There will be top end Championship clubs in England desperate to sign McGrath. We could get quite a decent fee for him , certainly more than what was offered last transfer window . As soon as a club signs him and puts him on a three year contract his value will be £3 million as a current Irish International. Should the team get promoted that value would triple . Look out for Celtic offering sweeties .

I would agree that the best possible outcome would be a PCA and we keep hold of him to end of season giving us time to source a replacement. What I would rather hope we didn't do is accept a shocking low bid at last minute like the hibs one. However given the recent debacle over the rangers ticket allocation(another thread i know!) I wouldn't be shocked by whatever club does.

  3. So, after the dust has settled our record of only losing one game from 8 is very satisfying, especially after the disappointment of the Euros. Our slow start is a concern, the first half against Denmark was abysmal, and the last couple of games not much better. On the plus side the manager and players deserve great credit for the turn around in the second half of the three games mentioned above. We've managed to turn games that we would have drawn previously into wins, a massive difference in our confidence and points tally. Friday 12th November, can't wait.

Got great praise from the Irish TV pundits as the "most intelligent football brain" they'd witnessed in years.

  8. Was reading a thing on Sunday about this. As you say, we will probably be seeded. There are also two teams from the Nations League thingy that go into the playoffs and one if them is likely to be Austria (apparently). The seeding is done on the group performance. Chances are we will still be against teams that are ranked higher than us, though. This is from wiki: Play-off stage: The 10 group runners-up would be joined by the best 2 Nations League group winners, based on the Nations League overall ranking, that finished outside the top two of their qualifying group. These 12 teams will be drawn into three play-off paths, playing two rounds of single-match play-offs (semi-finals and finals, with the home teams to be drawn), with the 3 path winners qualifying for the World Cup.

Won a penalty for the rep Ireland tonight, that will bring some more interest from clubs in January.

  10. 0-1, all about the points, although the 2nd half was MUCH better. Well done the manager again for getting a reaction from the players at half time. Roll on November.

  12. There was a news article the other day about staff shortages at Underwood Road, due to the number of staff isolating, resulting in it taking up to a week to deliver some mail and all deliveries being cancelled some days so the staff could concentrate on sorting. I'm afraid that's hard to believe. The volume of mail would be slightly more than a trickle, hardly enough to grind to a halt. Covid being used as another excuse for poor service, as many companies/organisations are doing.
