  1. It is a season of unprecedented opportunity though isn't it? I mean lets face it. St Mirren have a 15 point advantage over a side that can't afford to pay wages over the summer and who are going to face signing restrictions come the start of the season. With so many positions unfilled in the St Mirren squad and with season ticket money in the bag - could Gilmour and Co use the situation to cut the playing budget to end the season in profit? And could this be a season for Danny Lennon to blood youngsters - if the are good enough - into the first team?

With only thistle left to keep our heads above you may have called this one correct SD,, but i hope not.....

  2. Being a big fan of Montrose, the town not the team, I heartily agree about Frosts yonder next to the town hall. Used to go in it every time I was up that way. Glad it's still on the go.

That's the very one Rick,,, i ate there every lunch time the steak bakes were dynamite,, the wee woman who worked there said greggs

were opening a shop in the town she looked a bit worried, i wasn't up there long enough to find out if they did.....

  3. This thread has taken an nasty direction, back on topic.............................

I'm not a big fan of many big bakeries, we support a small local bakery who produce good produce which we drive that extra couple of miles as we are happy with the quality of food.

Even if it's for morning rolls I make the effort as the rolls are great and the people are very nice.

More shops and staff should remember that they are there to provide a quality service and the majority of people will respond to this with returning for repeat purchases.

Wait, this isn't really on topic is it? lol.gif

Would that be pie bobs in arbroath or frosts in montrose, those 2 bakers are pure quality, i worked up

that way for a while last year their the best bakers iv'e eaten out of, there's fcuk all like them down here......

greggs are total shit in comparison.....

  4. I agree with everything here, Graham Carey has been wasted by Lennon big time, he had so much more to give that we never seen. If true that Lennon has fallen out with players then i would rather we punted Lennon to be honest, worrying times ahead for us.

Come on jj we all know your feelings for carey are strong good on you mate,

but the keep carey get rid of danny crap stinks of desperation,, geez a break....

  5. Shame about young carey, great left peg, scored some smashing goals, and his game was easy on the eye,

but how long can the club wait for a player to become consistent, he's had 2 years get himself a regular place

in the team and failed, i think danny has got this one correct...

All the best to graham, but i fear he,s the type of player who could fade away from the game at a young age,

    but i hope im wrong...

  6. Im finished with gardening, the other week i was out the backdoor cutting the grass when the wuman

next door started banging her window and shouting get tae fcuk away fae there,, 2 mins later she was

round at my front door, you should have seen the look on my face when she threatened to go to the

police and report me for stealing clothes off her washing line,, tell you what i nearly shit her knickers..whistling.gif

  7. Apart from the odd camping or caravan holiday to sandylands or seton sands, most of my best memories

as a kid was the old street bus runs down to ayr or saltcoats they were pure magic, the whole street would

pile on to a bus and head to the seaside, the weans would go down to the beach and some of the auld yins

would head straight for the bozzers and get totally pished, brilliant day outs...sorcerer.gif

for some in our street it was the only way they'ed ever get to see the seaside.

did everywhere have these bus runs or was it just a feegie thing....

  8. Because its 20 past 1 in the morning and its a ridiculous conversation I'm now part of, all because I asked why he did it.

I need to go to bed! I've just even told we're signing John potter tomorrow and quite frankly I feel sick!

f**k me dave, iv'e never been this scared going to bed since i used to watch the horror double bills on a saturday

night about 30 years ago,,,,,, mammy kin i sleep in your bed,,,

  9. Free speech or not, religion and politics should be kept away from football or at least st mirren park

as a boy 30 years ago i went to love street every saturday with my best mate (my next door neighbour),

but when it came to monday morning we had to go to different schools which used to piss us both off,

whether the FREE PALESTINE chant was a joke or not, keep that shit away from our club, it makes me

proud that our fans dont go down the HULLO HULLO or HAIL HAIL chanting many of the old squirm

wannabees sing, it makes me proud as f*ck to be a buddie,,, COYS,,,
