Iael18 reacted to Sonny in W7/North Bank Treatment
Different era and different circumstances. I too was North Bank however in those days there was no seating and folk could move anywhere in the ground during a game (except to Main stand). In fact once seating was introduces in the North Bank a lot of the atmosphere vanished. Now the law states you must sit and are we are restricted to the stand we purchase a ticket in . Argument about viewing the game still exists - people standing in W4 restricts the view of those on either side of them.

I was a North Banker (a real one ) in the 70s and 80s. As you know we commanded the central area of the covered terracing at LS. . At that time all the older "bus diehards" had moved to the fringes of the covered terracing to allow the young ones their time.. IMO the singing section should be central in the west stand , and the selfish old "diehards" should remember they were young once !

Iael18 reacted to div in Samson to Sunderland
Under contract with us until June 2021 and so highly rated by the manager that he threw him straight back into the team after injury, and made him captain.
Every player has his price of course but I think it would take a silly bid in January to prise him away from us. He wouldn't get a game in that Sunderland team right now either IMO.

BLA BLA reams of Cr*p for pages and pages...
How bored are you guys?
You certainly know how to bore others....
Give it a rest .. .. . .
Threads are supposed to be about a specific topic or at least have some sort of tentative link …. it would be good to try that...
In the meantime - start a thread called Supporters, fans, definitions and drivel

this whole fan / supporter thing is just divisive nonsense, trying to put a definition on it is a complete waste of anyone's time, by one of said definitions, despite attending matches since I was 7 years old, because I don't have a season ticket and don't go to all matches home and away I am a fan and not a supporter, don't know whether this is intentional arrogance or just a failure to appreciate that the depth of feeling someone has for their club can't be measured in purely material expenditure.

That one I can answer. St Mirren Active was the twitter page I started to promote active/vocal support, off the back of that a few of us got together to create the singing section. Had been standing together at away games and basically the idea was - why can’t we do that at home? A lot of folk didn’t know each other before the group section, mostly grew via the internet. Facebook and twitter in particular.
When I created the page on twitter I had no idea it would turn into the “Northbank”, as it’s now called, in W7.
So the fan group is the Northbank. I try to focus on promoting positive support (there is plenty) from our support as a whole.
In my mind we’re all one- the Northbank (in general) start the singing, but would love it if we eventually had the whole ground going. Despite nonsense like this - I feel like it’s getting there.
definitely last post this time

Would be interesting to know if there is a structure to The Northbank/W7, without naming names

I'd just like to know what the group is called to be honest.
Is it St.Mirren Active, The North Bank Aggro, W7, or the Urban Cookie Collective?

Do you know the person from W7 who posted on twitter that GLS was a weapon pass it on. Some of these young guys need to grow up, or just f**k off. Posting personal abuse while hiding behind a keyboard is just pathetic. If he’s got a grievance then grow a pair and contact GLS personally and then enter into some dialogue like any sensible fan would do. All this negative publicity does neither the fans or the club any good.

Nothing much more to add to this that hasn't been said already.
The police started this by contacting the club. I don't think the club did anything untoward in confirming to them that an individual was a season ticket holder.
Did the club also pass over an address? No idea. Does it matter?
I know the police sometimes ain't the smartest, but I'm sure they would be able to find someones address out without having to ask the football club.
Having done that and made their home visit to Josh, which I personally think most of us agree was entirely wrong, they've opened up this can of worms.
The police started this. The police. Not the club.
And yet the club is getting the brunt of the anger on this, and it's spiralling way out of control.
We now have a very unhappy W7 group trying to defend themselves against some of their fellow fans, we have a board that is under attack from some fans, and we have everyone else sitting in between wondering what the fuck is going on.
Hopefully George can help broker some peace here and some common sense will break out. This is, to quote Renton, an absolutley shite state of affairs.

Best to stop beating that particular drum. W7 have been given privilidges and encouragement. You have an opportunity to lead the way by example in Scottish Football. Suggesting that it is OK to follow others to the bottom isn't a sound argument. Doesn't mean that I approve of what any other team does or may do. Keep aiming for the top not the populist bottom and W7 will flourish and grow. That's my advice.

Iael18 reacted to div in The Return Of The Sin Bin
I've spoken to and seen comments from a few ex-users of this forum who no longer visit for various reasons but the recurring theme I get is that people are just fed up with the utter shite that is posted on here, usually on a really repetitive basis, from a small number of users.
As such I have decided to resurrect the Sin Bin. If you suddenly find you are no longer able to post in this section of the forum, look for the Sin Bin section where you will be free to post as usual.
Going to run this way for a few weeks and see if there is any mileage left in the forum, or if it's run it's natural course and it's time to put the whole thing in the bin.
Enjoy

Iael18 reacted to pozbaird in How many seats do the bigots get ?
Is it a cunning one though?
Personally, I don’t think my view is asking for utopia, nor do I want no OF fans near the place. Celtic, Deadco, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Killie, Partick, Motherwell.... all likely to bring big supports to our place next season. What’s the capacity of the North, 1600?
That’s how many tickets should be available to all these clubs.
Our town, our team.

W7 are doing a great job in getting the atmosphere going, although sitting in W3 we can hear W7 but not always very clearly, sometimes W4/W3 are singing different songs to W7 and we can also hear songs started in W1/W2. Personally the more singing and atmosphere created the better!
Totally agree about the music drowning out the fans though!
