    It's great news that Newton has signed again but if he gets injured then we're back to square one with the midfield being overrun! I know I'm being pernickety but we really should have 2 players who can do such an important job. If Robertson isn't deemed good enough to do it then whys he still at the club picking up a wage!

    I would imagine that Robertson isnt on as much of a demanding wage as most of the first team, therefore he is a good squad player at a low cost compared to have already left in the summer.

    I still think he hasnt had a consistent enough run in the team.

    Would not be surprised if Naismith starts at right back in the absence of suspended Vanzy. If he plays well, there should be a challenge for vanzy to pish his way back in.

    I think with newton coming in, this may push mcginn out to the left and netwon taking centre, to allow reilly to support up front.

    We budget for 11th every year. This is fact.

    I still get the impression the board are using this season to blood the youngsters whilst we have a 15pt starting cushion, but how many times have I seen slip a lead? If this is the boards vision then it is a big risk if you ask me, especially when the dans are under the impression we will be replacing departing players.

    As much as a talent he is, transfer values are getting way out of hand.

    Bale is a joy to watch at times, but like Neymar, he has that 'cheat' side to his game diving about, which he could do without.

    What's the point? Do I need to point out the obvious that 3 of them helped us win a Cup last year.

    All of them scored in the final although admittedly one of them scored an o.g.

     

    Alternatively, ask your employer what the point of having staff you can't sell is.

    I think fans need to change their attitudes to this sort of thing.

    In this day and age, no employee should be bought or sold under any circumstances.

     

    When we get these loan deals it's best to think of them as temporary employees.

    Prime example why loan deals are suitable....Dougie Imrie; Lewis Guy; Grant Adam etc.

    The money spent on Imrie alone between transfer, wages and payoff wouldn't have been cheap. The only difference between him and Guy was that we knew imrie was tested at this level, though unfortunately it never worked out.

    Oaksoft, your completely right here. The contribution made by our loanees played a magnificent part in our cup success and is a less risk option.

    We have no idea if its an improvement or not ,we have nothing to gauge the quality of the opposition.The players may have LOOKED a lot better ,but they were playing part time ,sixth division dross .Its brutal but true

    You are either too young to realise the level of club you support, or old and insane. If you are looking for champions league football, regular league title competing positions, then best to look elsewhere.

    If you want to stick around for the rough ride, your more than welcome, though success isn't a regular thing.

    On a last note, this is pre-season...look at it from the observation of a 4-5 week training camp where every game is treated as a fitness and tactics workout.

    Good signing, should be two years tho, been down the 1 year road with Hasslebaink and Tess, But good player if he stays fit,

    I think his injury setback will have played a big part in the decision of a 1 year deal.

    Macgregor is back, with mair and naismith backups and potentially Goodwin if need be. Sean Kelly has also been deemed as a centre half and Barron when fit also. My guesses are that is what we are sticking with.
