  1. I had the pleasure of meeting Keith at an awards on Friday where both our wife's were up for awards. I was totally shocked to see him there and my wife introduced us. I have to say Keith is a lovely, genuine down to earth bloke to take the time to talk to me. Said he was loving the work and the club. Said all the players and Robo are great guys after I spoke about communication I have had from Marcus and from Keanu for my son. He also said he will look out for us in April when my son will be mascot. Sent from my IN2023 using Tapatalk

When they were given both ends the noise they created was loud as One end would try and out sing the other end and it worked,it was like football song tennis You couldn’t hear yourself think when they were in full flow I can’t believe any St Mirren fan wants to listen to that at a home game It’s so much better with only one stand 👏👏👏

  3. Just thought it worth reiterating that we appear yet again to have found another top class keeper to replace our previous top class keepers that we were very disappointed to lose. This lad has been absolutely superb for us and for me has been a wee bit unsung. Keep it up Trevor!!

    Cost of Living

My wife and I are both pensioners in receipt of the State Pension and Company Pensions. I would describe our situation as 'comfortable' and well able to cope with the ongoing situation. (no begging letters, please). However, the government is giving us each a £250 winter heating allowance, £400 off our energy bills and a further £300 pensioner household heating allowance next April. That's £1200 before the next energy bill discount and a 10% state pension increase next April. I am sure there must be hundreds of thousands of pensioners in a similar situation to me. Would it not be better to target those who really are struggling with this huge amount of government cash. It's not even taxable. I guess it's probably partly a bribe to us old folk to get us to vote Tory - they have wasted the money on me.

The match day experience in these games has been much better. I think it’s great seeing our support grow too. Having people shifted to accommodate them for more cash does t work for me. I’d take a player less in our squad and pay more to ensure this stays. We should never go back to filling the place to the point where it’s swarming with opposition fans leaving us feeling like the visitors in our home park. St Mirren park is our home and it’s become a good place for our team. Having the majority of the fans on these days has undoubtedly helped us

  10. For me, the biggest positive today was the work rate by every one of our players. If only we witnessed that much effort from the entire team in every game we played the supporters would have nothing to complain about. Main was my MOM today, a terrific non-stop display from him, and he showed more ball skills than I believed he possessed. Disappointing that we didn't hang on to our lead, but I can't criticise any of our players after that terrific effort today. COYS.

  13. Oh shut up you daft prick. That was f**k all to do with the manager. The players on the park f**ked that right up. They were managing the game out just fine until they started kicking the ball away etc. The manager got his tactics spot on. He made the right substitutions to get us the lead and then made the right subs to shore up the game. It’s not his fault the players shat their pants again.

  14. I’d say he’s probably right . They are bigger clubs with bigger budgets who have the clout to strengthen In the Jan window if needed. Would like to think we can give them a run for their money as would Motherwell, but not sure if at this stage we have the players and squad depth to do so. I hope I’m wrong and we do finish above all three but finishing top six currently would be a more realistic target for us.

Yet again a moan abour SGG turns in to a Kibble debate. Like him or loathe him, at least SGG and the consortium all were resonably successful business men who had experience in running a buiness. The club played the Hampden game, financial management game in very difficult times for the Club and Scottish football. Maybe he has an agenda, but doesnt everybody. Selling and getting their money back annoyed many fans, but it is easy to moan when it is not your money. They forget it was the consortium who put their money where their mouthes were when the Club was in danger. Just look at the poor uptake to the previous share issues when the Club needed money, fans cannot actually financially support a club in difficult times. To most of us small shareholders, it was a matter of the heart, not the greatest financial deal we had ever done. That is probably why we still chip in our money each month. How many Celtic fans hate Fergus Mccann walking away with a tidy profit yet are happy that he saved the club, brought professional business practices and was probably the one who set the financial model for those that followed. We all love the club, love the concept of fan ownership but I would be very concerned about most of the fans on a Saturday actually being involved in running it day to day. This message was partly due to reading the statement of the SMISAClub Board nominee. I found after reading it, that it was full of lovely ideas and concepts but I had no idea if the guy actually had the skill set to run the business. Hopefully that may come out on here in the coming days.

