Armchair supporters and one's who don't support their local team are two entirely different things.
Not entirely.

Armchair supporters are that for many reasons.
Distance, cost, work etc.
That's really easy to say for people who are local. 🙄
I'm not getting at those in these situations.
It's the ones who just don't bother supporting their LOCAL team.

Agreed.
How many times have we sold out the stadium as it stands?
My point exactly.
Too many armchair supporters.

No point really just now. If we can sell out the home end regularly, then we should be looking at that. Spend on the team first and hopefully the need for more seats will increase with winning games( and cups) .
Agreed we should increase the capacity to 10,000+.
The problem about 'spending on the team' is that money doesn't grow on trees - we need bums on seats first.

A brilliant attendance of 5241 at St Mirren Park today.
Not enough for a team of this quality and for a catchment area of well over 100,000+.
Too many armchair supporters, is also an issue.
St Mirren deserve better.

Meanwhile, back on topic.
Against Motherwell, we will need to compete to our full potential for the whole game - not just the first half, if we want to progress further.
Kettlewell was at our game on Saturday and will have us sussed out - watch this space.
However, if we perfrom for the full 90 minutes (ie. keep on the front foot), we should get through. Our defence isn't solid enough to sit back and soak up the pressure for the whole of the second half.

According to the BBC, Eammon Brophy won the penalty for us!

St mirren defence is shite 100 % Hibs win 3-2
For once you're being optimistic.

7 minutes for a few Hibs goals.

Backs to the wall stuff now.

A Hibs goal is imminent.
That's the 'Elvis' in me speaking.
Not as imminent as I thought.

We actually let Shaughnessy leave as he wasn’t a guaranteed starter 😅
It actually makes me quite angry that the manager seemed to consider Dunne a better defender than Shaughnessy - despite the former's regular bomb scare moments/fouls last season. - not to mention his consistent vain, pretentious attempts to execute 40 yards diagonal passes a la Franz Beckenbauer, 90% of which ended up out the park or straight to the opposition.
I think Dunne's black sleeve attire is quiite appropriate in his case.

Results like today's (not just in Montrose) say a lot about the true quality of the so-called Scottish top flight.
-
Can you blame the fans for losing the plot over this dire performance in the league cup for the second year running?
We can't defend and we don't have a clue how to take the game to a supposed weaker team - let alone actually score a goal against them.
This has happened too often to be a freak result.
Can you imagine us repeating last season's top six finish?
-
Good goal by Montrose - poor defending again by St Mirren.
-
We are sorely missing a play-maker in midfield.
Iti's like watching a game of statues.

I thought we played some of our best attacking football today for quite some time - and not just for the first half only.
The players and the management team are doing an excellent job.
Individual players are improving steadily and combining as a team.
