  1. He ended up playing centre half for a while in the second half.
  2. GT is rolling out the standard managerial line of "we've just got to look after ourselves" but it's beyond that now. If RC and Motherwell can get more points in the next two fixtures then we'll be detached before we play them in the last two games before the split as I can't see us taking anything against St Johnstone or Celtic. We are then looking at needing to win 5 out of 7 I'd say to have any chance of staying up and 4 of those would need tobe the games games against RC and Motherwell. Who really thinks that is a possibility?
  3. I remember a friendly at Love Street in the Bone years against a South Korean team. I think they were called Hyudai something. It was a Friday night and the game was awful. I remember Jim Gardner laughing at one of their players mis-controlling the ball and it going out for a throw. Jim was (yet again) made to look like a totally fanny when the ball was thrown to him and he kicked it straight out again fro another throw!!!!
  4. Kello Naismith Goodwin Genev Tess Dayton Mallan McGinn Kelly Thomson Gow If we can, I'd like to see Sadlier play as well and see if the ref notices that we've got 12 players
  5. Fantastic idea - will hopefully make both clubs some money. Good thinking, whoever came up with it.
  6. The co-commentator is doing my head in.
  7. I read somehwere this week that allegidly it'll take an estimated £40m to bring the staduim up to scratch and get rid of all the onerrous contracts, some of which last until 2030!
  8. What's the correct pronunciation? SAD LEE ERR SAD LEE AY SAD LI ERR SAD LI AY It's important if the boy is going to get a good song
  9. They should take a leaf out of these guys book... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31125655
  10. Good stuff. Fingers crossed he's a good 'un. Welcome to the club Kieran.
  11. St Mirren interested in Republic of Ireland Under-21 forward Kieran Sadlier after the 20-year-old was released by West Ham United accordign to the Sun
  12. We'd be better off not signing the likes of Gow. If things are as bad as some seem to think they are in terms of the clubs finances then signing Gow will be a total waste of precious cash. Yes we are all feeling a little depressed with the loss of Kenny but if the club think that by signing someone like Gow it's going to suddenly make us all feel great again then they are sadly mistaken. FWIW I think Gary will take a look at him in training and reject him anyway. He's been piss poor since he left Falkirk. There must be a few good players kicking their heels on the continent that would grab a short term deal. Lets hope we are not restricting ourselves to out of contract players that just happen to be in Gary's contact list on his phone.
  13. Best of luck to Kenny. Hope he goes on to better things. Bod have got some explaining to do and pronto.
  14. With Cheesey only 1 booking away from a suspension, GT will need to have some sort of Plan B that he's been working on. I'd like to see Naismith given a chance in there. He's had a bit of criticism recently about his inability to track back quickly enough. If he's playing at CH then that won't be a problem (unless you are Kirk Broadfoot or Darren McGregor in his first season)
  15. One thing is for sure. None of us will be far away from a PC/tablet/smart phone for the rest of the day. It's probabaly an elaborate hoax dreamed up by Div to get more money out of the advertisers on this site If only that were true....
  16. Thompson has his shorts on so looks like he's starting. COYS =D>
  17. I think I'm correct in saying that the entire annual budget for BBC Scotland (TV, Radio, the whole kit and kaboodle) is approx £80m and it's to be reduced soon.
  18. I really doubt the board would allow Kenny to be sold at the end of the window with no chance of any other players coming in - that would be nailing down our own coffin. Mind you, a £1m coffin can be quite comfortable
  19. I too am hoping for a total and utter humping of the blue half on Sunday, quickly escalating to a complete collapse of all form in the league resulting in them finishing 6th. Mind you, I doubt they'd get to 6th in the league as they'd have folded again before the season ends.
  20. This thread is indicative of our support's general malaise at the moment.....it's the day before a game and 90% of the posts in here are about the ticket prices - not much football chat going on.
  21. Anybody heard how Latouchent is doing? If he's any good could we bring him in and allow Naismith to move to CH?
  22. This January has been as low a point as I can remember in recent years for St Mirren. Nothing seems to be going our way; key players injured, the soap opera that is the takeover, the inability to take chances, the inability to keep a clean sheet, the inability to win a home game and some exceedingly dodgy refereeing decisions. We are a club struggling at the moment. I do believe that we can get ourselves out of this mess though. We've got the ability to play decent football and have been creating some great chances. A wee bit of luck could spark a turn around. We (the supporters) can do our bit too - starting on Friday night. We need to get to Firhill in numbers and back the team. We've got a great chance to put some pressure on Motherwell as we play first this weekend. I think if we can get in front of Motherwell we can stay there. Forget about the Dundee game, it's gone, nothing we can do about it now. Friday night against Thistle, that's a different game all together...... COYS!!!
  23. Fuxake that was torture today. How many good chances can we miss in one game? Performance wise that was at the other end of the scale from Wednesday night. What are we going to get on Friday?
  24. Good all round team performance last night. Mclean was the standout but I was really impressed with Kelly's shift. He was constantly looking for the ball and attacking as soon as he could - it was good to see. Arquin proved a handful at times but he needs to get his finger out to get back on side quicker. Teale's got their tails up now and you could see the positivity throughout the whole team. Could we see the home win hoodoo broken before the end of January? I do have one wee point for improvement though....everytime the ball was played back to Ridgers it was between the posts. He's not the cleverest with the ball at his feet. It needs to be wide of the posts.
