We didn’t ‘win’ £2m. Our league prize money was just under £1.8m. Approximately £400k increase on 10th place. So, if we’re dicing with danger on the budget - that was the additional value that we were doing it for. Add on League attendances increase as well.

Worth remembering that the club waited decades for a pay day like the McGinn money. Then the Covid loan money has been and gone as well. I don’t think anyone should underestimate the financial prudence that is required at a club like Saints.

    £2m according to Google.

Think we need to trust Robbo in the players who go. Joe is replaceable. Our squad is evolving and we need to improve on what we had to go to the next level. We can't sit still as a club. Yes we will miss Joe but we say the same about others. Lets see who comes in.

There may well be others leaving so exciting times ahead with new arrivals

My worry is an over reaction to the debt scare last season. We spent money to assemble a top 6 squad and eventually won £2m for achieving that goal. I hope we don't go back to a budget aiming for 10th. Already talk of developing players rather than bringing in the finished article. Hope we are still pushing for the next level and backing the manager.

Overall a great season, albeit with an extremely disappointing end.

In the end we basically threw away a magnificent chance to get into Europe.  Last night, we just weren't at the races. Simple as that! Even before Small got sent off, Aberdeen just looked better. I don't think we would have got anything with 11 on the park.

In my opinion, it wasn't only the post-split fixtures that done the damage. There were many points we through away throughout the season. St Johnstone at home 2-2(injury time equaliser), 1st game of the season v Motherwell (Were by far the better team, but lost 0-1). There's 4 points for starters. Then after the split.... Hearts at home(injury time equaliser), Celtic away(late equaliser). Another 4 points.

We were a bit unlucky with injuries too. Ayunga, Watt and Grieve.

Oh well!!! At least we seem to have built a solid base to have another go next season.  Onwards and upwards!!!

Totally agree. Would add test we failed to turn up in our 3 games with Kilmarnock - albeit Ethan's early sending off at Rugby Park didn't help. Onwards and upwards.

Not that I’m suggesting for one minute that we deserved anything out of this game tonight, but it says everything about the standard of our performance that we’ve lost to a team as utterly shite as Motherwell. This will absolutely not be the rebirth of Motherwell. They will get pumped again in their next game.
Robinson really needs to earn his cash but finding an answer to our incredibly frustrating inconsistency.

Taylor is having a stinker, may have to think about subbing him.

For the first twenty minutes we were a feckin shambles.

Left side of saints defence need their baws toed.

We came back in to the game in the last 20 minutes, take this in to the second

half and we can get at least a draw

Taylor, Baccus, Gogic and Carson all really poor.
