Good luck to Eck. A tidy player who done us a job and was part of a very enjoyable time supporting the club. I guess the manager thinks his injuries have finally caught up with him.
A leftback should be high up the recruitment list now as it’s completely unreasonable to put a 17 year old centre midfielder there for most of the season!

Rogers - Question marks over him being the new no1 or if he would be happy to stay to deputise a new no1 incoming
Anton - Would love him to stay, though the ball is in his court.
Kpekawa, will either find a club or we will most likely do what we had to do with King and mutual termination
Eckersely - Doesn't seem to be near first team for some reason. Possibly leaving too?
GMack - On the road to recovery. Very useful player when fit. I'd like to think he can chip in with contribution with the season run in.
Flynn - Used sparingly, though may have a place in the team. Unsure on if OK would keep him or not due to his lack of game time to date.
Kellerman - Looks like he may have a chance to impress. Can't play for a 3rd team this season either.
Cody Cooke - Worked extremely hard to get himself into the managers plans. Seems to pick up a few niggles though. Uncertain whether he will stay or go?
Smith - From online reports, his departure is imminent, with Dundee utd looking like his likely destination

The manager has said he wants a first team squad of 21 or 22 and that the number of players coming in will depend on the number going out.
If we assume that Heaton being out on loan removes him from the squad (even accepting we will be paying at least some of his wages)
As of right now the first team squad consists of;
That's 19 players.
You can do the arithmetic yourself.
We'll be looking at 2-3 additions at the moment, and hoping that we can move some of the above out the way to make room for more.

My thoughts are that MacKenzie is February till he is back, though he hasn't had a pre-season. Is he doing his training just now or is he still in recovery mode, i am unsure.
A loanee to fill for an injured position is probably the best solution. I think insurance for players covers at least part of their wage.
With regards to Anton, I would like to think he would stay for the remainder of the season if he is not homesick. Seems to be a very likeable guy and has bags of experience to pass on to our younger players which is a key asset in such a predicament we find ourselves in.

Jeff Kings just a young guy trying to make a career for himself given an opportunity and he's grabbed it with both hands like any one else would do. Unfortunately for him and St Mirren it's not worked out the way we would all have hoped.
Now he's got div acting like a fud because he knows he's got a big following and he'll get a few likes, retweets and a bit if attention for all of 5 mins. Pretty pathetic tbh.
Wish the boy all the best back down south or wherever he ends up.

My response was less predictable than the meltdown from those, including you, that I was referring to.In addition to folk pishing themselves at no signings by this morning, there's guys on this thread literally shitting themselves in case other loan players leave, based on no knowledge just unfounded rumour.
It's the 7th of f**kingJanuary.
We needed to get players out before bringing new faces in. Last week there was incontinence that we wouldn't move players on.
Now having had a right good festive clear out, now it's time to pish our pants cause we haven't signed anyone.

Loads of leagues are on a break. Many clubs are allowing their staff a holiday, in some cases they are only returning today. Many teams are away for warm weather training. Clubs that are still playing have just finished a busy period of games and will now be focusing on who is fit /injured which will influence who they let leave etc.
Its the 7th of shittingJanuary
We employed Gus to identify players to come to the club. If he hasn't done that then it's time to panic. There is however nothing to indicate that this is the case.

You'd think this was a new experience for us as opposed to it being almost identical to what we went through 2 years ago.
If we go another week without players coming in then it's time to go shopping for nappies.

I really appreciate the contribution that Cammy made during last season. He was outstanding. Sadly, it doesn't follow automatically that he would be able to make a similar impact in the league above. Also.. It's not just about him but how a manager wants to play and the type (and physicality) of the team. I would like to keep him but he wouldn't be a first pick so maybe for both his benefit and the team he should be moved on now. However, replacing him with a bigger/faster player of a similar or better talent won't be a given. That's football, I guess.