    Welcome Keanu Baccus

The Keanu Baccus express train keeps rolling along. Well done, Sir! It was great that he got more game time than a cameo appearance, the World Cup only comes around every four years, football is a short career and he's not guaranteed to be at every World Cup so I'm glad his national team have got through to the next stages and I hope he's relishing every minute of it all.

  17. After the League Cup disgrace there is extra pressure on the Scottish Cup this season. We can't afford - from a footballing and it seems financial - stand point to be out early of both cups. A home draw to a lower league team is all you can ask for really. Huge game for the football club and we simply must win.

  19. Between the kick in the nuts on Wednesday then only dropping points to ANOTHER penalty, a wee turn of luck could have seen us 4 points better off. Ach well, still been a reasonable first 15 games.

Aye, because SG is the lifelong St Mirren supporter who committed large sums of his own money to rescue our club from an asset stripper who would have put the club into administration / liquidation for personal gain, and whose prudent financial policies returned stability to our basket case of a club, and who conned Tesco into providing us with a stadium fit for our needs has been elected back onto our club board. Aye, who would want a complete c*nt like him to be in any way involved in the future of our club ?? Honestly, please enlighten me, what are the negatives of his involvement ?

    Happy St. Andrew's Day

Being the Bangkok Buddie, things like St Andrews day take on more significance. We had the St Andrews Ball 2 weeks ago with Bahookie Ceilidh Band from Scotland. Tonight it will be full blown Scottish dinner, including haggis, neeps and tatties etc. Bunting is already up on the balcony as are the blue and white lights. Have a great time whatever you are and whatever way you celebrate it. Looking forward to see you all at the Aberdeen game, when i get home at Christmas. COYS

Would also be interesting to hear our keepers thoughts on it. It can’t be easy having 1600 Neanderthal scum just metres behind you baying for your blood for both halves of the game . One of the best decisions the club have made imo.

    Speculation Thread

I agree. Brophy was in the Scotland squad when we signed him and was scoring some cracking goals for Killie. He has been really unlucky with injuries and we can't seem to sort it. Bit like Dunne when he was at Motherwell. We take a punt and he has been excellent. Bottom line Brophy is a very good player.

This is a long term project with a short term loss imo. I for one have felt the match day atmosphere vs both Celtic & The Rangers to and from the game and in the ground watching the game a much more pleasant experience. Its felt a much safer environment that I would consider taking my kids to. It's evident on paper that our own support gates are up, whether that is at a lesser monetary value or not I'm not sure. That is worth it absolutely for me, to the alternative blue or green pound. We just need to follow through now with a higher league finish etc.

  32. Thought we were excellent today. So much so, the only way the **** were getting anything was through their usual means. Great atmosphere and pleasing to see the Sevco fans being hounded from the West stand. Now time to rest up and recharge for the squad-its been a very decent first part of the season.

  44. It definitely did get mentioned because the ref gave a foul AGAINST Ayunga for that. In normal play I thought it looked like a correct decision, it was only when I saw the close up replay I thought it looked like it could easily have gone the other way. As for the actual penalty I’m afraid it was a stonewaller for me. Naive challenge by Fraser. He should have just let Kent go past him once he knew he wasn’t going to be able to fairly challenge him. The way he was playing he’d probably have ballooned his cross out for a throw in. Overall though, an excellent performance and I agree with those who say it felt more like s defeat. We need to learn to see games out. As @faraway saint said, we’ve arguably dropped 4 points in the last few days for that very reason.

Its astonishing how long you can dine out on something. Sell up on the back of it, then come back for the crumbs. It’s also astonishing how the events/history of the share issue around the Reg Brealey era can be rewritten. The share issue of that time was not embraced by as many St Mirren fans as had hoped. (Read the accounts of around that timeline for proof) Someone had to underwrite the purchase of the remaining shares. Separately all these rumours of issues at the club, clashes with Kibble, financial Armageddon etc. WHERE are they coming from, WHO is spreading them and WHO benefits from them. One thing for sure the beneficiary isn’t St Mirren or SMISA
