  1. Yesterday was a great result in the circumstances. Livi are always difficult to beat and they have some very good players. Getting a result with only 10 men was excellent. We were shite with our worst league performance this season. That was Gogic's first start in 6 months and it showed. I also think he was wearing 6 inch heels. Strain was a huge miss. Fraser is nowhere in the same category playing wing back. And Kiltie is not a striker. If Greive had come back from NZ sooner than Friday and he started I reckon we would have caused the Livi defence far more problems. Great to see Joe get some game time and introduce a threat at corners. Good day at the office.

  3. Kinda but the Motherwell game where we played pretty well and certainly deserved at least a point is more annoying IMO.

  4. Wouldnae matter if I was in Timbuktu, if the Buds are playing, I’ll be watching. Plus it was a 10am kick off here so handy timing.

  5. I never got to see the game but another brilliant result for the club. I could look at the league table all day, I have been looking at it most of the morning. No matter how busy I am I will make time to catch the game against Rangers next Saturday as I think we have a chance of something.

  6. It's rarely I would suggest we are worth a wee flutter, I try to keep emotion out of my bets, so THIS is worth a WEE flutter.

  7. For me the one that niggles the most is the Motherwell game ffs I believe we really should have had something out that game Still, we’ll be taking 3 points next week [emoji2]

  8. Poor game but great result. Too many of our lads weren't able to deal with the 'physical approach' of Livi (that's being kind). But our whole squad gets huge credit for the spirit and guts to keep pushing forward after we lost a man and an equaliser. Big Joe came on and helped keep them out at the back and, of course Alex got the winner. I try not to criticise referees, but yesterday's man was very poor. Allowed himself to be conned by Livi players going down on several occasions and was often miles away from incidents. A mystery how he could decide who was to blame for fouls from that distance. First time I've got a score prediction right for many, many years, so quite pleased with myself. But even more pleased to see the club sitting in 3rd place in the league. Long may that continue. COYS!!

  9. I did say on another thread that I thought there would be less draws this season and how it all panned out would depend on whether those potential draws were turned in to wins or defeats, so far we're on the positive side of that equation and long may it continue!

  11. There is some amount of shite posted on here, we are all guilty, but THAT has to be the most preposterous for quite some time.

  12. Nope, still surely the time to ask for evidence that we are the next ‘Third Lanark’ 😂

  13. These players, IF true, would I be right in assuming they are, at best, fringe player so, therefore, it makes perfect sense to get them off the books? There's lots of "stuff" you post that might, or might not, be true but you really come across as desperate at times. Just my opinion you understand.

  14. Just goes to show how momentum in a season is important, their slide needs to be arrested soon as no one is too good to go down if they can't get results.

  15. I don't agree as beating Livingstone, albeit it usually difficult games, wasn't a "surprise" result. It is what it is, it's been the performances that have been very pleasing. I just mentioned on another thread the way we are playing, and it's still fairly early days, compared to the snoozefest under Goodwin, has been very pleasing. Results are "key" but the performances have been much better, and from a manager that some wanted binned after 5 minutes in the job.

  19. To be fair he offered a fan a boxing match a few seasons ago so I don’t think professional and mr wardrop are two things that go hand in hand.

  20. Don't want to guess, just name the two Directors. Has Wardrop resigned from the club Board of Directors or only from 1877 club. If he has resigned from the main club it would seem rather unprofessional to make the announcement in the way you are claiming prior to an official announcement.

  25. We have lost another good St Mirren man. I’ve had it confirmed that director Alan Wardrop personally announced his resignation to the 1877 club yesterday. Told he was quite emotional citing personal reasons. I also have it that he has had enough of two of the directors. I’ll let you guess. Been shown online proof that Paterson has been made redundant and told more academy cuts being made. He is a huge loss. Results are great but even the manager is talking of having to move players onalerting other clubs to our need for money.Surely now time for the doubters to ask themselves serious questions.

  26. Apologies, I meant to ask if their season is over , rather than state it is. That said, my thoughts are actually with all those new fans hoping to see at least another challenge

  28. Season over is a tad dramatic. Relegation is certainly not impossible as they are really struggling to score goals. It's in the balance TBH. They are not just losing games they are really not even looking like winning or getting themselves in a position to win. Scored 5 and conceded 12 is the worst in the league, along with only 5 points from 6 games. The saving grace is they are only 4 points from 6th so not isolated but with every passing week that could change. After a very good League Cup start this has been an eye opener.

