  1. What a hilarious thread!! You would think the board were going to kill the second born of every St Mirren supporter!!! Get a life guys FFS. Even a suggestion the hopeless fans council should have got involved. I would admit St Mirren's PR has been non existent for years and this could have been handled a bit better but take a deep breath count to ten and realise no one has died. The over reaction from the usual suspects is embarrassing. If ever there was a thread to suggest fans should not be involved in the running of a football cub this is it. One even suggesting this game may be important cause we an still finish 4th!! What planet are some of you on!! To me this is the best solution as Rangers fans would have bought tickets for the family stand in large numbers. Moving ST holders(a few dozen at best) and the Panda club into the Main Stand where the vast majority will be St Mirren fans seems perfectly sensible to me.
  2. Well they certainly don't seem very good at figures. The 17,000 wealthiest people in the country account for 15% of tax raised. With a £15 billion pound debt and the costs incurred by independence these people would have been targeted by the SNP to pay more in tax. I'm not sure many of them would have hung around to bail the SNP out after their lies and broken promises. it would have been left to the hard working Scottish public to have paid more in tax and public services would have been slashed. Frighteningly there would have been no going back. Doesn't really bear thinking about!!!
  3. I'm so glad you do not waste your 'personal resources'. More than 13,000 posts on a St Mirren forum may suggest otherwise I'm also pleased you can think for yourself and have managed to enlighten us all with the fact that we are all going to die. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  4. The debt is not the big issue for me. The fact the SNP were prepared to gamble with Scotland's future based on volatile oil prices and try and tell us we would all be better off is unforgiveable. They would have said and done anything to get Independence and to hell with the consequences. Surely the people of Scotland will never trust them again.
  5. I realise you may find it difficult to think for yourself or have your own opinion. Easier just to quote a blogger with the brains of a wee ginger dug! But I've seen the light, It's all the fault of the big bad Unionists. The SNP based its economic plan for Scotland on the price of oil. Something (even by your own supporters admission) they have no control of. No one can deny that. No one can also deny we would have been heading for shit creek and there would have been no going back had the silent majority not won the day.
  6. And the 15 billion debt would have been cleared by then would it? The point is we would be in huge debt and would have the added cost Independence would have brought. That would have meant huge cuts in public services and tax increases for everyone. The game is well and truly up. No one will believe the SNP figures again.
  7. Brilliant!! So by your own admission the SNP figures were based on something they have NO control of!!! From the white paper...Assuming onshore tax revenues in Scotland follow the path forecast for the UK as a whole, they are projected to grow by approximately £5 billion (10 per cent) in real terms between 2011/12 and 2016/17[43]. The games up guys. The Scottish public can't be fooled by you all for too much longer. You can fudge it, tell everyone who disagrees with you they are stupid and don't understand, talk about the NHS in England but the figures are devastating for those who still want Independence. I wonder what the figure would have been with the added costs had Scotland become an independent country!!!! Thanks again to the silent majority for saving us from DISASTER.
  8. The figures are devastating for the idea of Independence. Scotland would, if Yes had prevailed, be now preparing for an independence budget which would deliver huge cuts in spending or huge increases in tax or, more probably, both. It took the Scottish electorate generations to realise how hopeless the Labour Party were. Lets hope it takes them a little less time to see through the lies of Salmond and Sturgeon who would have sold their grannies to get Independence. No doubt the Braveheart and Braindead Brigade will blame Westminster but lets be honest the projections made in Alex Salmond’s White Paper were the economic equivalent of forecasting that St Mirren will win the the Champions league in 2017!!! Thank God for the silent majority. What an absolute mess we would ALL be in without them!!!
  9. The Irony of Shull posting 7 times in 24 posts on this topic is obviously completely lost on him!!! The usual suspects started already on this thread just backing up what Div says. Full of Sado's and morons unfortunately and impossible to have proper discussion about anything without it turning into immature nonsense.
