  1. Thought Flynn and McAllister were excellent tonight considering their lack of games. I'd always have Flynn in the team amyway. An Away point is usually ok but considering we totally dominated that game it feels like 2 points dropped. And well done to all the Buddies who made it through the absolutely horrendous weather and gridlock traffic to cheer the team on.

  2. Imo his first goal last night was one of a striker whose confidence is sky high..

  3. I take your points. However it was not too long ago that we were having very few shots on goal in a game. Last night we had over 20. We could have been more clinical but their keeper had a great game too. Yes we do need to improve further but we no longer look like relegation tusselers now. Given 2 or 3 1st cchoice players were missing and guys like McAllister got their 1st start in a long time, overall we were pretty good. The mistakes will happen, but they have been happening more recently. Let's hope we will have a run with far fewer. Let's hit Dee while they are down and improve our goal difference... then we might just be top 6 candidates.

  4. I have been very critical of McAllister in the past although that was mostly due to his health/fitness issues which meant he was often a luxury passenger. But credit to him tonight for working a lot harder and being more game aware than usual.

  5. I think there should be a John Needham statue placed outside the main stand. John Needham, legend!

  6. St Mirren in poor communication shocker. 😉

  7. Yes of course that is a possibility too. But they were rank rotten last night. If we get in front and grab another their mentality will be really tested.... We are playing the team 2nd bottom and theyve lost 5 to the bottom team a few days before we play them - nothing short of 3 points is good enough if we are serious contenders for top 6

  8. A good away point in the circumstances, well done Saints and also a very decent away support.

  9. Yes , that picture proves the retake decision was correct. GK's already in front of the line and there's encroachment , well before Brophy makes contact !

  10. Not a comment - just a bloody joke!

  11. Brophy has been excellent so far, 5 goals in 6 games on the road and he brings a lot to the forward line. A constant pain in the arse to defenders and some cracking finishes. Showed a lot of character that he missed that first penalty and brushed Ronan away to hit the retake without a shred of self doubt. Hope he finally gets that monkey off his back with his first home goal on Saturday.

    Welcome Eamonn Brophy

Fantastic signing. The best striker we've had at the club since Sir Thommo.

  14. The Ratner effect is real, though. It tends to happen on here when a certain person posts on a thread and their posts bring the whole thread crashing down.

  15. Hope you are right on the score!

  16. If John does decide to go by mutual consent we could always ask Gerald Ratner to take his position on the board. He has been looking for something to do for the last 30 years For the youngsters Gerald learned, the hard way, that when you have the privilege to be in the higher echelons of a business that its best to keep your opinions to yourself.

  17. Hoping we get in behind their weak fullback like RC did. Hope also McAllister keeps his place, plays at least as well again, scores and adds an assist or 3. I'd also put in Dennis for Main if McGrath is not fully fit...he might come on as a sub or have more time to recover. They are also slow in the midfield. We need to believe we are on another good run and put them to the sword. C O Y S

  18. Some were but no team ever gets it perfect in the last 3rd. The fact that we're creating more chances surely increases our chances of making more good choices? Dee full backs were abysmal yesterday. McAllister will run a mock if he keeps his place and plays as well again. C O Y S

  19. That corner had mixed memories for me. It was where I usually met my long-term girl friend, but when we had our off moments throughout my formative school years, there were other girls who caught the eye, and needless to say Burtons Corner was the agreed meeting place. I got 'stood up' on more than one occasion

  20. Great fightback and a corker from Brophy to get back in it. Thought our penalty was the right call and I think that the keepers trailing foot was just off the line so the linesman's decision was correct - but, being honest, I'd have been RAGING if it had been given against us. Motherwell fans furious about our penalty should take a look at the highlights from Ibrox - now THAT is a 'soft' 'penalty' - outrageous!

  21. I thought McAllister was good too. However he needs to stop consistently cutting inside onto his left foot and getting his shots blocked. Defenders know exactly what he’s going to do.

  22. Looks a fair bit before contact made with the ball & he’s already lunging forward. Slightly nitpicking as well but they have four players over the line into the box/ semi-circle 😂

  23. Nonsense. Why dont you try supporting your team. Those rascists are not our friends and John Needham to his credit has made that clear. Its important that you get on the right side here. It because of this appeasing attitude that this insidious disease has been allowed to take root again. Whats unacceptable is anti Irish racism. Please do not lose sight of that when you are bringing down a man who has had the courage to call it out.

  32. Let's not feel sorry for them though. They are down there because they are a poor team at this level.... just like they were the year they got relegated. Although they have prominent strikers County kept a clean sheet. County dominated the midfield and exposed their lack of pace back to middle... JG's coaching team will have seen this too... and we should capitalise on it.... Danny Mullen looked more lively when he came on than the others... he might get a start, but he wasn't deemed good enough for is at this level... I just hope we don't have to go a goal down to start playing AND that we don't sit back or ease off if we go in front. County kept on it for almost the full 90 minutes...and they were shell-shocked..... C O Y S

  33. We were great last night and I do think we’ll be too strong for Dundee, hope Kyle keeps his place, just need to keep the Dundee frontline quiet. They will be hurting after last night that’s for sure!!

  36. "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." This of course is a suggestion to not criticize others when you personally are not perfect! I'm not suggesting that what he wrote is either correct, or for that matter appropriate, especially for a figurehead of our club, but in this 'woke' society of ours, it takes very little for the media, or a group of 'perfect' individuals to bay for blood. All this suggests to me that maybe society is changing. Are we in the process of becoming much more conservative in our beliefs, but at the same time much more precious in our apparent acceptance of what you say, do or watch? However there are a lot of hypocrites out there In saying that I think there are far too many people who don't engage their brains before they rant into twitter, facebook or some other media and they (and he) need to learn that if you haven't anything appropriate to say, don't rant, just because you can!

  38. A good few posts questioning my view that we got out of jail tonight on the basis that we were the better team. First of all I don’t dispute we were the better team. That’s what make is it all the more frustrating. In fact I’d go as far as saying Motherwell were absolute dogshite and despite that, not only did we not beat them we were lucky to get a draw. We were absolutely powder puff in a totally dominant first half. Barely created a decent chance of note. Came out second half and gifted Motherwell 2 goals. We only got a draw tonight because of a very soft penalty and a highly dubious decision for a retake. For me we can play all the fancy football in the middle of the park that we want, but if we can’t put teams away when we’re dominant and we can’t defend properly, then we’re going to achieve f**k all. The only positive I take from tonight’s performance is that we were 2-0 down and got a point. Hence, got out of jail. I’ll take that though.

  42. Unlikely at this stage, only 3 points from the team above them, still a long way to go. Mate, who is in the know, says he's still got the backing of the board. One bad result doesn't equal the sack, we should know that.

  45. I think this John Needham sounds like a splendid fellow. Calling out the rascist bigots is not a crime, and its a disgrace that he hasnt received the support from the Club and fans that he deserves. I am also disappointed in the so called fans on here who have critisised him. I think this 'Slash' is probably a Rangers fan. If Saints are your second team then we really dont need you. No wonder our team got humped yet again at the weekend
