Another shit one is when a game is level at 2 - 2, they refer to it as Desmond (as in Tutu).

Was at a sportsmans dinner last night in Kilwinning to raise money for local Scouts group.

Peter Martin, Tam Cowan and George McNeill were the speakers. Peter is excellent at being the MC, very quick witted and picks out his prey from the audience early on. Tam was outstanding. I had heard he can sometimes be a hit or a miss but was on top form last night with his non PC humour. For the auction he brought a signed Motherwell top which one of my mates won for £80. Decent price.

I was also sitting at a table with Alan Mahood. For an ex-ton he was a decent guy with some amusing stories.

I've been to a few of these nights and would say Peter Martin, Tam Cowan and Alan Rough have been the best speakers.

    Any other recommendations?

I mind around the mid 80s when I was about 16 me and a mate got chased down Murray Street from a couple of Celtic fans, we left the game early hoping to avoid them coming out the away end as we were heading home to Feegie but ended up in the middle of thousands of the fcukers,
Anyway the further we ran down Murray street the further away from the Celtic fans we got so we decided to slow down and let them catch us up, I'll never forget there faces when they realised they had isolated themselves from the rest of the fans, so us being very hospitable Fegs decided to give them what the wanted and ended up punching fcuk right out them, also remember a couple of older Celtic fans laughing as they walked by us saying well done lads the daft cnuts got what the deserved....😂

Leaving Tynecastle after a  2 nil defeat in the early 90's, heading back to the bus we were confronted by  few Hearts casuals. One guy on our bus took a couple of punches. Police arrived and broke it up.
Said young guy, while walking to the bus, snapped every car aerial off that he passed. Must have had about 20 or so of them.
I found it amusing back then but would be f**kin raging if it had happened to my car.

Negotiating the bridge at Easter Road post match on any occasion was a “story” in itself. A truly terrifying experience as a teenager.
I’ve been back to ER twice in recent times for the first and second times since about 1985/86. It was a weird feeling that it was no longer a scary place.
Coming out of the most recent game, there was a small group of young Buds walking up ER singing, “Jack Ross is shaggin Stevie Mallan’s burd”. Jimmy H and I commented to each other that it was changed days and you’d never have done that in the 70s or 80s. It was very much scarf tucked away, Heid doon and get out of Dodge.

Ricky, I would hazard a guess that it'll be all the fixtures that Dougie Imrie got yellow carded and where the bookies noted 'suspicious' (i.e. ludicrous) betting patterns on Douglas Imrie (Hamilton Accies) to receive a yellow card. IMO there's a world of difference between a professional footballer sticking a £10 bet on 4 aways on a fixed odds coupon and one who attempts match-fixing. Imrie's a f'ckin peabrain and let's hope he gets charged, tried, found guilty, and jailed.
Wage thief as a St Mirren player too.

Great battling performance. As usual Foley was superb. Cant remember Hladky making a save. Thought our 2 full backs rose to the challenge. Was talking to Foley and Hodson in the executive club area and they were saying. Conor being subbed was precariously was feeling his hammy. And the two others were impact injuries and should be alright for Sat. Great 3 points. On to Killie. Coys

I don’t rate Mullen as a starter but he’s a good impact sub. Plenty of energy, a pain in the ass for tiring defenders, and crucially, while not a major goalscorer he can pick a goal out of nothing as he’s willing to strike from range when he gets the space to.

As I say above I would never start the lad, but he can still change a game later on. Ffs he’s got to be better than Andreu.

Hope I’m wrong but I’ve got the fear for Wednesday, they are finally starting to find form whilst we shite the bed continuously. Gonna be a shit fest of a game. We need to stop being so nice to opposition and start showing some fight.

Well, we, surely, have to look at this game as a chance for points.
They, Rangers, were honking, again, today against Ross County who were worthy of a draw.
Goodwin should be getting us right up for this, a great chance to get points that most didn't see coming and give us such a boost.
Definitely worth a punt when the odds come out.

Lets not forget, Hamilton play on a totally crap pitch, and all teams have to adjust, they also have defenders out and they are going into this game having conceded 10 goals and no wins since we came back.

This is a team on the slide, and we have to go for it, 3 points is a total must as lets not forget,. we don't want 11 th again either

If Accies lose tomorrow, which they should do, then Wednesday night becomes massive.
If we can beat Hamilton then it would effectively move us 7 points clear of them when factoring in goal difference. We would also remain within striking distance of the teams above us.
That was a really hard sequence of post Xmas games and we now move into a run where we should be looking to pick some points up that will put us in a good position for the run in.

Never going to happen. Sometimes managers have blind spots for their favourites and Obika is a favourite. Never dropped or subbed no matter how mediocre or bad he is playing.
Jim complained after the game yesterday that we need to make the ball stick in the final third.  And if it ain't working Jim why wait until the 80th minute to change it and not replace the guys who were predominately at fault and sub Ilkay the only guy who was taking the ball to Aberdeen?

He should have scored but it wasn't a simple tap in and can be forgiven.

What I struggled with was how easily he was brushed off the ball in every challenge, and how little he was able to win the ball or hold it up.

He had been improving, but that was a very poor display all round.

Cooke should have replaced him at half time... He has a contract to play for and a point to prove!

Very good defensive performance but we offer f**k all in attack.

    Obika shouldn't be missing that.

    A change required in attack.

Well, we're not Barcelona that's for sure. You can tell Jim works closely with Gus MacPherson - and it'll work, we'll stay in the league just like we did under Gus all those years.
10 years this year since Gus got punted as the club tried to "move to the next level"... if we stay up this year I wonder what the next level up is.
Onto the game, McCarthy is a find... Watching that game if you were told one CB came from LOI and one from Norwich you'd probably guess wrong.
Shame to see Paul McGinn go, he's one of our best performers every week in whatever position he's asked. Like Hladky he's worth more keeping him for 6 months for free than a measly 5 figure sum just now.
Midfield it's hard to comment on, both midfields spent 90 mins challenging 50/50s and watching the ball sail over their head. Durmus provided moments of spark we sadly lack.
Upfront as usual we are toothless and can't make the ball stick. I don't like to see individuals getting stick and not all strikers are there to score goals, some are there to link play, win headers, drag defenders out of position, etc... but when you can't do any of that or finish the 1 chance you get then questions should be getting asked.
  25. Thanks
