habbiesaint reacted to insaintee in St Mirren V Alloa Athletic Championship 3/10/15
Morgan came on just before we scored and then immediately Murray tells him to tuck in and he starts playing almost as a holding player. Madness

habbiesaint reacted to saintstroller in Ridgers
Think this is a poor decision letting Ridgers go away to Killie.
IMO I think he should be our number 1 keeper this season. Langfield doesn't fill me with confidence I would rather have Ridgers playing.
Fell sorry for Ridgers to be put to the bench with Langfield taking over straight away as he never done much wrong when he was playing. He kept us in games countless times
But good luck to him

habbiesaint reacted to DLBud in Murray's Meltdown!
When you've become so obsessed with something that you lose your objectivity you also wave goodbye to any credibility you might have had.
You may very well be proven right about Murray, only time will tell, but to see another thread started or high jacked every day is just becoming tedious.
We get it. You don't like the appointment. You know he's not going to be sacked so if you can't get behind him then how about giving us all peace?

Can we try and cut out the petty arguing and childish posts that clog up the forum? There are actually quite a lot of interesting points being made on the match and the current state of the team in between all the dross here.

The funniest thing about the influx of Morton trolls is that they will be utterly be gone if they lose tomorrow.
Just like they've been gone for the last 15 years. A truly pathetic football club in every measure, if I was a Morton fan, I'd be jealous of St Mirren too.

Well I would like to see us reaching the latter stages again. We are are no better than the Irish League when we used to reach finals.
To think otherwise is as stupid as the 5mins the ref somehow added on.

habbiesaint reacted to DLBud in St Mirren V Berwick Rangers 25/7/15
That was as good as you could have expected for a team that is still short of a few players and littered with young talent. We lost an early goal, which made me worry for a bit, and then stepped it up and although we could have been sharper in the final third the tempo was very good and we passed the ball well.
I keep looking for reasons not to give Baird the starting gig at centre back and he keeps producing solid performances. Well done son.
Agnew and Carswell looked the part as did young Morgan with McMullan having some nice touches.
Thommo played better today than at any time last season so I'm not sure why some are saying he's done. Get him the service in the box and he'll score goals this season.
I'd still like a keeper, another centre back and a mobile striker with a bit of stature. Murray knows we still need players so let's see what the next fortnight brings.

Unlike some I was pleased by today's performance. Scored 3, 2 chopped off and hit the woodwork 3 times. We played some good football with good passing moves. Considering their ages and experience I thought Kelly and Baird had a good partnership against two lively and big Rangers strikers.
Where it did not work for us was Thommo with Mallan playing just behind him. Most good moves broke down at the edge of the box. Thommo unfortunately is too static these days. Mallan plays better in a deeper position.
Feeling a lot more positive now that I did last week considering we should have a few more players in over the next few weeks.

Full time 3-1
Much better second half from us. Agnew's got some hit on him. Scored 2 from outside the box and would have had a third had it not been for a great save.
We're in the next round and we are second favourites to win the cup. That's all that matters really.
Squad is a few players short of ready, but we aren't alone in that regard. Thought young Lewis Morgan was our best player, he looks like a great prospect.

I actually don't think we've been too bad. The lack of strikers is obvious, but we've looked dangerous right up til applying the finish. I'm impressed with Carswell and I have to disagree about Agnew, he had 1 slip up, but looked good otherwise, his delivery from dead balls has been very good. Like I said, we need another striker in, other than that, I'm not too worried.
