  1. Lots of old Saints games on YouTube, unfortunately most of them are defeats to the Bigot Brothers uploaded by their fans. Can some Saints fans from footage of that era please put up some Saints wins from those days? Pretty please? I love watching the old games but getting a little fed up watching us lose....
  2. You could leave them on every seat in the hospitality suite as well?
  3. 9 goals this season isn't a terrible return for a supposed over the hill striker playing for the worst team in the league getting next to hee-haw service. Positivity is the answer!(Along with winning every game between now and the end of the season....)
  4. People always find things to moan about, particularly in our support. Always look for the positives in everything. people, life is much better that way! The club is a very positive thing for our club, it should be encouraged and supported by everyone in any way they can. It's in its' infancy so everything relating to it is a learning curve for the people involved.
  5. Totally agree. His workrate is inspirational and he chases everything till the final whistle. He will be a big player for us if we can get two of the midfield five taught to move closer to him and play off him. I'm happy to be corrected. Haven't seen him this season so if he's now working hard then brilliant. Looks like we've got a far better striker than the one that left which is pretty exciting because he was pretty good before!!
  6. I grew up in Clarkston, mother still lives there. Great wee place. On topic, Sutton up front on his own needs service as hes not known for his workrate, anyone know what Stewart Kean is up to these days?!
  7. My 1st game of the season. Going to hospitality for this, never been before so looking forward to it. We need a win, we're running out of games to go on a run pick up some badly needed points.
  8. Kenny Dalglish and Denis Law have loads of caps and so does Billy McNeill. By the logic of some on here they should still be playing at Liverpool, Manchester United and Celtic.
  9. Gus would come in and make us hard to beat, any new manager coming in would look to do the same. I thought the time was right for him to leave when he did, just that the board made poor appointments after Danny Lennon and we have gone backwards since. He could be the right man at the right time for us.
  10. Just watched the match. Team looked low on confidence, understandably. Lack of communication and people switching off in defence cost us. A settled back 5 would help this as would a fit Rocco Quinn getting a run of games. Though Sutton was brilliant and Naismith looked a lot better. The abuse of Hutton is a bit much, he's not the first midfielder to play a short backpass to a keeper, he looked devastated after it and it seems that he's getting abused because he's an ex Rangers player. The guy's morale is low as is most of the team, get behind them not on top of them. Could have been so different if Sutton scores the third.......
  11. Good signing. In a midfield with Quinn and Mallan next season it could be interesting.
  12. Anyone doubting Alex Rae's commitment to this club just has to look at his reaction to Lewis Morgan's goal on Sunday. GIRUY
  13. Haven't read through all of this but 8 pages on a Rangers fan going to a Rangers game on his day off, not crowing about it on social media like some others leaves me slightly bewildered. Plenty of personalities were at the game last weekend, woop-de-do!
  14. Whether you like it or not Stuart, in a Scottish footballing context the Union flag has different connotations than it has flying from a public building, as you well know. As a Scotsman who doesn't consider himself British in the slightest and would love to see Scotland independent the Union flag does annoy me. It has so much baggage surrounding it that it's no longer just a flag but represents so many different things. If you can't deal with that then that's your problem. As usual you have totally missed the point. Saints fans aren't pissed off that our players support other teams, they're pissed off at the disrespect the thoughtless actions of some individuals on social media has caused. Simple education of our players and I'm sure they would understand.
  15. I don't think a ban is needed, just some trainng and education as to what is and isn't acceptable behaviour on social media. A job for each club to ensure every player knows where they stand on this and maybe even a job for the SPFA? Social media isn't going away, it's only going to expand and sensible use of it is required by everyone.
  16. An ex teacher of mine, great character, great banter. Wound up the Old Firm fans in school something awful and they couldn't do anything as he was a teacher. RIP TomMcB.
  17. Listening to some Saints fans opinion on youth players is very dubious at the moment as these are the same fans who didn't rate current Scotland internationals John McGinn and Kenny McLean. We always seem to be harsher on our own players coming through.
  18. Went to a coaching course run by Allan McManus and he came across very well. Interesting appointment.
  19. Just to confirm, Thursday night, 9pm at the Hospitality suite, open to all?
  20. Piss poor. No desire. Webster looked done, defensive errors galore. Clangers not good enough, thinks hes a big shot but in reality hes pish. Confidence was gone after 1st goal. No leadership, no intensity or purpose in our play. We didnt even compete and this was LIVINGSTON FFS!! A shite team with no manager. Total embarrassment and an absolute joke.
  21. Should have kept Teale on, given him a full season in charge. Hindsight is a wonderful thing though!
  22. Surely there have always been lots of players who weren't good enough for first team football in the old days and this isn't because of the academy programs? Think the academy programs have to be changed, maybe, but not removed altogether.
  23. I'd love to see the inside of the ground painted black i.e. the concourses, the dull grey concrete areas above the seats etc. Make the ground look finished and more polished.
  24. Hopefully the new manager shares his philosophy as well otherwise all his work could be undone if we have a dinosaur running the first team. A club's philosophy should run from top to bottom, at all age groups. There should be a "St Mirren Way" of doing things, certain standards and ideas that all of the clubs teams should follow. Longwell personifies this, IMO, and is doing things the right way. Obviously he's not perfect, no one is, even Sir Alex had his faults, but he's doing a great job.
  25. We could do worse than have rejuvenated, more clued up Lennon back.
