  1. My brother in law just bought a ticket for away end. Only 9 tickets left. Give them a call of you want one.
  2. Any idea when Dumbarton ticket office opens tomorrow? A friend wants to come and said to give them a call first thing but didn't know when it opens.
  3. Met a mate this morning who said we were close to signing Lee Erwin from Kilmarnock. Former Motherwell player who went to Leeds a few years ago but didnt work out for him. Hopefully he signs and Jack does what he did to Reilly and turns him into a goal machine.
  4. Left a message and got a phone call back 5 mins later. Only a handful of tickets left. Ticket purchased and flying solo. Now to tell Mrs Zo that she has the kids all afternoon. :-)
  5. Been phoning Dumbarton every hour or so but always going to answer phone. Will leave a message and see if they get back to me.
  6. Is the St Mirren ticket office open on Saturday? Do you have to buy tickets in advance or can you pay at the gate?
  7. I thought that was a really enjoyable game and on another day if we had played a better final ball we could have scored one or two more. A very open game and very end to end. I still don't think we have still quite hit the heights of last season which is very exciting. I think that is because Mallan is missing from the middle of the park. The idea of replacing McGennis with McShane and having Mullen drafted into starting 11 could be an option to use in future games as McGennis is more box to box as people have said. Sammy had very important saves and kept us in the game as a one goal lead is always precarious. I thought Baird was brilliant again today, as was Davis. Stelios showed today what an asset he is to this side despite many claiming he has limited defensive attributes. He can defend well when required and is an asset going forward. Reilly is a goal machine and incredible to be sitting on 20 so early in January. Talk of Motherwell sniffing around him with the money from Moult to spend and the need to stop their rapid slide down the table. A big decision for Reilly and St Mirren if Motherwell or someone else come calling in January. Hope he stays as he will have plenty of decent offers in the summer if he keeps up this form. Sat in family stand today and to see close up in the second half how easily Morgan was gliding by players just a few yards from the touchline was memorable. This guy will blossom at Celtic under Rodgers and playing with better players. Exciting times to see Morgan play for the buds. Despite having watched us play Dumbarton I might try and wangle a pass to the game next week. United hit for six and saints top of the table six points clear is very pleasing.
  8. Just watched the first episode tonight. Was really good. [emoji106]
  9. This is pure speculation from a Falkirk supporting mate at work who says that Loy has recently split from his wife and is on the sauce a lot hence the reason for his loss of form and first team action. I cant say the story is definitely true but this is what my friend was saying he was hearing from several of his Falkirk supporting mates. He said they are payjng him around £2k a week which I find hard to believe. I thought his lack of game time was due to issues from his past at Dundee with Hartley.
  10. I think a few Celtic supporters will pop along to St Mirren Park this afternoon to watch Lewis. I met my Celtic supporting neighbour last night and was talking to him about young Lewis and telling him to come along today and watch his new signing in action. He said he might give his St Mirren supporting mate Hammy a call and come down to the game.
  11. Found this magazine while cleaning out a drawer tonight and spotted a very young Lewis on the back. It's a pretty awful kit but nowhere near as bad as any Celtic top. Excited for young Morgan getting a big money move and good he is coming back to the buds with us getting some money in the bank but a tad saddened by the fact it's Celtic. It's good to see our youngsters rewarded for their hard work with big money moves. Hopefully an endorsement to any youngsters that St Mirren is a club worth signing for. We have seen some really good talent come through the club in the last few years from McGinn, McLean, Mallan, McAllister and Morgan plus Naismith, McAusland and Kelly. The club's academy has scouted and produced a good number of very talented youngsters all thanks to David Longwell and co. Hopefully McManus and co can be as fruitful in the coming years. I do think Morgan will do a broadfoot and continue to play out his skin for St Mirren and do his best to get us promoted this year. I don't see his high standards slipping. It does break your heart slightly to see him go to Celtic though.
  12. Happy New year Victor! Excellent! My bold suggestion yesterday was just pure nonsense then. Game on! Can't wait for the game tomorrow.