  10. FFS!!! you couldn't make it up. Is it little wonder we are in such a mess. Would be funny if it wasn't so serious!!!
  11. We were poor today but we won and right now 3 points are all that matters. let's be honest under Ian Murray we were in real trouble of being in the bottom two. Under Rae we look like we can finish mid table as he seems to have them better organised and more difficult to beat. In his Post Match quotes Alex said: “We wanted to try to bounce back after the disappointment of last week. We thought we did okay last week and probably deserved something from the game. It wasn’t a great spectacle today. I thought the first half was pretty poor and the only bit of quality we managed to do created a couple of chances. “We’re just trying to encourage them to do that and in the second half we asked for a higher tempo and it was slightly better but there’s obviously room for improvement. In terms of what the boys are bringing to the table in terms of effort I can’t ask for much more. “I was talking to someone downstairs and I think it’s been a while since they won three home games on the bounce. I think the actual goal was worthy of the three points. I thought it was a brilliant goal, good link up with both strikers and it was a great finish from Shankland.” Seems to me we have someone who knows what he is doing. We all know the quality is not there but he looks like he will get us out of trouble and I believe he can take us to the top 4 next season.
  12. This topic sums up Scottish Football and it's fans. Most have forgotten that its meant to be fun and entertaining. Barcelona play football, but not as we know it!!!
  13. To be forgotten you've first got to be remembered for something!!! He is typical of why St Mirren find themselves in the position they are in. One of the dozens of players offered contracts in the last 4 or 5 seasons who should be nowhere near a black and white shirt.
  14. Liightweight heart of a smartie and will never be a footballer in a million years. Like many of Murrays signings.
  15. ....Woman's Darts BBC Thursday night The world number 1 took 19 attempts to hit her first double and finished with 4 doubles from 40!! One leg was won on the 34th dart Her opponent who was the 9 times world champion was only marginally better Comedy Gold!!!
  16. How someone can get so upset about supporters buses being asked if they would sell a 1 pound scratchcard beggars belief!!! If you don't like the idea don't buy one. If the buses decide not to take them then fine. Simples really. Maybe you could enlighten us with your ideas to raise cash for the club? Mind you it's so much easier to snipe from the sidelines.
  17. That should be the end of it but having watched the original poster make a complete fool of himself with posts in this thread I doubt it!!!!
  18. I think you will find it's a fans council initiative. And you believe wrong. Just another example of people coming on here shouting their mouth off without knowing the facts. This link explains http://www.saintmirren.net/pages/?p=50103 If the supporters buses don't want to take them then they only need to say no thanks I presume. Have we really got to moan and make a song and dance about everything. Some people aren't happy unless they are moaning about something!
  19. Is it possible that they have all been brought down from within the dressing room? Just asking.
  20. You should know by now that people on here don't let the facts get in the way of what they want to say!! Chick Young talked him up on Radio Scotland as the type of character needed at the club. That probably resulted in a few people having a punt on him, hence he is now favourite. Lets just hope they get this appointment correct. The survival of St Mirren FC as a full time club may depend on it!!!
  21. Yep. Gone from St Mirren to relegating Queen of the South to being manager of the only amateur team in Scottish football. Its all been up up up!!! Get him signed!!
  22. Yeah he certainly sounds like the man for the job when you consider what he's achieved in the game since he has left us. A year out the game followed by managing Queen of the South who were relegated to division two. He declines a contract extension and spends almost two years out the game before getting the job at Queens Park where he has won 30 out of 80 games and currently sit 4th in the worst tier of Scottish football behind such footballing giants as Annan, Clyde and Elgin City.
  23. That second half performance was as bad as anything I have seen from a St Mirren team. We got what we deserved. Nothing is improving!!! Gave the ball away very very cheaply and just punted it forward for most of the half. Four teams trying to stay out bottom 2 and make no mistake...we are one of them!!!
