  1. I think they only post them when we win bud, so you’ll get one tomorrow. This forum still a thing?
  2. Ah well take the point given the circumstances. Good to see big Jon on the scoresheet yet again, what a player he is.
  3. I’ll be at 30,000 feet while this game is getting played. Hoping to land to find us in 3rd position. COYS.
  4. Both the old firm signed goalkeepers this summer. Either could have taken Hladky. Neither did. Maybe their scouts and managers are both wrong, or maybe he just ain’t that good.
  5. Confirmed. Wonder if he’ll get a game. Found his level I think.
  6. Not just what he’s done for us - although he ya been brilliant in all of those three games. Jak is younger and played at a higher level than Vaclav. There’s a reason for that.
  7. I’m sure a defence with Alnwick at the back would never finish 11th and need a penalty shoot out to stay in the top flight 🤣
  8. Worked out fine for us right enough. Alnwick is better than him.
  9. Ho-hum 🤣 Even I thought he’d do better than mid table English league two ffs. The reason bigger and better clubs wouldn’t touch him is simple. He’s just not that good.
  10. Jim’s juggernaut rolls back into Paisley town after a couple of away games. Imagine if we won this too? Why not. We beat the Staggies 2-1 in Paisley in November in the last meeting between the sides, a delightful late winner from our current captain Sam Foley. If we did win we would go third and - assuming Dundee Utd don’t beat Celtic - we would stay there for at least a week. Of course this will be a tough game, County had a good start to the season winning their first two games. Stuttered in the last two though. Took the lead against Killie midweek then drew and then took the lead against United yesterday and then lost. Means they’re only one point above us having played a game more. Our team will be full of confidence and I think we will do enough to edge it. I’m going to go for a fourth St Mirren 1-0 win in our last five games. Miss some chances to get the second then grind it out again.
  11. What about the double winning promotion in 2006? Keeping us up in 2004? Our first cup final in 33 years? Gus turned us from a club who spent most of its time in the second tier - one top flight season in the 15 years prior to us winning the league in 2006 - to a club who now spends most of its time in the top flight. Just three second tier campaigns in the last 14 years. What an improvement.
  12. Six points and two clean sheets from our first three games. What a start! Two of those games against two of last seasons top five aswell. What a job Jim has done. That’s us won three of our last four games one nil, you don’t do that at this level unless you’re a seriously well organised and well coached team. Question for the stattos... when did we last have six or more points after three games of a top flight campaign?
  13. Best top league finish? You need a history lesson 🤣 And his managerial career since proved we really were long in letting him go eh. Back to part time football where be belongs.
  14. Lennon only had one season against Rangers due to them going bust. His record at Parkhead was awful though. I believe he lost every single game we played there under him over a 4 year period. Remarkable consistency if nothing else.
  15. 2nd February 2019. Rangers 4-0 St Mirren Manager Oran Kearney. It was worse when he was in charge, just like our league position. Feel free to dig out the thread and I can assure you that you won’t see any meltdowns from me.
  16. I wonder if St Johnstone fans will have the same level of meltdown after tonight’s result as a section of some of our did. I doubt it. These kind of results are simply a regular feature of life in the Premiership for clubs like ours. Always have been always will be.
  17. In the group stage we have drawn: St Mirren Morton QOTS Partick Thistle Queens Park Belter of a group and all great away days - apart from Morton. If only we were allowed to go... Jim Goodwin, Alex Rae, Jack Ross and Alan Stubbs have managed us in these group stages in 4 consecutive seasons. Only Stubbzo managed to get us out the group. Surely we won’t go out early doors again..
  18. As you’d expect given the gulf in budgets.
  19. FT 3-0 Shrug. As always our season won’t be defined by our results at Parkhead or Ibrox. For us to get anything in these games we need a bit of luck and we didn’t get that today, we had a stonewall penalty turned down at 1-0. The foul was clearly in the box and the ref has given a free kick. Doubt that will get mentioned much in dispatches but oh well. Get the Celtic game out the way on Wednesday then a big one at Hamilton on Saturday. It’s games like that that will define our season.
  20. Denied a stonewall penalty theft.
  21. Never ceases to amaze me the state some of our fans get themselves in when we lose at Ibrox and Parkhead. Every single time. The tactics are correct. If we had opened up the game would be over by now. Rangers have much better players than us so the smart thing to do is keep it tight and try snatch something.
  22. HT 1-0 Going as expected really. Defended relatively well, most of Rangers efforts have been long range they’ve not had many clear cut chances. The goal was a cross that deflected in off McCarthy’s hand. Bizarrely the commentators decided it was Goldson who was about 6 foot away from McCarthy when it went in. That’s why you get the big bucks eh Clive? Long as it’s 1-0 we have a chance of snatching something. 2nd goes in its goodnight. Alnwick looks good, an improvement on Hladky too me.
  23. No surprise that McAllister has been dropped, he was hopeless last week. Be interesting to see how Sheron does and where he plays. We will almost certainly lose and we may get a doing. Just want to get these two games out the way before the real stuff starts again against Accies on Saturday.
  24. Hahah this aged well. There’s a reason no other Premiership club wanted Danny when we released him: he isn’t good enough for this level. If/when Obika leaves us I suspect he will have his pick of 5 or 6 top flight clubs.
