  1. Only the SPFL could come up with that. So if it's the 3rd or 4th placed Championship team that qualifies to play the 11th in the Premier League, they will have to play a total of 6 extra games, four of them before they get to play Hib... erm.. whoever finishes 11th.
  2. I already discussed how Jim being targeted in this way could affect him next season, (see The Jim Goodwin thread), so rather than repeat it all here, I'll just say Google for Roy Barry, Dunfermline Centre Half, and you'll see what can happen in this game. You'll also see that this kind of witch hunt - and that's what this is - is nothing new.
  3. Iceberg hits Titanic (Irish Times)
  4. A guy I worked with offshore lived in Methil. One night he was on a night out with the lads and fell asleep (pished) on a train and woke up in Edinburgh. When he got off in Edinburgh he thought, "f**k it, I've come this far, I might as well go to Ireland". Don't ask me the timescales of how he got there so late at night, but I do know he was in Cork for 3 days before he thought about phoning the wife. Wonder if he's still married?
  5. As often as people say otherwise and I continue to disagree. I'd reckon that's within my rights?
  6. So was Basher, but he was still popular with the fans
  7. The obvious flaw is that it lets you go back in and vote again, so if you can be arsed you could sit at the pooter all night voting for your favs. I might just vote 500 times for Gary Harkins.
  8. And in that time he got us out of that division
  9. Killie would actually now be rock bottom if Hearts hadn't been deducted 15 points. They are dire and we should hopefully make their position worse when we gub them on Wednesday 7th May. I totally agree with what DS said about Tesselaar. I still want it to be Hibs though. We won't get Boyd if Killie do go down though, as he's most likely off to Newco.
  10. 2-0 Hearts at half-time. The second leg of the fourfold could be in the bag already.
  11. I'm not asking anybody to chose. I'm asking who people would prefer to see go down. My first choice would be C*lt*c, but that's not going to happen, so I went for Hibs. I don't like them, I felt they robbed us a couple of times last season (solely down to Leigh Griffiths) and, most importantly, they are the team at the bottom most likely to improve next season, so I'd rather be facing the other three again.
  12. With the finances Hibs have at their disposal, and having brought in a new manager - who would have been many fan's choice to replace Danny - are we not doing reasonably well to be above them in the league, and also ahead of Killie who have superior resources? As for too little, too late, 7th is not too little, and until the remaining three games have been played, it is not too late for five of the bottom six clubs to avoid the drop.
  13. I just wonder how much longer JG can survive playing in Scotland. Referees are watching everything he does and expecting the worst. Other players are deliberately setting out to get him sent off. Next season could be an even bigger nightmare for him than this one has been. Anybody else out there remember Roy Barry at Dunfermline? A hard but fair centre-half who got hounded out of the Scottish game because of a reputation he hardly deserved. Right now I'd say JG is in about the same position, or possibly worse, than RB was in when that happened to him.
  14. Bad refereeing and strong old firm bias. Example? What about the Scottish Cup replay against C*lt*c after we had held them to a 1-1 draw at Parkhead. Tom McAdam rightly gets sent off for gubbing MacDougal off the ball, so Danny McGrain deliberately breaks MacDougal's leg in revenge and doesn't get sent off for it. As I recall, the ref initially signalled that Frank had dived. Then he gives C*lt*c a dodgy penalty to give them an equaliser to take the game into extra time. We were brilliant that night and should have beat the team that went on to win the cup. That's the kind of crap I've had to witness over my entire 56 years of following this club. At least we did win the Anglo Scottish Cup back then, and that was no mean feet when you think that no other Scottish club managed it - and remember that both halves of the Old Firm tried and failed. How do you think we'd get on against Sheffield Utd and Bolton these days? We'd struggle against Bristol City now probably. Magical days to be a Saints fan back then.
  15. I didn't put us in the poll so Elvis has nobody to vote for.
  16. I might be alone on this one, but I'd much rather see Hibs down than Ross Co. The main reason - though not the only one - being that next season's Championship would be a cracker with the 2 Edinburgh clubs down there. It would also make it much harder for R*ng*rs to win promotion.
  17. Funny how circumstances change your perspective. I've never much like Hearts - going back many years. However, in recent years I've come to dislike them intensely - probably having a lot to do with certain cup ties over recent years. Strange then that I now find myself an avid Hearts fan for a month, hoping desperately that they win four out of their five games after this seasons split. Their's is now the second result I look for every week. That will all change again of course on 10th May, when I'll be home again and able to watch us stuff them, in what might be their last Premier League game for quite some time.
  18. You mean mighty Gretna who only lost the 2006 Scottish Cup final on penalties while still in the lower leagues, thus qualifying for Europe? (A feat we haven't achieved for 26 years)
  19. Thommo to score the only goal of the game in 67 minutes. Crowd 7985. 940 pies sold
  20. No, the R*ng*rs to whom I refer no longer exist.
