Hes only after a wage these days. We went out our way to sign him a couple of years ago, showing him round the club and facilities and he opted for hearts without a sniff of any of what we had done. No thanks

The difference this season (apart from mclean) id that we are not dicking about waiting on players to let us know their future. The mclean situation is slightly different as we are due some sort of development fee. We wait too long, we miss out on potential replacements. Im glad Tommy and the coaches are pressing ahead and identifying players.

Partick havent just lost 9-10 players from their squad and probably wont add as many players as us. Last season we made an arse of a similar contract for Harkins. The board will be instructing to spend wisely after the disaster scenarios we have found ourselves in the last few seasons.

As much as i rated Dilo, we have to move swiftly for next season and the longer we are left waiting for response from players renewing, we could be turning our attention elsewhere. Im glad TC signed up Ridgers and resolved the keeper issue early.

How long has mclean been given to decide on his contract? Will be looking at replacements or will we be going down the gowser/harkins path again?

We had to pay the likes of Guy, Imrie, Grainger, to name a few to leave early from their 2 yr contracts as they werent up to standard.

As much as i liked him, Mcgowan was paid well over the odds in his final contract. His departure could potentially fill 3 spaces in the squad. You say the board dont care though if ur memory spans back as far as the late 90s till present, u will find this board cares a hell of alot, so much so they are spending within our means and keeping the club you support alive. Hasselbaink wanted three times his wage at st mirren to stay on. Boards fault again that we are not stupid enough to accept these demands? How much do you actually think was in the bank after we sold the old lady and had a new stadium built? We are not even at pre-season and pampers brigade are out in full force.
