I'm sure that rumour was quashed over on Twitter by someone involved at the club in some capacity.

That was my thoughts too. I'd imagine from the timing of the Kibble involvement tail end of last year, this is their first involvement with the annual accounts, so it may have been flagged during that process.
The club must not trust anyone if they have had to make it public themselves so they can avoid speculation.

The first half was a walk in the park though Hopkin played a blinder second half. We were in such a comfortable mindset with them sitting back first half, we didn't know how to handle them sitting so high in the second half.
There is no point of having so many attackers on at once if we can't even put away one shot on target.

I do not want JG to go, but I am baffled by his substitutions tonight.

We should have been out of sight by HT, so why make the changes he did, when he did ?

Connolly has to start the next game.

If you put Erwin on, don’t take off the guy who is crossing the ball.

Need to win well on Saturday to qualify. A draw, even with a win on pens, is unlikely to allow us to progress.

    Ultimately very disappointed.

I'd say its far too early to call, though on current form, we really need to start picking up points fast. That game in-hand against them could reveal a lot.

Gary I know where you are coming from but the shape of the team last night was the best it has been all season. The point is where do you fit Connolly in the starting lineup.Fraser was great in the middle of the back three McCarthy looked comfy on the right of centre and the full backs were bombing forward. We had good young energy in midfield with Cammy playing just behind the striker.I think we took Utd by surprise and at no time did I feel in danger. No for the moment Jim has given up on outright wingers because of the formation and Connolly will be seen as an impact player along with Kyle. The signs are good we had a strong bench last night and still have Flynn and Durmus to call on.

I really don't see the issue with Tony releasing the statement.

If people want to use a platform and their profile to spout nonsense about other clubs, then expect said clubs to stick up for themselves.

Will be interesting to see MR's views when the shoes on the other foot and Motherwell have positive cases within their squad.
To honestly think the club would go out their way to make stuff up to cancel a game, when there are consequences involved including the team being weakened for this weekends game against a club closer to us in the table.
Reading on Twitter, its very possible that players picked up the virus whilst playing against Killie earlier in the month, then again it could have been from a household member.

Chancer?????  To me he is showing great initiative and drive. He regularly writes about all aspects of Scottish football far more incisively and intelligently than Tom English who is the Chief Sports writer on BBC Scotland. His video calls with players at home are insightful. But most of all his content is not about the Old Firm - unheard of in Scottish media.
But he is only 19 with an HND so he must be shite.

Correct. The idea that Magennis wanted to stay is laughable. 5 year deal at Hibs to stay at SMFC, do me a favour.
So the club have done the right thing. Take the money, get thro COVID and see if there is enough for Jan window.
By Jan we will also know if Goodwin is cutting it and probably well before.
Goodwin has to get on with it. The squad showed on Friday evening what it can do and its his job to get that level of performance and commitment from now on.
SMFC made a silly statement to placate a number of moron fans when they should have held their dignity and let Magennis go with grace.

The decision to let Mullen go was ridiculous. He was most certainly a decent option to have in attack and given the circumstances the world is in, sometimes you're better to stick for now.

With all due respect, we needed cover in defence and we have now got one. Saves us probably from relying on one of our midfielders dropping  into  defence when we are short. Still, folk raging as per usual.

For anyone bringing up Jack Baird into conversation, he is 25 years old and he was beyond that 'potential' stage. We now have  a  19 year old who Jim  obviously trusts to come in when ready. We  have had plenty of success from players coming in to defence at this age, with Scott Cuthbert, Kirk Broadfoot  (17) and Dummett to name a few.

This is how I look at it. Kyle is out of contract next summer and can sign a pre-contract with a club from January. We receive a development fee of around 200-300k.
Club were holding out hope they could get him to sign a new deal, though as soon as Hibs submitted their first and second bids, Kyle as reports say, he was keen to speak to Hibs. As soon as a player does that he has made it clear that he sees his future elsewhere.
I can't see the club selling for any less than dev fee unless there was a hefty sell-on fee included.
I also believe that the club will already have targets that may have been prepped for January we may approach now.
Players have to take a chance when it comes, it's a short career and anything can happen. Moving to a top 4 club under a man he can trust and work well with. I really do wish him well and like Jack Ross and Paul McGinn, I hold no grudges.

From what is reported Gary, when Kyle knew interest from Hibs was there after a couple of bids were rejected, he was keen to speak to JR about a move. When a player makes noises about a move and is stalling on a contract thats been offered by our club, there is not much more you can do. It's a decent move for him and with being out for say what 9 months and already been out for a length period before that in his career, that move may not come around again any time soon.

Look at McAllister, we actually sold him with a re-occurring injury. Derby tidied that up, he never reached the heights and he's back with us not any fitter, or the player he looked like being.

Depends on how much we're talking. If it gets 2 or 3 decent additions in before the end of the window it's a win given we don't know how he'll recover from the injury.