  29. The win against livi cancels out the motherwell defeat and the win against again celtic cancels out the st jonhstone defeat (albeit minus another goal). Would be happy with a draw against the zombies but a win would continue my laughter at our start to the season.

  32. Big weekend next weekend. All the teams who can overtake us (Hibs, Aberdeen, Livi and Hearts all have very winnable games while we’re away to Rangers. To make matters worse we’ll be without Ayunga and possibly Strain, Main and Brophy. Big challenge for us. Bring it on though.

  33. They get results because they are bloody difficult to play against and if you aren't up for it they will catch you out. What we have now is a team that can keep going at it and that showed today. I think the player recruitment has been pivotal in the fortunes of club as most have already played for SR and know what he is about. Maybe thats what was wrong last season when he took over and we looked awful. Big critic at time(me), humble pie now. I would expect one or two to move in next window and to be replaced by others who get SR and can push team on.

  35. Love that we won today, but f**k me that was not a game of football. We went down to their level too as it was tough to watch on both sides. I never really knew how much I hate Livi, until today. They don't play football at all. It is dire to watch and I can understand why their away support is so small. Paying for a season ticket to watch that is one thing, travelling and paying like 30 quid a game would be tough to swallow. They have finished in the top 6 and we haven't before. They seem to be able to unearth some massive guys who Bully, elbow, block, do dirty shit, but not play football. Even as big massive guys go down acting like they have been shot and playing up for officials to take it all in. They are not a professional football side, but a professional wrestling side. I would love them out of the division, but they get results. Sent from my IN2023 using Tapatalk

  36. If we were being really really really greedy, that performance and result against St. Johnstone is becoming ever more annoying.

  37. Good to see Grieve score and perform well but I'd play Main and Ayunga every week before him just now. Grieve for me has more goals in him than Brophy and will develop Today showed for me how much Main has improved since Robinson came in. We missed him today.

  38. Agreed we said that the spirit to not give up and push on was great. Good crowd today for 5300 to turn up with 5000 being buddies shows that a winning team brings in fans.

  39. Today’s late rally more than makes up for the ridicule on here. At half time I heard from an academy parent that the assistant sports scientist a Mr Ford has left. But much worse head of goalkeeping and coach Ross Paterson has been made redundant. Paterson is another long serving employee who has left with no public thanks on the website. The parent told me the players and their families are dumbfounded. Paterson was very popular and well respected and was known to some since he ran the community coaching side years ago. We were also told by a staff member that behind the scenes pressure is intense and that forced changes are being openly discussed at all levels of the club. A director is about to resign due to boardroom unrest. Our club tells us nothing and our best people continue to leave and not be replaced. Apparently Dean Lyness has left as part of desperate cost cutting with no acknowledgement. It’s obvious the club does not want to draw attention to all this and SMISA are silent. It’s great the team is doing so well, my son enjoyed the last 15 minutes today as much as I did, but don’t let that blind you to what is going on. Any word on the dome?

  40. Ach, mostly agree with this. I though the first half was terrible, but the second half made up for it - three goals, a missed penalty and a sending off, plus the sweet late victory.

  41. This is the sort of day when you begin to believe we will have a decent season. The game was murder to watch until we scored. I thought we were well off it and got sucked into a game dictated by Livingston. Referee was dire and bought every trick they brought and did nothing to protect our players. However, the goal, the missed penalty and then the winner so late in game was pure magic to watch. We don’t tend to get anything from these types of games . Tonight l am ecstatic.

  42. Not a pretty performance from us but once again the players dug in when it mattered and got their reward. I never look forward to matches versus Livingston, they are turgid and anti-football. David Martindale certainly has them "well drilled". It makes me wonder how he'd be with better resources and proper footballers at his disposal.

  47. Tempted to go to this one. I don't like giving the Old Firm my money, but it's closer to me than a home game, and I have a lot of Rangers supporting f(r)iends, as well as 3 season ticket holding neighbours. Plus, if we play like we did on Sunday, then we could get a result.
