  1. Short-term in that he may only be filling the gap until new owners come in.
  2. I normally enjoy our posts, but don't get this one at all. Are you saying you wouldn't give Jim Goodwin an honest opinion? I happen to think JG is a very good appointment, but if I thought he wasn't, I wouldn't hesitate to say it in his presence. This post smacks of playground admiration for the school bully.
  3. Fuxache, can we at least wait until Tommy gets a few gubbings under his belt before we crucify him?
  4. This looks like a cheap, short-term option, designed to initially save a wage, while allowing prospective new owners to appoint their own man without incurring heavy costs in paying off a new incumbent. Having said that, we were not that far off having a good season, so perhaps a small change will have more chance of success than wholesale changes, and so I wish TC and his staff all the best. None of this changes the fact that I think Danny was treated badly.
  5. So, let's ask the obvious questions, what should our expectations be of the new manager, and how long should he be given to achieve the set targets?
  6. Now that is a very good question. I guess I'll cross that unlikely bridge if and when I ever come to it.
  7. I take your point, but I was originally including the Club and everyone associated with it when I said "we".
  8. DL has shown more dignity in his handling of this situation that we deserve.
  9. Did I mention that I saw Jose Mourinho in Asda Linwood this morning?
  10. I've supported this club all my life and always keep coming back, regardless of what the Board decide. However, I have held back on renewing my season ticket for next season in case BF does get the job. If he does, I'll not be back until the usual suspects on here manage to hound him out.
  11. The subject question of the poll was "Who would be your pick". My "pick" from the selection on offer was Stevie Clarke, but it would have been Jose Mourinho if he had been an option, (that might be a slight exaggeration to make a point). However, if the poll question asked had been, "Who do you think we will get?", my own answer would have been Teale, Thompson or a combination of both.

  13. Like the guy with a phobia about German sausage, I fear the wurst.
  14. Barry Ferguson??? Pile of pish or absolute truth, my response would be the same. No, no and thrice no.
  15. The thought of "giving someone else a shot" quite frankly scares the shite out of me. I've asked this before and not had a decent answer yet, so I'll ask it again here; who do you think we could attract, given our current standing, our current budget and our current ownership uncertainty??? This is aimed at everybody still wanting Danny out, in case Norman thinks I'm having a pop at him because I quoted him. As for it not having been a very good season, that has, and always will, apply to at least half of the teams in this league. If we had all been asked if we would be happy with 7th at the start of the season we'd all most probably have said no - we have top 6 ambitions. But what would we have said to an offer of 'guaranteed' 7th place - against the gamble of possibly being top 6 or possibly being bottom 2? I keep reading about Danny's disastrous start to the season, and have to say I agree wholeheartedly that the Summer signings and early results (especially QOS) were abysmal. However, a season in our league lasts 38 games and it's where we finish at the end of that programme that matters. In our case, this season, if it does end up being 7th place, I'd suggest that DL has learned from his mistakes, has things running well right now, has brought a couple of good players in recently in Wylde & McGennis, has a good defensive base with Dilo, Naismith and Kelly only going to get better and better and has a degree of confidence showing on the park that we were not showing in league form last year - even when we had just won a major trophy. So, all-in-all, I'd say we are in reasonable shape for looking forward to the next season. I personally hope that Danny gets a two-year deal to take us forward into that next phase.
  16. Totally agree - especially if the lose the play-off.. Also, I'd enjoy watching the Championship dog-fight between the two Edinburgh clubs and R*ng*rs for the one guaranteed promotion place next season.
  17. Sad to see it happen to someone so young. I lost a good friend to the same illness yesterday too, and he only found out a month ago. Live for the day.
  18. Killie and Hibs are so dire right now, I wouldn't fancy either of them to stay up via the play-off.
  19. Christ, I really can't believe the negativity on here sometimes. The type of thing we specialise in??? Give me ONE example of us getting relegated from a relatively safe position. Edited to add that Hearts have just gone 4-0 up against Killie.
  20. And I could get a phone call from Megan Fox offering me free blow jobs for a year - but neither of those is actually going to happen. (Megan lost my number)
  21. I for one was not in favour of sacking Gus, so I don't fall into that category. However, getting rid of Danny, if we finish seventh, will seem unbelievable to fans of other clubs around the country. I'd be amazed if Ross County sack Adams even if they lose the play-off and go down. In fact, I'd be amazed if any of the other clubs in the bottom six part with their managers at the end of what has been a very competitive season, and some of them have bigger budgets than we do. Also, the suggestion that Danny should go based on a direct comparison with Gus is a nonsense argument. Two wrongs don't make a right.
  22. I've still to see a realistic suggestion as to who we would get to take over. Shouting for the head of a manager who finishes in the highest Premier League position the club has acheived (and I believe we will) is going to look pretty dumb if we go down or into the play-off next season.
