For a wee bit of perspective, every NZ player who made it big started out at clubs like Birkenhead. Chris Killen, Chris Wood, Winston Reid, Sarpreet Singh of Bayern Munich. Bill Tuiloma actually went from Birkenhead to Marseille and made it into their first team in 2015. He now now plays MLS football week in week out for Portland. f**king daft to suggest that we ought to write him off for being amateur. Almost every player who makes it to the full NZ national team goes this route of playing for a club until they are 18-22 and the best ones head for Europe. This lad has had that path delayed by a two year pandemic.

  2. You're not the only one who couldn't see the boy had potential, The club didn't either I'm not sure why The boy was 6ft 2" and built like a one iron he needed time, and someone at the club should have had the balls to tell Stubbs to F%%k off, when was the last time we had a 6'2" striker coming through our books FFS The boy scored on his first start for us in the league cup... in the same season scored 10 goals for Alloa in 23 games in a tough league for a part time team, if that's not potential what is He only made 2 starts in the league his last start was against Dundee which we won 2-1, [ the only league game we won in 13] before being transferred to Ross County and replaced by the goal machine Brock-Madsen I'm not surprised he's doing well and I think he'll get better still

OK I’ll break cover. I might not have thought he was a big haddie, but I never saw much in him during our time with us and I certainly wasn’t heartbroken when he left. 20/20 hindsight is such a wonderful thing. Everyone is a scouting genius now he’s scoring for fun in English League One. Even when he was scoring a handful of goals for RossCo I didn’t think he was a massive loss.

Nobody is saying he is the hardened professional or the one that’s coming in for now. This has been a long arranged trial. If he’d appeared in October, then everyone would be welcoming him and say it’s great we’re thinking out the box. Because it’s January, people are having a fit.

He had bags of potential but Stubbs was so incompetent he couldn't see it. Worst manager in the history of our club by a country mile. Pity Jack Ross left as he did see his potential and ability. We would have ended up with the player that Sunderland now have if JR had stayed. I also think JG would have recognized his ability too.

Carlisle was my 1st away game with Newcastle in the old 2nd division in 1982. In the Pettrill end behind the goal. We lost 2-0 in front of a bumper 16000 crowd and the fans around me were seething with the Newcastle non performance, Me? I didn't care TBH. Was just so thrilled to be at an actual away game as a young lad. Always want them to do well but we don't get the warmest of welcomes whenever we go in friendlies.

  11. Agreed! Today I pal said to me that Smisa have become almost a secret society. For example, when did they last have a public meeting to which Smisa members could attend? (The two "emergency" meetings in the summer don't count because those meetings were driven by concerned fans and not by Smisa themselves.) They still haven't officially announced the AGM, nor have the club. They chose instead to send e-mails to shareholders, the implication being that the AGM is of no concern to non-shareholders. I beg to differ. On the subject of "who ever the SMISA representatives are": I have repeatedly asked various Smisa board members to identify themselves and make themselves known, my view being that the vast majority of fans have no idea who the individual board members are. I wrote to Smisa suggesting that perhaps they attach a photo of each board member to any communication issued thus enabling ordinary fans to be aware of who their Smisa representatives are. They claim to have a responsibility to be open and transparent, after all. I received the following reply: "Our pictures, profiles and email addresses are all on the SMISA website" In other words, the fans have to trawl through the internet to try identify who each board member is, instead of those individuals making themselves easily identifiable. My goodness, if you want to be on the Smisa board then don't be afraid to make it known to your fellow fans who you are. Be proud of being a Smisa board member and be visible Now there's a Zoom AGM coming up? Why the need for anonymity and secrecy? It's no wonder that many fans - and they are numerous - are completely disillusioned with the current Smisa board.

  12. Best preseason matches were they two carlisle v saints ones. Both times me and Mrs CS went, sat in CBS stand(pitchside) in line with halfway line with me on the 'away side of it and her 'home' side. First one she was more interested in the carlisle keeper at the time 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Especially when you read articles like this. ”Ninety-seven per cent of the former elite academy players now aged 21 to 26 years old failed to make a single Premier League appearance, official statistics reveal……” https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-academy-players-figures-appearances-numbers-1387302

WHAT does the data show, if it isn't obvious? Can't argue Covid is a killer, just not as much as some would have us believe. Overall I'd say 1st lockdown did save lives, the 2nd, probably, recent restrictions, more than unlikely, despite you dreaming up bonkers ideas and twisted figures. Virtue signaling ISN'T a term as you describe, but that's not unusual you are a simpleton.

The public’s rage against Boris breaking the rules is misplaced The rage should be that the rules were ever put in place in the first place. I also think that many are raging because they stupidly complied with them.

We lost 1-0 to a very strong sellic team at Lennoxtown yesterday Typical of the Scottish media there is no mention of the Saints line up but sellic included all their new Japanese signings Owen Moffat scored the only goal of the game 🏁🏁🏁

    AGM being held via Zoom

I apologise for any misunderstanding but I am confident that I have got my facts right. The Kibble directors have never addressed the shareholders since they joined the board in March 2020 and this meeting (which was with Smisa and not the shareholders, two separate entities) was prior to their joining the board. This meeting was all about what Kibble could bring to the table and took place before they came on board. So, when I said that "the Kibble directors NEVER having faced the supporters" I'm pretty certain I'm right - they were not directors of St.Mirren at the time this video was shot. I hope that clarifies the situation. Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge they haven't attended any public meeting or AGM since they actually joined the board e.g. neither Kibble director took the time to attend the two "emergency" meetings with the fans, Smisa and the remaining directors in the summer. Nevertheless, that is not the issue here but thanks for giving me the opportunity to try and be as specific as I can. Anyway, let's not get side-tracked....my point is NOT about the Kibble and what they bring or don't bring to the table. No, my post is simply about the shareholders AGM being conducted via Zoom. No more, no less. There is no doubt in any reasonable person's mind that a public AGM is much more efficient that a Zoom based meeting so I reiterate: Why is the AGM being conducted via Zoom and not in public when there is no requirement to do so under current guidelines? In my opinion, that's a perfectly reasonable question that I feel Smisa should answer. Thanks for your contribution. Needless to say, I've written to them asking why. I await a reply with interest.

  36. Total disgrace what happened with Ross Stewart, and I don't just blame Allan Stubbs what about the other football people at the club who would see him every day he should never have been allowed to leave so early Anyone with half a brain could see he had potential, I certainly could on the few occasions he got on the park, it's no surprise to me he's doing so well
