  1. This from the guy who can't even multiply by 4.
  2. No she didn't. Margaret Thatcher was great for Scotland. That's why she won more votes in Scotland than the SNP have ever achieved.
  3. Deary me. How to contradict yourself in 3 easy sentences!
  4. We've got 3 left sided defenders now competing for the 2 left sided defensive positions plus Yaqub. We've got 2 right sided defenders for the 2 right sided defensive positions plus Williams. Seems to me that if we sign another right sided defender then we have excellent balance in defence. However, it could be that TC seems the boy Williams as a first team player this season plus we have Goodwin who can play on the right of central defence so we are maybe already sorted. We've got 3 strikers now, 3 quality young attacking midfielders plus Goodwin & Teale. Its maybe a Conor Newton type player who would complete the squad.
  5. I thought you had him on ignore? Or did the voices in YOUR head tell you who that post was about?
  6. How can it be hindsight if he's telling you BEFORE the season?
  7. no she didnt thatcher revitalised the Scottish economy loss making industries were replaced with north sea oil, financial services & high tech industry labour (complete with Scottish prime ministers, chancellors and cabinet ministers) and the snp subsequently did their best to ruin the Scottish economy
  8. I didn't think that post would generate 4 replies...
  9. you would need to know every players height and weight to work it out
  10. wow, how i wish i knew such interesting people as you drew.how the long winter nights must fly by for u and your intellectual mates
  11. indeed so the more opportunities u create to regain possession in attacking areas then the more goals u will score and the less u concede u r correct that we wont see a large scale return to long ball football anytime soon... which is why any manager with enough intelligence and character has a fantastic opportunity to gain an advantage by doing it
  12. I know barely anyone - either in my family, at work or my mates - who are voting yes. I have one mate who is passionate about voting yes and one mate at work (who, interesting, has lived in Scotland less than 2 years, originating from India) who is voting yes. I know large numbers of people who are voting no. I obviously know a lot more sensible people than you Drew...
  13. And this is what you would expect. Scottish indepedence is a passion for many people. It attracts activists and campaigners. Keeping the status quo isn't a passion - its just normal life and reality. And the other issue is the abuse that follows anyone who admits to voting no. Folk will just keep their heads down and vote no at the polls.
  14. If there is any hint of a yes vote from the polls or any sign of a yes bandwagon, theere will be a big swing to the no vote on actual polling day. Large swathes of voters will get cold feet.
  15. I believe the final result will be massively different from the polls... in favour of a no vote
  16. We dropped 6 points to Morton that season and were pipped to teh title by 6 points... But then again, Morton finished 6th that season and were actually leading the title race at the half way point in the season and had a side with many great players, including Andy Ritchie who I believe won POTY that season... I remember looking at some old Paisley Daily Express' in the library many many years ago and had a look at some of the papers at the start of that season. We had in fact not won any of our first 4 league games and were knocked out of the League Cup by lower league Hamilton at home (we beat them 2-0 away but somehow managed to lose the home leg and get put out on penalties). The paper was doing a survey of Saints fans about the "crisis at Love Street". One fan told the paper that it was the worst Saints team he'd ever seen. Now let's remember that just 6 years previously we had effectively finished 29th in Scottish football... The turning point that season actually came when 2 expreineced players were dropped and 2 kids put in the team in their place. The guys dropped were John Dempster, a £30,000 signing from Queen of the South and the experienced Andy Dunlop. The 2 kids were the untested Mark Fulton & Peter Weir...
  17. deary me, u really r desperate for my attention!having a pop at me about my comments on a player who doesn't play for us and who r manager hadn't signed! shows the lengths your happy clapping os going to when u start defending signings we haven't even made and which players have i been critical of? Go on, name just one... i don't want us to sign Clarkson. Why on earth cant i voice my opinion. For all u know tc may not want him either. clown!
  18. incorrectthe purpose of the long ball is to get it into the attacking third as quickly and as often as possible them battle for possession. two thirds of all goals come from a move which begins with a regain of possession in the attacking third. This therefore renders the passing game is unnecessary. Indeed, it reduces the number of times u will get into the attacking third and increases the liklihood of losing possession in a dangerous position.
  19. that may be because of the players currently available rather than a desired tactici hope it is the desired tactic however
  20. do u need to have managed a premier team in order to have an opinion on this forum?
  21. one of my little gimps who follow me around the forum looking for my attention
