interested in following this up please if I may. Can I ask for examples you know about where kibble will make cash to the detriment of the club?
-
Seriously, I'm not aware and it would be good to know about this.
-
I'm unaware of this situation, please expand.
-
smisa and the club will always be separate entities and that shouldn't be confused
-
Is this how it always works on this forum?
-
and you in return have offered nothing apart from making things up Anyways...

🤣🤣🤣 Where am I being negative? Only tying to explain and put across my own opinion and point of view. My suggestions and observations are all positive, in the spirit of seeking clarity, improvement and understanding for all members. You sir, however, stifle debate and in turn opportunity for change - that's not positive in any sense or worthwhile in a discussion forum where open debate is the core principle of this place existing. You are a roadblock, you are unhelpful, you are a barrier... Ends!

Baz - You know that would just be daft and I'm sure you know that's not what I meant. If I may explain further? The announcement could have initially went along these lines... At the last SMISA board meeting, the board of trustees discussed the potential of awarding honorary memberships of SMISA on a 6 monthly basis or from time to time under special circumstances. Criteria to be considered for this award is for those individuals or groups who have played a significant role in St Mirren Football Club and associated activities or who have made a marked contribution to the local community. The Honorary membership will be lifetime, be as an ambassador and have no voting rights. Suggestions from the members are welcome at all times. Awards will be at the discretion of the board of trustees. 3 months later... first award goes to ________________________ enter name or names here, That's how it could work - dead easy, informative, inclusive - YES?

Some more thoughts... hopefully as a positive contribution. What might seem as ad hoc management & announcement of policy on a whim could be mitigated by prior announcement & explanation of intentions. Think most would be happy with more regular bulletins of this nature. For example informing members of intent & context of honorary membership as part of SMISA news & then 3 months later making an award would seem to me to be structured, informative & following a process. No room for second guessing that way & would become a regular & exciting aspect of being part of SMISA. Hopefully this comment received as positive suggestion.

I was only asking like! And I’m still not sure, having read everything on this thread, that I know what an honorary member is in context of SMISA.
-
There are always questions. Allowed & encouraged I’d say, in a membership environment. It’s good to be curious & have a fair level of scrutiny where there’s potential for misunderstanding of powers available to a committee or board; in particular when things appear unexpectedly out of the blue. Ill informed, guess work, defensive responses & reactions can sometimes raise further concerns where none existed in the first place. Just an observation.

Aye. You made it up. You don’t know. I understand honorary. It’s potentially a really positive & nice gesture to afford individuals or groups where appropriate & deserved. Im still curious to what it’s for & means in SMISA context. if any one sensible can shed any light on this id be grateful. Previous applicants need not reapply.
-
So you made it up? Put your own slant on it & called it fact? So you don’t know, is a more truthful response? Im still non the wiser to any of this & as you yourself agree my questions are perfectly reasonable. A nice gesture is perfectly acceptable, I’d just like to know a little more about it. Whats wrong with an honest response.
-
The facts you are aware of that you stated in an earlier response to me. Im curious to see this in a link, document or referred to somewhere or someone that you quote from or have knowledge of to state as factual. That would be helpful, thanks.
-
I’d be interested in finding out more if you can copy me a link or refer to where I can access the facts.
-
Thanks for approval of my questions, means a lot 🙂 Your reply - is it factual?

Seems a bit strange though, as a fan group saving up to buy shares in a football club, that membership would just be given away. I paid for mine on the understanding they had value. If I knew there were free memberships I would have applied for that category instead of spending my money. I am being facetious of course, however I'm still not any the wiser to this award and on what grounds it has been bestowed. (no disrespect at all to the recipients) Is this something that will happen every time we change manager, does membership last as long as the period of employment or are honorary in perpetuity? Should hall of fame members be considered, are all players to be awarded, can we back date and give out to ex managers too... Partly in jest but ye catch my drift?

The Family Stand - Open Letter to the Board
garzo replied to sally02's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Agree, High time we rethought this & allocated all home areas at St Mirren FC, Simple Digital Arena for home fans only & live with the financial consequences; living within our means with respect to our own supporters -
Can I ask what an honorary member means please? Apologies if I've missed this somewhere else - feel free to delete if I have.

I spoke to the lady about my problem with the ticket system, very nice and helpful lady by the way, she said that was interstadia nothing to do with her and couldn't refer me to anyone at the club - maybe David is the one dealing with that. I was getting fed up - 3 days trying to renew - should have been a straightforward transaction, completed in minutes.
-
season ticket renewed - nice lady at the ticket office took my money on the phone there 🙂 Still unable to log into the system though - a small technical issue but a major PR and finance issue for the club to resolve as a matter of priority. Finding new ways to generate revenue are a focus; so we are told. Concentrate on the basics before building that I'd suggest.

nope, still not resolved
