  1. A short summary of our achievements under Jim Goodwin and Lee Sharp this season (so far): First victory at Parkhead since 1990 [emoji122] First ever victory against The Rangers (and remain the only Scottish team to beat them this season) and as a result our first semi final since 2013[emoji122] Longest unbeaten run in the top flight since 1968 [emoji122] First win at Tannadice since 2013 and in the same game our biggest away win in the top flight since 1984 [emoji122] First Scottish Cup Semi Final since 2009 [emoji122] First time we have made both national semi finals in one season since 1982 [emoji122] Already matched our best top flight points tally since the 80’s, and there’s three games to go [emoji122] All of this achieved despite unprecedented off field issues and a ridiculous fixture pile up in February. In September we were signing goalies on the morning of games and other such madness. It’s been far from perfect (is it ever?). But, What. A. Season. What. A. Manager. The doubters have certainly been proven wrong. Hard to believe there was a fairly sizeable ‘Goodwin out’ brigade among our support in September and October. Credit to Gordon Scott for not listening to them. Can’t wait to see how the rest of it pans out, gutted we won’t be there.
  2. No thanks. There’s much better things to be doing on a Saturday afternoon in the summer than watching the football. Let’s leave it to the winter when the weather is too shite to be doing anything else.
  3. I have no idea, I know that a few Aberdeen fans are keen on him. Think there will be English Championship clubs sniffing about too. Hope I’m wrong and he sees out his contract of course, but if he does take us into the top six then he will turn a lot of heads.
  4. Best news to come out of the club since... well since Jim was appointed actually. Still fear that he will move on in the summer but if he does we will get a big money pay out. What a job he’s doing.
  5. As if it’s up to me to explain [emoji28] We lost 1-0 to a team above us in the league and we were denied a stonewall penalty. That’s football. I’m sure we can all agree that this is the best Saints team in the history of this website. Just need to enjoy it while we can.
  6. Really? Livi finished fifth last year and they weren’t in Europe this year. Changed since?
  7. Fifth doesn’t get us to Europe of course. Sixth would be just fine and I’d take that now.
  8. Reading back on this thread pre match and thinking... Thank goodness Sir Jim is the manager and he’s ignoring all the ‘experts’ posting here. What a mess they’ve made of it [emoji28]
  9. Spot on. We beat Perth at home right enough. The Hibs thing just gets to me a bit. That former player and manager connection winds me right up. If it wasn’t for those two losses we’d be challenging for Europe. Speaking to a Celtic supporting friend of mine earlier and he said that he used to think Jack Ross would be their next manager. But now he’s looking at former Celtic player Jim Goodwin. Not now.
  10. 6th. Maybe 5th. Not for covid..?? 4th. Those two losses against Hibs really bother me. We shouldn’t be losing to shite like that and I expect us to beat them in paisley.
  11. Listen, it’s time we get a bit real. If I’m JDH’s agent I’m telling him to do nothing at the moment. You’ve got an offer from Saints, worst case scenario you sign it. Otherwise, you get better money at another club and you go there. That’s football. Worth wringing your hands over?
  12. Check this forum for the first time in weeks... first unread post^^^^ ....Reminded why I hardly ever check here anymore 🤣 Hope you’re well FS. Hope you enjoyed that today. Hope you enjoyed Wednesday too. Best Saints team in over 30 years. Thanks to Jim Goodwin and Lee Sharp. What a job they’ve done.
  13. We are closer to the top six than bottom. Game in hand on all the teams below us. And that’s despite forfeiting two games against our rivals [emoji122] And we’re in the semi of the cup too!
  14. Don’t you just love to see it. And we knocked the only team above us in the form table out the cup 🤣 These are almost unprecedentedly good times.
  15. Posts like this send a chill down my spine. Terrifying how common this view has become. ‘They’re old and they’ll die soon anyway’ f**king hell.
  16. Can’t match the 1968 team and go 12 unbeaten, can we? Surely not. Hibs are a good side that are in form and they’re at home. This manager though, this team... something special going on here.
  17. When you consider that we had a COVID afflicted squad, were signing keepers on the morning of matches and other similar madness and we’ve have had off field issues gift two of our rivals three nil wins against us... and we are STILL not in the bottom two, you are right I’m very pleased with that. If you miss me that much you always reach out on Pie and Bovril and twitter. Came back here to get that question answered, which I did, thanks HSS... see the forum hasn’t changed at all in my absence. Will let you get back to it 🤣
  18. A quite remarkable position given our well documented off field issues.
  19. Well there has. Last season was one of them 🤣 Going through the league cup group stage unbeaten itself was an achievement given our record in that competition since we won it. The fact we have also went five unbeaten against top flight teams at the same time, and four of those games were against teams who finished in the top five last year, is quite something. It’s a remarkable run of form and the management and players deserve full credit.
  20. Is there a run that’s made up of league and cup games that surpasses it in the last 50 years? If so, when?
  21. Thought that was it. Best top flight run for over 50 years, amazing stuff from the team and manager [emoji1316]
  22. We’ve went longer than nine games several times in the wee league. Didn’t we win nine in a row under Hendrie or something similar? Doing it in the top flight is a whole different ball game though.
  23. Lol at how dead this forum is. Quick question for the stattos on here though, asked it elsewhere but haven’t got an answer yet. When was the last time we went nine competitive games unbeaten in a top flight season? Is it 1968? Jim got something historic going here. Is the fantastic St Mirren info site gone for good, or is has it just been down all weekend?
