  1. Yes your correct (unusual statement on here) this is my fear and no amount of bitter together propaganda is going to change those fears. I think I've seen on here someone has a tag line that suggests you were once in favour of independance what changed you? are you just the typical ex smoker that becomes more anti smoking than a non smoker or is it the fact you dont like wee Alec has he done something to hurt you?
  2. Using your figures our pensioners get approx 20% per annum of the uk annual wage or just over a third of what the government are calling the living wage ( using 40 hrs at £7.50 p/h). As you well know the UK tax system is complex and saying we only pay 20% ish tax is false the higher you earn the more % you pay so higher earners could have to work half their day before they get their own money however they will still only receive the same benifit from state pension as someone who is on low income and has paid less tax. on here everyone is splitting hairs independance could become a total nightmare, plunge more people below the poverty line and crush the NHS etc. So could staying together, austerity cuts up hear have still to come and in my opinion and its only mine if we vote no we might as well bend over and seperate our cheeks as we are going to bear the brunt of any cuts. They can dress things up any way they want but you can rest assured that come the next UK elections whoever is in power will reap all it can from Scotland and give to the lower south what it wants, better transport, better schools, better hospitals. Poverty in Scotland will rise, inward investment will fall and down south we will still be the laughing stock in westminster as they feed of the resources of Scotland. If the option of a referendum had never been there we would not be having all these arguments, there has always been a portion of the scottish population that has wanted FREEDOM. Since the seventies when the true worth of oil was begining to be found out there seems to be more people realising that Scotland has more going for it than they thought, the powers that be down south realise this and start trying to give some carrots to make the Scots think they are controlling their own destiny, in the seventies it was give them a vote on devolution but lets make it so difficult that it probably wont be possible ( I cant be bothered looking up all the figures but when was the last time that there was a clear 40% of the entire voting population in our country in agreement and could actually be arsed going and voting? for me every vote should be first past the post the clear majority of those that can muster up 10 minutes in the 15hrs or so the polling stations are open have the say) I'm too young to have known how the Scottish felt in the seventies and through the Thatcher years but it seems to me that the majority wanted more control in Scotland. Had devolution happened way back then maybe the whole complection of british politics would have been different and for me now is the time for us to vote for the future the majority of our fathers voted for back in the late seventies.
  3. I thought uk vat was 20%. And before you slag off norwegian taxation check out the rights and benifits that norwegian workers are entitled too.
  4. or that the (S.N.P.) scottish government is attracting so much more inward investment.
  5. didnt see much of the bbc news this morning but I could have swore they mention that job seekers were at the lowest level since 2003 which would kind of suggest to me that the referendum hasn't caused that much uncertainty about employment in scotland
  6. been away for a wee while any more news on Gary Holt signing?
  7. Heard on the radio that there has been a fall in the reports of domestic abuse, wonder if it has anything to do with the ugly sisters not playing each other.
  8. Dont think the BBC has anything to do with club sale unless they have a couple of swiss guys working for them. Bawjaws that started the thread put it in the wrong place and too his credit admitted mistake a couple of posts later. Now the thread seems to be a bit of salmonbuddie bating and hehaw to do with the club or the BBC.
  9. Have you checked out the percentage of Sweedish jobs which are government positions possibly the highest percentage in europe at over 33% yet you hold up sweeden as a model for us!
  10. Migrant workers by taking their british earned pound and spending or saving it outside of the UK. I cant quote dates or exact numbers (not a complete anorak like Mr Dickson) but I remember reading a study done by one of the big english universities into the health and welfare hand-outs in the uk and what proportion per head of ethnic back ground were claiming/receiving same and the percentage's were really suprising with a number of asian communities having between 70-80% of claiments. From memory the study did not count child benifit or nhs charges. Which to my apparently small and bigotted mind suggested that when approx. three quarters of any ethnic group were removing from the system there was every possibility they were taking more than they were giving. I would consider myself to be far from bigotted and against my better judgement I actually agree with something Mr Dickson has said previously in that to live and work in this country you should pass a citizen test and prove that you are willing and able to contribute to our society. I have always held the view that we are all born equal, we bleed when cut, cry when sad and need to shit in the morning, however it is the way you are reared that seperates us into aresholes, idiots and good saints fans(and other small local teams)
  11. just heard wee danny compairing himself to Fergie, I was firmly in the keep Danny for a few months and see if he can turn things around now I just think he should go asap
  12. Sweeden a country that's basic rate of income tax is approx 48% between employee and employers contributions. I'm sure employersw ould be over the moon at paying approx 30% contributions. You would also be relient on people actually paying for the private medical, education etc. with no safety net for the unfortunate children who's parents may have issue's drink, gambling etc. Sweedens population is around 9-10 million and doesn't have the socio-economic problems we have or indeed the huge quantity of migrant workers or former colonial imigrants we have draining the british economy.
