  1. Plan of action is for myself and Supermac to get the 10:15 from Queens Street through to Waverley then hit a pub for a few pre match ales before getting the number 25 bus out towards the stadium. I am sure there will be a few fellow buds on this early train. Can't wait for what should be a great day out assuming we don't draw or get beat. ;-)
  2. I would take him back at the buds. Only signed a short contract with Ayr United until January. Someone told me towards of the end of the summer that there was a possibility we may have signed him again. The lad has talent and will score goals. Maybe third time lucky for him should he sign again for us but don't see it happening.
  3. I dropped down to the ticket office tonight about 5:20 and the women were saying I was their first customer. I believe we got about 800 tickets and there will be almost half of these tickets available for public sale tomorrow. I think we will sell out in time but the buzz about the cup doesn't seem to have quite kicked in yet. Hoping to get an early train through to Edinburgh in time for a few pre match ales then one or two after. [emoji41]
  4. Tickets bought and picking them up tomorrow evening. Ticket office is open 5-7 tomorrow evening for anyone interested.
  5. Can't make it down to the ground today but will try and phone and order my ticket over the phone. Alternatively and probably easier I will buy online. However, my mate who has a season ticket next to me is out of the country and I was wondering if I phoned up and gave his season ticket details over the phone whether that would be enough to buy him a ticket? I would imagine we have been given between 1,000 and 1,200 tickets and can see the vast majority being bought by season ticket holders if not all of them between now and 2pm on Friday. I was wondering if the club were planning late opening hours for ticket office on Thursday or Friday?
  6. Just watched the highlights package St Mirren tv put together and they didn't clear up anything other than Morgan penalty could have been awarded as a free kick just outside the box. There was no footage of the Morton penalty incident. Disappointing stuff.
  7. I thought we played reasonably well today creating a few decent chances but didn't take them. Disappointing how we twice failed to hold onto a lead especially the penalty incident which was definitely avoidable and looked extremely soft with next to no contact. Looking forward to seeing it again on the highlights. Our next three games are of the extremely tough variety with United away, Livingston at home then Inverness away. If we are still of the pile after these three games then I will be extremely happy. Let's enjoy being top of the league for another week and look forward to another massive game at Tannadice next weekend.
  8. Another massive game today with the potential to have the best atmosphere at St Mirren Park of this season so far. Should be a crowd of just above or just below the 5,000 mark. I am going to stick my neck on the line and say it will be a belter of a game on and off the field with the buddies winning 2-1 and making up for the poor showing at Cappielow a couple of months ago. I think Dunfermline will stutter in Inverness and Livingston will win so hopefully see us go slightly further ahead of the chasing pack. We have been picking up results without playing well but today I think we will put in a sterling performance resulting in a great win and a great day all round for everyone connected to the buddies. I think it's going to be a belter of a game.
  9. Will be great to see Harry Davis back playing for the buds in the next month or so. I had a quick glance as stats and I am sure that he played 9 games for the buds in league and cup duty and we only managed to keep a clean sheet in 3 of those games. I think he is a cracking player but don't think him coming back into the team necessarily means we are going to stop conceding goals and start getting clean sheets. I think we are always going to concede more than our fair share of goals even if Gary Mac and Harry Davis are both back fully fit and playing. I think it's a by product of the way we are set up under Jack. Not a complaint just an observation.
  10. In Portpatrick with the family for October school week so missed yesterday and missing next week at Falkirk which is a great thing as I went to Morton and Dunfermline and we got well and truely pumped. I am a curse so was delighted to read we had won. Think it's best I give away league games a miss. What a brilliant result against our bogey team at a bogey venue. Reilly is a top player for us with a fantastic scoring record. What a talented player. I really like big Sutton and was delighted for him to score. What a terrific header! We really need him in about the team and will prove between now and May what an asset he is. If JR has any sense he won't be going anywhere in January. I am massive fan of Kyle and was really pleased to hear he came on for last fee minutes. What a special talent. Next game for me is at home to Morton and would be brilliant to see us still top of the league going into that one and getting revenge for our last encounter against them which was massively disappointing. If we can't see a crowd of over 6,000 for Morton game then our PR department should hang their head in shame. This is definitely shaping up to be a special season and we should lap it up. We might not finish top but looks like we are trying our best to get there.
