Robinson rightly emphasises staying in the Premier league as the basic ambition (as with any club) but a wee bit disappointed that there is no mention of staying in the top 6. This reflects his 'tough summer' in trying to get the players he wants and also the reality of the squad he has.
Agreed. Budget looks to have been slashed from last season. Our top 6 finish has given us vertigo. We can't get quality players to sign. Ambition lowered to yo yo club status. Shaugnessy, Brophy, Watt all gone and apart from the NI winger it's all bargain stuff coming in and all lacking fitness. We are looking at players released by Fundee and also a 4 month loan striker to replace Main. In this league budgets and strong starts to the campaign determine final league finishes - we currently look bottom 4. More quality is required. Robinson is a good manager but this looks like a huge ask.

Looks like a deals done for a forward and a lot of the young squad will be loaned out.
Manager setting the expectation as staying in the league. He confirms what we thought - the budget is tight and he hasn't been able to get deals over the line. Overall a poorer window than last season.

Appears to be a lot of interest in him with a few clubs.
Talk on Ayr threads is that York have tabled a bid.

Or offer a manager a long-term deal.
The utter negative drivel people actually post, and believe, is astonishing.
You should know drivelmeister 🤪

I can assure you we are not, you would be surprised.
Do you think Robinson would of signed a new deal had he not been promised funds being made available, we are sitting nice just now.
Good news bud. Hopefully we build on last year and get some signings over the line.

Teams that are "skint" don't offer transfer fees to other clubs for their players.
Depends on the size of the transfer fee. I mean I'm sure we could plunder Darvel.

I think we should publicly announce to the last penny what we get from every transfer .
It’s only fair that the employers & agents of any potential targets know exactly how much spare dosh we have when negotiating . 🙄.
I think it's pretty well established we are perpetually skint.

"We have protected the club and managed to get a good fee for Jay with a potential sell-on. We thank Jay for his service to St Mirren and wish him the best in his future career."
Quote from the manager, a good fee, seems a fair statement to make and no need to go into detail.
Why keep it vague?

It would be good to get some confirmation from the Club on the development fee received for Jay Henderson.

Not having that. He's a brilliant keeper. He will be a massive loss if he goes.
Agreed. Excellent keeper and regretably a big wean if still in the huff over missing the Rangers game.

To be fair , at present , it's a fall out completely based on unsubstantiated rumours and seems only to be increasing in magnitude as a result of the number of people who seem to be referring it it as such!
True but that's what close season rumours are all about. It's no Russia.

Hemmings is a replacement for Smyth not Carson.
Hope so. A fall out of this magnitude doesnt look good for Carson or Robinson.

The Zach Hemming one is on the Killie version of BAWA.

Seems we are in for Zach Hemming on loan from Middlesborough. Killie fans liked him a lot when in the Championship but he lost form. Hope we kerp Carson.

Why, is Robo going East.
The rumour of Carson leaving persists. Any updates from anyone? That would be a huge loss.

If this is the calibre of player we are looking at it could be a long season
Matty Kennedy and Kyle Magennis to Killie. Getting their biz done early - bit like us last season.
