St Mirren V Dundee Premiership 24/1/15 3Pm Kick Off
bingboy replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I was in W6 and looked across at the linesman when the pass was made. He was a few yards behind the play and in no position to judge whether it was offside or not. With it being such a tight call I guess there's no way he can give offside if he isn't sure. So yeah he probably did get it right but it was more through luck than judgement. -
St Mirren V Dundee Premiership 24/1/15 3Pm Kick Off

I think Dundee had only 4 shots at goal all day. They score 2, one of which looked offside and the other took a wicked deflection after they were given a soft free kick. We weren't the same team after they equalised but it's not like we were completely outplayed. Our luck will surely turn. -
Robbie and his dad are both big Buddies fans.

Ross County V St Mirren Premiership 17/1/15
bingboy replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
The sending off is an absolute joke. The ref gives the foul so has seen the challenge and obviously believes that's all it was, no further action needed. Then the 4th official gets involved. I've never seen one do that unless it's an off the ball incident they've spotted. Is he a local by any chance? We used to be on the rough end of some dodgy refereeing decisions by local refs in the Highlands fairly regularly. -
He did score 2 in that game but he made his debut the week before against Stranraer.
-
Gary McVie scored on his debut when he came on as a sub in a 5-0 home win over Cowdenbeath. He was then amazingly selected ahead of Barry Lavety for our next game at Ayr.

Takeover Talks Cancelled With English Buyers
bingboy replied to oaksoft's topic in St.Mirren For Sale
Hardly fair to compare McCann with Green and Whyte. He made money from Celtic but built the club up too whereas the others basically took as much as they could from The Rangers and left the clump any on its knees. -
Oaksoft it's not a black and white case. There are no witnesses for a start and his mate who also had sex with the girl was found not guilty. Surely if she was in no state to consent, he should have been convicted too. No one other than Evans and the girl herself will know what really happened so you can't say he definitely did rape her any more than billymehmat can say he didn't. Yes he was found guilty in a court of law but he still contests that. Has there never been a miscarriage of justice in this country before?

He would rather be anywhere else than here to-oo-da-ay.

Sorry Bud77 I agree with everything else but I was right in line and Tess was offside. Before today I thought we were doomed to finish bottom. A lot will depend on what the bottom 3 clubs do in the transfer window but on today's evidence there is every chance that we could catch this Motherwell side as well as Ross County. Got to mention Kemny McLean. What a shift he put in. Along with the rest of the team he didn't desrve to be on the losing side.

Worst Time Being A Saints Fan?
bingboy replied to mad saint 2's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
That game was the following season to the one to which HHIBSS refers. He's talking about 97/98 when we needed Shuggie's goal at Stirling to keep us up. In that season we had a different disaster in the Scottish cup, losing 4-2 at Dundee after playing the whole 2nd half with 9 men. The Hamilton cup match was in season 98/99. -
St Mirren V Dundee United Spfl Premiership 30/8/14
bingboy replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Hmm he's not quite the same. You have to wonder if he would come to Saints given the current league positions of Saints and Accies. It's not as if we'd be offering him a chunky budget to work with and if we go down there will be even more cost cutting. -

Not quite Billy, we were in the 2nd division then and losing 5-0 at home to Queen Of The South, But I get the gist. If only there was a young Alex Ferguson kicking about..... -
And your initial post about not having a natural right back was in response to someone posting that the squad is now complete. So do we need a natural right back in your opinion? (Don't forget we won the cup in '87 without a natural left back at the club now) Or are you just trolling again?
-
Are you not the man who has constantly reminded us how we won the Scottish Cup in 1987 without a natural left back?
-
Think how many games he just didn't turn up in, then have a look at a dictionary definition of consistent. At his best Isma was sensational against SPL teams. At his worst e.g. Hearts at Tynecastle it was like playing with a man short. A great signing for us but definitely not consistent.

St Mirren V Hamilton Academical - Wed 13Th 7:45 Ko
bingboy replied to TopCat's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Maybe if you changed it to read "we should be beating teams like Hamilton Accies in Paisley more often" no one would disagree. -
Match postponed as per quote from official site below; anyone know why? Is it to do with Aberdeen's European match? The Scottish Professional Football League has confirmed this afternoon that St Mirren’s Scottish Premiership fixture away to Aberdeen on 16th August has been postponed. A rescheduled date for the fixture at Pittodrie Stadium will be confirmed in due course.
-
Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th of August. edited to correct my original post - I'd looked at the Challenge Cup dates by mistake.
-
yes but it's worth 10.

I've heard work on the clock is on schedule but don't take that as gospel. It's second hand information.

Can't believe no one's mentioned Steve Kinsey yet. Also for goalkeeper I'd like to throw in Jim Herriott, an international goalkeeper in his time, but a complete crock by the time he came to Saints. -
Congratulations On Achieving Safety

Just 10/1 for a 7 team accumulator involving matches between closed matched teams? Don't take any chances now Lochwinnoch. I don't need to work it out properly to now that the true odds are nearer 1,000/1 than 10/1. -

No I think you have it spot on. We will be safe tomorrow if Killie don't win. -
I agree. This is just about how we can be sure of not finishing 11th by next weekend, rather than having to wait any longer for confirmation.
