  1. The 5 minutes highlights on Scottish tv didn't show either of those incidents. Plenty of coverage of our southern neighbours of course.
  2. Rabies is a horrible disease, but not as bad as the Black Death.
  3. Mark Twains observation on religion, for the benefit of people like the London murderer. "Satan hasn't a single salaried helper. the opposition employs a million."
  4. Sums up those who run our football. Able to watch England game on tv but have to subscribe to ppv to see your own country, and been like this for quite a time now. Wont be watching either as no interest since Strachan involvement.
  5. Been playing very well recently.
  6. Betting has no part in my life, probably important to you of course, but I have not said we are certs for the drop, only that I THINK we will be relegated. I have also qualified my statement hoping to be proved wrong. I also posted yesterday about being wrong with the Utd result and admitting I went to the game after saying I wouldn't. I have noticed before that you seem to delight in haranguing other posters you disagree with. Why not just concentrate on your own views and let others have theirs ?
  7. Even an animals opinion is superior to an acronym, the meaning of which is precisely what ? Neither do I profess to be "hilarious". Most of my posts are serious. And accurate.
  8. Its nothing personal against Sutton. I know he tries his hardest and its not his fault he keeps getting picked, but he is a centre forward who rarely scores any goals. You seem to use a motoring analogy "running on empty" which I presume means exhausted. If so, he isn't fit enough for a start and is very slow, never wins a race against another player etc. I will admit to having never rated this player and groaning when he was signed again this season. If he is one of your favourites, that's your own choice but can I remind you we are bottom of the league and our centre rarely scores. Its not all his fault of course but I believe he shouldn't be in the team. That is my explanation. Score some goals.
  9. If its nor permitted to turn up and purchase a ticket unless by prior arrangement, looks like the final will be an amphibian free event.
  10. How very gracious of you to entitle me to my own opinion. I don't understand about filling my glass, I only assume its a reference to water ? Recent league form has been markedly improved (albeit from previously disastrous), but beating a Welsh league team and collapsing at Celtic could hardly be considered heroic. If that pleases you, so be it. I will concede that survival is a possibility at present, I just happen to think it wont happen, is that ok with you and some others ?. I will be perfectly happy to be proved wrong in this case.
  11. Having previously stated that I wasn't going and we would lose.... Wrong on both counts. I went at the last minute and glad I did, although it was misery towards the end. No wonder even weans have grey hair, lol. Mention of praise for Gary Irvine and Mallan, thought both were great. Goalie a bit suspect and when Davis went off, his replacement was dodgy. Refuse to take back anything about Sutton though, he was woeful again. United are a decent team, very fast, but we more than matched them. It puts us again back in with a chance of survival although personally I still think its too late. Who knows ? Win on Saturday and it could change.
  12. Just planning ahead. Bottom of the second division (which is us) is relegated to the third. Whilst its theoretically still possible to avoid this, its very unlikely in my opinion. You may very well disagree, but its only MY opinion.
  13. Might consider one for next season, it will be cheaper in the 3rd division.
  14. When I post on here I make it my rule not to insult fellow fans. I have my opinion which I don't expect all to agree with. I do realise Sutton tries hard, he is just no use any more. I also have no wish to return to the trio of players you mention. I presume you mean we have the Hobsons choice of either Sutton or the other 3 in your opinion ? Is that what we are being charged £20 a time for ? Enjoy the game and I hope we win tonight.
  15. John Sutton is Saints centre forward. Need I say any more ? Quite honestly , regardless of our improved defence, we just don't pose a threat up front. That is the reason we will be relegated I`m afraid. United will beat us tomorrow, likely by one goal. I was there on Saturday but definitely not tomorrow. Asking fans to fork out £40 in a few days is tantamount to daylight robbery.
  16. Wouldn't Danny Lennon, instead of bemoaning his cruel luck nearly 4 years ago at not having a contract renewed, be better trying to acquire gainful employment preferably in a sphere not connected to football ? Perhaps he is like many in that "industry" (lol) who are able to sail through periods - perhaps like those in the acting profession - of inactivity by golfing, punditry ( another lol) or anything else other than 9 to 5, I wouldn't know. Whatever it may be, please spare us the tiresome diatribes and join the real working world.
  17. I have no doubt that were it ever reported that an ex Saints player had died, the Celtic support would have shown the same grace. Tonights tv news will likely show scenes from Celtic ground of crowds lining the route of the cortege. Some may find it heartening to know that so many people were able to get a day off work to mourn. I couldn't possibly comment, being inhuman myself.
  18. Exactly ! I said at the time that Craig thought so highly of Scottish football that he believed English lower and non league players could do a job here. This of course was found to be nonsense, as was the appointment of Craig. Lennon latterly proved also to be useless and ought to have been removed a year before he eventually was. His subsequent managerial record proves this. I blame neither Lennon, Craig, Teale, Rae or Murray, it was the incompetents who employed them who are to blame for our current plight.
  19. Lol, even the Frog was being slightly diverted from the relegation certainty for a few days but following 2 straight defeats it seems back on track now for the 3rd division. I felt pretty sure we would lose last night as Kirkcaldy is not a good place traditionally for us and so it proved. By my reckoning we have won only 1 "must win" game so far, with the next arriving this Saturday. Had 3 pts been gained last night, who knows what kind of crowd might have turned up at home on Saturday, in the (probably false) expectation of closing the gap. This result though will have taken the wind out a few sails - mine included - and a hat trick of defeats now looks on. Given our parlous league position all season, it probably is unrealistic to have thought we can avoid demotion. Unfortunately, unlike a certain Catalan outfit we don't have 90,000 fans, the cream of S American players or the referees in our pocket to reverse the un-reversible.
  20. Alas, impossible, but there in spirit. Claws crossed.
  21. Pride comes before a fall. Having witnessed Griffiths at his Skacel-esque routine on Sunday, some may have forgotten that Rudi himself is a Raith player. The complacency following a few good results and a tanking make me nervous about tonight. I presume radio coverage will be non existent tonight as we are the only game on in the country. May have to remain under my rock until news filters through. Fingers crossed.
  22. Only saw the highlights on tv but a bit disappointed that we led until half an hour from the end but lost 4 and could have been more. Completely understand that Celtic literally threw their wallet at us so wasn't surprised at the defeat. For now, the league campaign is rather more important.
  23. That's the best Saints performance I have seen in a very long time. I admit to have written them off up to now, but this is a completely different team from just a couple of months ago. There was fight and no shortage of skill on that park. McGinn has been a revelation so far and he seems to inspire the others by example. The defence seemed much more competent as well, despite some rough tactics by Hibernian, and Stelios was tremendous. What a difference to leave GHR and see people smiling. If the team plays like this on Saturday, Celtic will have to play some to win. Congratulations to JR and the boys, play with this kind of determination and we have a good chance of survival. Incidentally I overheard quite a few Hibs fans after the game admitting they were surprised how good Saints were and deserved their win. Even Neil Lennon - despite having incurred the wrath of the crowd - was pleasantly complimentary to Saints in his after match radio summary.
