I think whoever is offered the job will only get a contract till end of the season, and/or if we avoid relegation they activate an extension. This might not favour many candidates on the wishlist although i think this is the fairest terms to offer considering the last appointment turned out to be a disaster.

I would say it's absolutely unbelievable that some posters on this forum are criticising Teale for the result today. It isn't unbelievable though. That's what some of our 'fans' are like.
We got humped at Celtic Park. Big deal. We've been humped there before, we'll get humped there again.
Scott Brown - who scored 2 of their 4 goals - earns more than our entire 18 combined. It amazes me that some people are disappointed by what happened today. What happened today is what should have happened.
If Celtic play well - as I thought they did - no team in Scotland can get near them. They gubbed Dundee Utd 6-1 earlier in the season for example, United are a far better team than us.
As after every game at Parkhead for the last 7 years, we forget it and move on.

Some of my greatest memories as a Saints supporter travelling to away games come from being a past member on the Cockles Wilson. I joined the bus as a member on my own and after a opening day visit to Inverness, i travelled back with many fellow buddies i now call friends. Couldn't meet a better bunch of guys.
As said, huge respect to anyone taking on such a job. You are in safe hands under Burnsy.

I think Goodwin will make a good manager, he talks very well and he is a very good motivator, but I don't think his appointment would go down well with a lot of the current squad, the same can be said for Teale and Thompson to a lesser extent, it has to be someone out with the club in my opinion.

To be fair to Tommy, it is normal for professionals in the game (so to speak) to stick together (so to..) but there does seem to be a huge amount of stories about guys like John Collins saying he was "the best coach they ever had." Without talent, nobody could have had a career in football that long.
We aren't all leadership material but you can't have a go at the guy for giving it a shot. His performances in the media have been very poor but who knows how we would react under that pressure.
On the other hand, that's twice he has been as an assistant and swiped the top job and f**ked it up.
Ach well, enjoy the golf course Tommy. We won't miss you and you won't miss us.

Thank you Tommy for all the great work prior to this season. Probably wouldn't have won the League Cup without him.
Absolutely the correct decision though. Let the hunt for the new victim begin!

It is with great dismay that my son has just informed me that both Gary Reid & Stuart Rennie have resigned as conveners of the Cocleswilson St.Mirren supporters Bus. Both are hard workers and a joy to have as Conveners. It leaves the bus with Fraser Burns as convener, the man is St.Mirren daft and more than capable of running a bus. To Gary and Stuart a massive thanks.

This appointment was always going to be a disaster, like you said most of us saw it coming.
The only reason the length of the contract is now being discussed by some, is because it seems to be the only thing holding back the BOD from doing what they should, and the fact Tommy said he won't walk for 18 months.

Sorry Dakota mate work in the west end of Glasgow and talk to him on a regular basis and there's 2 very good reasons I would not have Ian McCall as saints manager! 1 he doesn't like St.Mirren!
And 2 he is a complete fcuk witt!!

Shull is only partially correct in his opening gambit on this here forum thread, partially correct indeed.
The time for Tommy to go is NOT now.....it was at least two bloody weeks ago.
I am a proud season ticket holder and attending my football clubs matches is one of the greatest pleasures in my life. I love it, have loved it for a long time and will hopefully carry on loving it until I am laid in my wooden box. Over the years I have followed this team through thick and thin, much of it thin. Bad patches do not deter me, I am a resolute supporter of this club of ours, resolute indeed.
I did not go to the home match against Inverness.
I did not go to the home match against St Johnstone.
Why? Enough is enough. The football has been rank this season and we have a manager who is clearly unable to change it and unwilling to step down (he should have done so before now). We also have a board who have shown themselves to be an impotent force in dealing with this. The culmination of this lack of competence by everyone concerned has really fcuked me off and when it comes to all things Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co it is extremely difficult to fcuk me off.
Our club's custodians have got absolutely nothing right this season. Even the simple task of selecting a palatable strip for us gullible supporters to spend our hard earned money on was embarrassingly cocked up.

Lovely moment yesterday that I thought I would share. Driving two 8yo home after them playing football in the morning we had tam and Stuart on in the car. They were discussing Barry hearn’s comments and Stuart posed the question “what can Scottish football really learn from sports like snooker and darts. A wee voice pipes up from the back seat,
    “Accuracy?”

Out of the mouths of babes.....

I don't know of anyone who is keen for TC to remain apart from maybe TopCat on here. Non of my dozen or so St Mirren mates want him to stay.I will do a wee straw poll for you tomorrow of the dozen or so guys that sit around me tomorrow and see what the consensus is. Scientific enough?:-)
This is the first season in my many year's of supporting St Mirren that I would contemplate giving a home game a miss if something half decent came up despite having a season ticket. I was almost tempted to volunteer to take my 2 year old son to a birthday party in Glasgow to avoid having to watch us.:-(
