I dunno its harsh to blame Hendrie, look at the money teams were throwing about back then. United spent a fortune in the January window to stay up, they are still paying for it now.
He gave it his best shot, we went all out attack for the whole season, don't think he knew how to set the team up any other way .It was fantastic to watch but the outcome was indeed heartbreaking. This is a different heartbreak, this season has been self inflicted on so many levels.

A few weeks ago I was thinking ...
LET GO : Kello, Cheesy, Genev, Osborne, Wylde, Gow, Ball, Kelly, Reilly, Arquin
KEEP: Naismith, Tess, Dayton, Mallon, McGinn, Sadlier, Thommo
    UNSURE: Ridgers, Goodwin,
The rest of the young boys probably keep to see if they improve.
After yesterday there have been a couple of changes in my mind.
Kelly and Reilly move from the LET GO to KEEP. Wylde may also be a KEEP if he can play like he did yesterday in the remaining games.
And Goodwin moves from UNSURE to LET GO. Ridgers from UNSURE to KEEP.
    Two substantial differences yesterday -
    1. The defence looked the best we have had all season. The personnel changes made the difference. That also had an impact on Ridgers who looked a lot more confident overall with his handling.
    2. Thommo looked far fitter than he has been recently and worked really hard yesterday. Gave us a threat up front we have not had since last year. Rumour is that he was still struggling with his injuries. A rest in the summer and a good pre-season and I think he still has a year or two left in him although we cannot rely totally on him.
I know some players may want to leave, loanees return to their clubs etc but after yesterday I now believe we have a core of a half decent squad. If we can replace the players we are letting go with good alternatives then we are at least not too far away.
Yesterday they played as a team and fought as a team. Why did it not happen sooner? I believe personalities had a lot to do with it but whatever let's see if they can still play as a team in the remaining games (or my list may change again ).

Correct a lot of the fans are showing the same interest in the club as the players and BOD have in the fans.

I along with friends and family members have all never felt so disconnected with the club. The only peep we heard from the board is when they shat it pre-motherwell (or maybe the pressure of fans council ans smisa releasing statement) and asked us to come out in our numbers. That day we got embarassed on the park.
I agree with the OP, we are relegated and not an ounce of connection with the fans. Will they wait until its official whem killie relegate us on saturday?

The club seems totally out of touch with the support these days.
All official SMFC announcements and social media comments seem to be pretending that nothing has happened and we are not going down the relegation pan. Same 'sumptuous' dinner posts and POTY awards as if everything was just dandy. No end of a crap season ticket offers or goodwill gestures to fans. Just how many paying supporters will go to these last games? Not many and who can blame us?
The comments and abuse this tone of announcement is getting on Facebook, on here and elsewhere is horrific for the club. It's just alienating people and getting theirs backs up. Who is in charge anymore?
Whole club is a shambles unfortunately and needs root and branch change quickly.
    Sorry for rant.

Quote ... England have won the tournament a record 35 times since World War II but the FA wants their young players to face opposition from further afield. An FA statement said: "It's important to prioritise exposing them to European and world opposition."
Maybe they should send their youngsters straight into their own English Premiership.

I think the SFA should reply saying...
'It's a Protestant establishment conspiracy to get at the poor downtrodden club of the Irish Catholic immigrant. Deal with it, you tattie-munching cnuts. Now, we need to press on with finding ways to get Rangers back to their rightful place at the top of Scottish football, challenging in Europe, and getting it right up you lot of rosary bead twirling tinks.'
    Yours, the SFA.
PS. We will look at your complaint sometime next month - it's in a queue behind Craig Dargo being halved in two by Artur Boric and Will Haining being sent off at Celtic Park. Please bear with us, there's quite a backlog of work in regard to decisions Celtic have had against diddies... Thanks for your patience.

The clear out needs to start with the person who signed the players in January and was second in command to the person signing players in the summer.
It's no use doing what we done in previous years which was to clear out the rubbish and replace them with bigger rubbish.
I recall when Tom Hendrie came in he made Tommy Turner his captain. Tommy was on his way out the door prior to this. We need the proper appointment as manager.
I hope this will happen ASAP when the season finishes, I don't think we will get the right man until all the promotion and relegation issues at other teams is settled.

If the board haven't identified already who will be managing the team next season, then they are more clueless than i thought. Act now and we can start targeting players for next season.

Keith Jackson said on match day one all is not well in the saints camp. The players are a huge part of the problem and I think Gary and any other boss would have had a hard time stopping this rot with them. Maybe Gary with an older football director would work . I actually feel quite sorry for Gary he has been hung out to dry over McLean but I do think he should have been able to get more fight. It's tough one?

kevo_smfc reacted to Drew in John Mcginn Tweet
John's greatest weakness is overplaying. I agree that his decision-making is often poor, but I also think the poor quality around him leaves him with few options, so sometimes he feels he has to overplay it. The same could have been said of McLean to a lesser degree, and perhaps McGowan also. He should know where his team-mates are likely to be, and they should know where he is likely to play the ball. It seems basic stuff to me.
I think there is a fundamental issue with our training and I mentioned it after the Motherwell debacle last week. The players seem to lack any genuine awareness as to where their team-mates are, and they invariably just hit the ball in hope as opposed to with any clear design. You'd think they had just met one another. You see this kind of thing when a shower of over-weight middle-aged men meet to play fives once a week. These guys don't really know each other in the context of a team game, and that is entirely understandable and forgiveable. Not so a F/T professional football team.
I'd blind fold them and ask them to make passes to one another until they gain an understanding of shape and formation (alternatively, I'd suggest they take a walk on Gourock pier....).

Do we need to rank the players? Can't we just give it to Kenny McLean and be done with it?
ETA: done. Aaron gets top billing with Kenny runner up. As for the rest....it was pretty much a game of pinning the tail on the donkey.
