment over the period he was employed.

  32. It would of suited us all better if that McGrath deal with hibs had went through lastnight, McGrath has been wanting to leave for a while but he has been saying all the right things in the press about being happy here etc, he was In Middlesbrough just about to sign when the owner pulled the plug on his deal, McGrath’s agent has then been on the blower straight away to the likes of Aberdeen and hibs trying to get a deal done which never happened. Scott Allan and Drey Wright wanted to come and it was all agreed along with 300k, Scott Allan would of been class for us but Drey Wright would of been very meh but we would of had money there to dip into the free agent market. Now we are going to lose McGrath for nothing as he wanted to go and there is zero chance of him signing a new deal. Say what you want but that deal lastnight would of been perfect for us in my opinion.

  33. It's the board and the CEO that does the negotiations. Manager gives them a list of players and they try to get them. Problem is the board want SPL football paying championship wages. They'll get their wish next season. Just my opinion. Unless the players we've brought in up their game. No signs of that yet.

  34. Think McPherson will struggle for game time as much as St j as with us. Strange move for him.

  35. Cammy is a bit part squad player that screams Championship / bottom end Prem and has shown little if any progress in years.

  37. From the outside, Cammy moving to St. Johnstone looks very strange. From the way JG has used him this season, it looks like JG doesn't see him being a major part of his plans, but why would we allow Cammy to go to such a close rival? Was there a need to reduce the wage bill? Was Cammy unhappy about not getting much game time? Maybe Cammy saw the writing on the wall with the arrival of Connor Ronan and asked to go elsewhere to get regular games. We cannot know if any of these things are true, but, in my opinion, none of them explains why the lad should go to St. Johnstone. I hope that there is an agreement that he cannot play against us. If not, with new teammates and in a new system, he may well do us a lot of damage. I cannot think that JG would want Cammy to go to Perth, so now the question is: Did JG have any say in where Cammy was going or was the move arranged at a higher level?

  38. All promises broken. We will kick on after finishing 7th. They said. Club in a shambles . Now September and season tickets are not sent out yet. Signings poor. If I was Goody I would be fuming. Not a good start for fan ownership. As for Kibble. Not enough time to comment on that mob. [emoji31]

  39. I can’t understand why we would take such a risk in letting Cammy go - never mind to a direct rival. Cammy should have been on the park on Sunday, what happens if the boy from Wolves doesn’t click or fit in to the team, we’ve then lost an asset in Cammy. This makes no sense to me from a footballing and business perspective??

  44. Sometimes, just sometimes even if a player not progressing at one club can go somewhere else on loan or perm transfer and be totally different. Last seasons transformation in Jesse Langar at west ham proved that imo. Might just be the thing for Cammy instead of letting a career drift away.

  45. Why on earth would people carp about signing a rated player they don't really know about? Different if we signed a known dud from the SPFL, but this is not the case. let give him a chance and then decide how pish, or unpish, he really is
