  1. I hope someone is making this very point to Newcastle as we speak!
  2. Not quite right. UEFA strongly urged the SFA to move to the Monday 2nd of sept deadline in line with almost every other Association in Europe, however, because of the wording in the Sevco transfer embargo, a change to 2nd sept would have allowed rangers to sign players in this window, thus making he SFA look stupid. They tied themselves up with extremely little foresight and many people raised this exact point at the time the embargo was put in place. Basically ever other club is suffering because of sevco's nonsense and the sfa's incompetence.
  3. Different time zones! Although no idea why ours is on a different day entirely!
  4. Fail to get a result against Thistle and I think the damage may be irreparable.
  5. Less than a 25% win record. Since 9th feb we've had: Won 3 drawn 8 lost 9, a 15% win ratio. I don't want to jump on the 'sack danny' bandwagon, but that record is a long way from good enough.
  6. Shame to miss out on Hughie Shantname but glad we're looking to get Wonin before the window shuts....
  7. This Aaron Mooy:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUKMlX5vHwI Undoubted ability, like Carey, too, odd that we now seem to have a habit of being unable to get these guys to work.
  8. Tom Hateley still available on a free, would be a very good signing IMO, play him at RB until January and then move him to holding mid if Newton doesn't return.
  9. Ash tree house in paisley is really nice, would highly recommend!
  10. Well at least enough for it to be considered "full-time". You can't expect someone to sign up to a full time contract, train full time and not pay them enough to get by. PMcG was offered less than the apprentices in my work get.Eta: not that I'm saying we should offer him more than we can afford, just saying I don't blame him for turning it down.
  11. The contract we offered Paul McGinn was an insult.
  12. Scott Burns (Daily Express) confirms its a done deal, 1 year contract.
  13. Agree with the concept of not spending too much on the GK, but disagree we should be scraping the bargin basement, whilst a stiker or a number 10 can win you points, a bad GK can easily cost you as many!
  14. Absolutely wonderful, captures the day brilliantly, I am beaming with pride and have tears streaming down my face!
  15. Paisley (and all towns) need to be creative. There is no point competing with purpose built out of town malls for retail, town centres can't win. In any case, more and more shopping will go online, the Internet isn't going to go away! Towns need to focus on pubs/restaurants and quality local produce. As well as offices and residential property around the town centre. Eta: just realised oaksoft said almost the exact same thing but far more eloquently!
  16. How much was raised? Several of big banners around the town to advertise the LCF would be a good use I'd say. Renfrew Road, Glasgow Road, High Street, Neilston Road, Gilmour St Station.
  17. Think this thread is probably most appropriate for this. The Coats Memorial church is apparently really struggling after a series of thefts and vandalism, believe there is a carol concert type thing on Christmas Eve at 7pm to try and raise some funds etc.
  18. I tweeted a chunk of the discussion, @DJ_Nicol - have a look through there - will summarise tomorrow if I get a chance.
  19. Believe it is to do with gaining a level of accreditation for the youth academy. Eta: sorry, I see someone else has responded already.
  20. I guess this is the end of the road for 10,000hours? I cant see Richard having the enthusiasm for launching another model.
  21. Thats all well understood div, but where the confusion will come in is that you have 3 or 4 boards, CIC board, Club Board, Exec Board and Interim Board. you have 3 different membership tiers, you have the 48% - some of whom will also be members of the CIC and potentially on one of the boards. You will have overlap on who can vote on certain issues and who cant, on who is responsible for what parts of the CIC and the club, you may have a conflict of interest if someone is on both club and cic boards.
  22. I have signed up because (at one point) it looked like it was going to happen and i would rather be part of it and try to make it work than to be on the outside sniping about it. I am not and have never been completely convinced it will work. That said, I agree with much of what you've said Oaksoft, the model is far too complex and unclear. That is my biggest concern, complex structures, 99 times out of 100, tie themselves up in bureaucracy and infighting.