  13. With the amount of rain forecast over the next few days there must surely be a strong chance of this game being off.
  14. With Fraser Fyvie out injured for rest of season and Willow Flood picking up what looked like an injury that could keep him out the side for a while there is plenty to be positive about while United struggle. Our long term absentees are back ie Davis, Gary Mac and McGennis and will continue to improve the more games they play. Still buzzing after last night and I was sober. I was so tempted to ditch the car after the game and head to the Bankhouse but last time I was there I ended up in Vienna's which tells it's own story. :-(
  15. Wonder if we might have a wee word with Falkirk about getting Rory Loy on loan for second half of the season? Still can't believe he left the St Mirren dressing room for Falkirk after he witnessed in second part of season. Assume they must have offered better terms, possibly closer to his home and maybe an emotional attachment to Falkirk in some way from his time there in the past. We can't afford to pay a tranfer fee and match his wages but could take him on loan and pay his wages which would be high but when Reilly is missing we don't have too many other striking options.
  16. Its not just Lewis Morgan who has a big future in the game. The way Jack Ross goes about his business you can see him having a pretty bright future too. Like Morgan we are lucky to have him and should enjoy him while we have him. It's great to hear the genuine passion he and a number of the players have for the club. It's not a forced thing it's a genuine affection for OUR club. Love listening to him chat about the buds.
  17. I think we could see our biggest away support at Cappielow for over 30 years. A minimum of 2,000 will travel and probably closer to 2,500. We took 1800 or so back at start of season and can see a considerably larger number going this time. I don't think we will be as complacent as last time and will be a much more disciplined and clinical side in this game. Morgan will continue to be on fire and on cloud 9 after it is announced he has signed for the hoops and we will be £300k richer. Thought about getting train down but mate was saying you generally have to wait about an hour after the game to get a train home. Don't have a ticket for the game so might be best to take car and head early to avoid delay in getting in as it's going to be extremely busy at the turnstiles.
  18. Could young Kyle be our answer to the shouts for a tough tackling midfielder? I remember people saying his natural position is central midfield and will maybe fill in the coming weeks should McGinn and McShane get injured or suspended. Injured both McMullen and Flood last night so obviously not shy in the tackle. Loved that interception in front of West Bank with minutes to go when he charged in and kicked the ball into touch preventing a United attack. Got the West bank on their feet.
  19. I thought banners were banned for a period of time? Assume common sense prevailed and it was removed. Well done to all the people involved in what looked like another impressive flag display last night.
  20. My mate text after Morgan's first goal to say that he loves Jack Ross's tactics 'Just give the ball to Morgan". It does seem to work. A special mention for Stelios who I also thought had a great tidy and effective game keeping McMullen and co fairly quiet. He grafted away well and gave a controlled defensive performance. He didn't offer too much going forward but I think he was obviously told to keep things tight at the back.
  21. What a result! Save by Sammy could well be the most pivotal point of the season. Two average sides in the first half with conditions and nerves from Lewis and co playing their part in the early stages of the game. Better in second half despite United creating a few chances in early stages of second half but up stepped Lewis Morgan. Morgan is invaluable to us and we are really lucky to have had him and watch him blossom into a truly outstanding player. It's obvious he is off to Celtic and then loaned back to us. Without him we would struggle to challenge for the title as he is such a brilliant player. Bairdy was outstanding again and has been our best defender so far this season. He is turning in some terrific performances. Keep up the good work Bairdy. Pleasantly surprised by a crowd of 6,200 with 5,000 buddies in attendance. This team is going places and hopefully we can get a few extra bodies in the January window with the cash from Morgan and hopefully the windfall from John McGinn too and help us claim the championship title. Happy New year to all my fellow buddies when it comes to you. See you all in Greenock on the 2nd.
  22. I can only imagine as a club we wouldn't want to give United the upper hand by announcing anything too soon that suggested Reilly would be unavailable. He has been such an asset this season. Hopefully fit for Morton game on Tuesday.
  23. Mate text to say that Mullen starts and Reilly not in the side. Out with flu allegedly. A blow to the buds but a big chance for Mullen to shine.
