One of my favourite St Mirren pictures of all time. That's down the other end of the pitch in the final after we scored. You can see he's as delighted as the most passionate of fans in the stadium at that moment.

He grew up a fan and lived the dream all of us fans have; to walk up those stairs at Hampden and lift a trophy in the black and white stripes. How many fans have lived that dream? Not many, the fact he has will always make him a true club legend.

FWIW, I think he was singled out for disproportionate criticism. He wasn't a superstar, but at least he gave two f**ks, and was part of a team that won us the cup.

Agreed. Brian does the job of two, maybe three employees at the club.
He doesn't identify targets, though works on trying to bring these players to the club at the managers request.
I contacted Brian in the past with regards to an issue i had with my season ticket, and he replied almost immediately. Considering he has many dealings with the club,from top to bottom, i thought it just showed what a great chap and massive asset he is to the club.

i don't think Brian Caldwell is the problem at the club. And I'm not sure that making those decisions is anywhere near his remit anyway. i know some of the people you associate with have a problem with Brian, but that is based on their petty gripes about not getting Brian to do their beck and call. The guy is focussed on the bigger picture at the club.
I agree, he's not the issue he signs the players the manager identifies, restricted by the boards budget parameters. He administers the club day to day activities very well and communicates with the fans well also. He has a tough job, limited decision making capacity, mediator between dressing room and board room and running the day to day activities.

One thing is clear, Teale doesn't have dressing room, and have to say Thommo was no help yesterday, is this what Saints train, Ridgers boot, Thommo or Arquin nod on, end of move. This is what worries me. Under Danny/TC we got ball down, whats happened to that. To see a County team play us off park again. I don't think we could beat Montrose just now.

We all knew deep down when we saw gregg wylde modelling a strip designed for stoned convicts that this wasn't going to end well. Sometimes superstition bears fruit, such as those black socks, oh and yellow in a Saint Mirren strip? Someone needs to Pish in every corner of the pitch( copyright Barry fry) to exorcise the demons in our stadium. Then and only then will we improve, Mark my words.

Herbie, this is one of the greatest and most accurate posts I have read on here in many of years.
Within my family, there are many season tickets holders, who have travelled afar to support the buddies on the road too. The majority of them are so disconnected with the club now, that they cant see themselves returning until change is made.
In regards to your boy, i have a nephew of the same age who has lost all interest in the club too, and its heartbreaking to see the fans of our future being switched off so early.

The 5-0 capitulation was the biggest surrender I've seen from a Saints team for a long time.

I have a season ticket. I have had for more years than I care to remember. I won't be there on Monday for no other reason than why would I put myself through 2 hours of hell? Lost all interest. My son has too.
My question to the board is this. Do you hear us or are you choosing to ignore us?

The commercial side is an utter disgrace.
Your ability to bring through and nurture new supporters is appaling. No 11 year old die hard Saints fan should ever be so disillusioned that they choose to miss games and opt for an EPL strip instead of an SMFC one because the one they REALLY want is so dreadful.

There is nothing to play for so i agree, the players who will not be playing in the championship next season should be told now that they are not going to be kept on, play the ones you intend to keep even if it means making up the numbers from thr u20s to field a team.
Too many wage thieves amongst the lot of them imo.

my cash game by game like they used to get it when i first started going
when they have our cash up front they ,dont care if you dont turn up you have paid ,
but if same dross next season no thanks
it will hurt them more than it hurts me dont think there will be any sell outs anyway
