Deekthebuddie got a reaction from St.Ricky in St Mirren v Motherwell 6th Feb 2019
Ok seems a likeable, nice guy who did well across the water but for us it's not working with him.  My main issue is we keep sticking with the same game plan and inherently end up with the same results.  He also has JN & Gus there but their presence hasn't helped.  Also, if I remember correctly, we signed OK on a 4 year deal(which I found surprising after doing the same with Stubbs) so even if we do decide to part company, we will have yet another manager who needs the their contract paid, and who will take over? Gus or Jimmy I'm sure. I'm praying that something-anything happens to give the entire team a kick in the arse and we at least get a playoff spot but realistically, looks unlikely we will be anywhere near enough for that.

Let's remember last season fondly. It was great. We had a charasmatic and successful young manager.  He acted swiftly at the end of last season and cleared the decks to bring in new and more experienced level to meet the demands of the next level up. We wete on a collective high. Then lightning struck..Ipswich and then Sunderland came calling and JR moved on leaving chaos in his wake. (Good luck to Jack by the way).
The board then sought to recruit a new manager and the list of applicants was extensive and exotic . One or two withdrew. The board (as is right) interviewed a number and selected Alan Stubbs and felt confident enough to give him a 3 year contract. Now Alan is not Jack Ross Mark 2. There is no Jack Ross Mark 2. Fans, still reeling from the summers events are split on the appointment  (we will never all agree on one). We go further in the League Cup than last season.  We are 3 points off 5th place and the manager is sacked after 4 games.
Worse is the almost unremitting negativity aimed towards the man on the forum and social media and the "leaks" from players and who knows who else.
I can handle the board making a mistake.  I can handle the manager being sacked but for goodness sake let people retain their dignity and maintain our own and our reputation as fans and as a club as a decent and family orientated club.
Best wishes to whoever comes in and to Alan Stubbs in future.

No, directors of football is a bit of a nonsense IMHO, Someone to manage a manager and/or take over the football 'operation'. A managers job is what it says on the tin, to manage the team, players, tactics, transfers(obviously with approval from the BOD for budget).  It also means another wage to pay, and like has happened in a number of clubs where a director of football has been present, there seems to be a lot of disharmony- too many cooks as they say

I agree but sometimes our bums start to squeak a bit prematurely, think we can all give a judgement on AS after the window closes and we see who we have. I was always realistic about how we would do this season but also believe we need to give ourselves an aiming point, and if we do better than that then happy days.

Seen some highlights of the game against Aberdeen and he was a bit iffy, although our inept defending didn't help, and during the Rangers game, I don't know why he came out miles away from his line when there was no hope he would get the ball.  Sometimes we pulls amazing saves out of the hat, but feel he then sometimes gets really clumsy and gives away goals.  Am I alone in thinking this or does anyone else see the same?

With regards to security, the club shouldn't highlight deficiencies, due to the current situation, would be better to mention it is being improved or the likes.

He can explore his legal options all he likes but it is inconceivable that the club could be held liable for something like this. Nobody forced him to buy a ticket right next to the goals. You would need to be as thick as shit not to realise you might get hit by a ball sitting there.
Good of the club to offer him a season ticket.

I agree.  The ground is good, has useful facilities but I don't feel any real emotional attachment to it as I did with Love Street.  Love Street was old and a bit decrepit to be honest, but during the final game, was genuinely upset- which I admit is probably a bit daft but it was sad leaving the place that held so many memories for myself, and I'm sure for lots of other supporters old enough to remember the place.  I like our ground but I loved Love Street.

I honestly miss all of the guys on here, the banter, the discussions, sometimes the bickering has me wondering whether to be ammused or concerned.  Don't get on often due to work and family commitments but when I do I enjoy seeing what everyone says.  I don't dislike anyone on here, because like it or not we all have one thing in common- We all follow our team

It was a wuman. She said she and her daughter sponsor Samson's jersey. She seemed to be ok with the answer that AS gave

I think it's fair to ask AS when he will start acknowledging the fans. He is very intense and that's fine. I don't want to ask him to change his personality but perhaps to acknowledge that this is part of the day job of a professional manager. A victory or three might sort this out anyway!

Yeah, my dirty secret is that I dont actually dislike anyone on here either. Not even Poz or Drew
Theres not enough banter though. Too many taking themselves a bit too seriously for my liking.

I remember that, an half geezer in the main stand was giving him and the team Peters and JR came into the stand to confront the guy- was standing there wondering if fisticuffs would follow.  Think JR confronted the guy as some of the shouting he was doing was a bit OTT.
Most of the games, JR acknowledged the fans (even during the dark days of his tenure)  and although some folk, who are entitled to their opinion, think acknowledging the support is insignificant, I personally believe that a wee acknowledgement to thank the support for their time and hard earned cash to attend matches, is a small but important gesture and let's the support know that they and their contribution is valued.

I have no emotional attachment to the ground, it is a functional place in which to watch St Mirren play football. I simply bracket it with McDiarmid, Tony Macaroni, Airdrie or Falkirk. Places to watch your team, with turnstiles, seats, toilets and pie stands etc.
Love Street was a dump, but it was a dump with over 100 years of history, and that means something.