  11. If their capacity is only 1000 then I can't imagine it would be worth an extra £5k to arrange a neutral venue that would massively limit their chances of some sort of upset. At best on a good cup day we would be looking at 1500-2000 travelling from Paisley. We currently are carrying a decent away support but can see them giving us 500 tickets and telling us to get on with it. Hope I get a ticket. ;-)
  12. No worries! I will get you one bud. My next game will be Morton at home so give me a shout nearer the time and I will bring to the game. Hope the clan are on the mend. Periscope for you it is![emoji41]
  13. Hi bud If you want I could up one for you and pass on at future home game?
  14. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Not starting McGinn is an opportunity missed by Strachan. Out hopes of progressing will be over by half time.
  15. Currently assistant manager at FSV Frankfurt. I fondly remember that game against Rangers and the crowd chanting to sign him after coming on as a sub plus the incident with his stunning girlfriend in Perth. Can't imagine we will spend £400k on any one player in my lifetime and to think that was well over 25 years ago.
  16. 3 points gained in a somewhat flat performance but a precious 3 points nonetheless. Ultimately the game was won by two of the substitutes that most would agree are and will be regarded as fringe players. It's going to be a squad effort this season to get us into the play offs or better. That was demonstrated today and that's pleasing. It wasn't a great game by the high standards set last season but it was one that got us 3 valuable points against a dogged side and puts us top of the pile after 8 games. Top of the league for a couple of weeks at least and that's pleasing. Plenty to build on and an extra couple of weeks for Davis, McKenzie and McGennis to get fitness levels up ahead of Dumbarton game. Enjoy your drinks tonight buddies we are top of the league without playing to our best and there is plenty more to come from this group of players.
  17. Would be great to get Reilly, Smith, Stewart, Duffy and Sutton some game time today admittedly not all at once. What's the thoughts play two up front and start with Stewart and Reilly then get Sutton and Duffy on for last twenty minutes? I think we will most likely start with Reilly and Sutton and play two up top. This surely is the kind of game Duffy could feature and score in as were Brechin not one of Duffys previous clubs? There are definitely goals in our side and hopefully today we get at least one more than Brechin that takes us top of the league. I have a good feeling about today and hoping to head down to St Mirren Park with my son a wee bit earlier than usual and sample the atmosphere in and around the stadium. This will be my last league game for a month or so. Mon the saints!
  18. I was there to. I drove two mates up for the game and said to them as we left Paisley that Brechin had never beaten us. Both said you are the kiss of death and we are now certain to lose and we did. We had some pretty average players on our books at that time. I think this saturday will be a different story and we will have too much for their defence. Morgan is on fire and I can't see that being any different this weekend against the poorest side in the league. Our attacking players will really fancy getting on the scoresheet this weekend. Brechin are no Livingston or Dumbarton and are shipping goals for fun. This is what I hope. St Mirren 4 Brechin 0 Crowd 3,890
  19. A terrific win when not playing particularly well and very reminisnt of the Inverness game. We seems to love playing at home at the moment. Will we get over 5,000 buds for visit of Brechin? Very unlikely with less than 3,000 buds there today. Last week Dunfermline took a few of their chances and we got severely punished. This week Queens didn't and we weathered the storm and scored two goals in quick succession to completely change the complexion of the game. Sign of a good side or a lucky side? Doesn't matter we got three points and the overall performances will improve with key players scheduled to return to first team action next month there is lots to be positive about. Hopefully United get something from Dunfermline and a saints win next Saturday would see us go back top. Plenty to be positive about and looking forward to the Brechin game already.
  20. I watched the pre match interview with Jack Ross on the official website yesterday and I am sure there was a notice on the pin board behind Jack saying that 1st quarter target was 21 points. We currently have 12 so need to win the last 3 games of the first round of games starting today to achieve that. To get 21 points from first round of fixtures would be outstanding. I can see us really struggling today if we don't start the game well and Lyle and Dobbie are in the mood. We really struggle to keep clean sheets and I see today being no different given the heavy rain, makeshift defence with a very new face to the club and Queens front two. We have been on a terrific run at home with 6 wins on the bounce but think that run might end today. I hope not but will be over the moon should we make it 7 and keep early season pressure on United and Dunfermline. St Mirren 0 QOS 2 Hopless at predictions and hope I keep that going.
  21. Thanks to Callum Gilhooley giving me a lift I will be attending today's game. I think there will be over 5,000 at this game with us taking over a 1,000. There really is something special going on down at St Mirren Park and hopefully that carries into today's game and we get a result that keeps us at the top of the league. I think Stelios might be our match winner today. Could we stay at the top of the league between now and May? That would be special.
  22. Would appear the supporters buses are sold out. Should be a decent crowd through from Paisley for this one. There always seems to be goals in St Mirren games so I am going for 3-2 St Mirren.
  23. Livingston game sounds good to me. PS Wednesday night's bibs are washed and ready for the big game . [emoji106]
