  1. Wee lad and I leaving now for our last game of the season. Hope Goodie and Thommo get a runout today. Strange feeling knowing it will probably be the last time we'll both see them in the stripes. At their height fantastic players for us and responsible for some of my best memories as a Saints fan. Hopefully the Hawk can grab a goal today or even a 30 yard thunderbolt from Goodie. COYS
  2. Good result. Developing a much improved home record under Rae.
  3. We were literally on the way out the door to the game when my wife told me the laptop had been knocked over and was totally goosed. Had to abort trip to game to go a get a new one, need computer for work this weekend. Every cloud.... Hope we end up missing an amazing Saint's comeback, but doesn't sound likely.
  4. Agree with this unfortunately, but would've been interesting to see where we would be in the league if we had appointed Rae at the start of the season instead of Murray. A defeat, but steady progress I suppose.
  5. Just imagine...Getting beat 1-0 in injury time, then a sweeping move starting with a cheeky chip pass from our keeper, cutting through their team like butter, with a sliding finish from the Hawk to equalise and shut up all the Orcs in the crowd. Wild delirium from the band of Buddies in the corner as Thommo and the rest of the team go nuts in front of them. COYS!
  6. Halle fekin lujah!!! We'll take that. Monkey finally off the back.
  7. Yeeessss! Come on Saints, let's finish this!!!!
  8. Sounds exactly the same as my old man. Tommy Bryceland is always the first player he brings up when reminiscing about past Saints players. Always a buzz around the ground when he got on the ball. Skilful, clever and played with a real swagger, according to my dad. Sad news for all Saints and Norwich fans.
  9. Wee lad and I made 160 mile round trip yesterday and we did need to take extra care driving back. I wouldn't blame the club yesterday, although we were gutted it was off. Another angle was it was quite a memorable day out for my lad. He ended up managing to get a wee snowball fight with Carsewell and Naismith when we were going back to the car. The pair of them were playing some 'snowy' pranks on some teammates' motors(think the rest of team were in the dome). My son claimed that he hit Carsewell on the head, the first thing he's headered this season. Won a tenner on one of the scratch cards too, which was a bit of the petrol money paid for, so day wasn't a total disaster.
  10. Just got through from Fife after a shitty journey. The wee man and I will be gutted if it's off. Fingers crossed.
  11. We got pumped 7-1 in the 88-89 season, I think. My old man had got free tickets for the main stand at Darkheed. Think we were 1 or 2 down when Chalmers scored a great header. In my teenage inexperience/numptiness, I showed my appreciation/colours and had to endure the 'banter' from the Celtic fans as they went on and hammered us. Im sure some of them were at the 2013 League Cup semi though.
  12. Oh dear, would hate our club to be associated with him.
  13. And most of the other nutters on here. My condolences Bud.
  14. Sorry to digress from Kylie's videos, which I reluctantly watched and greatly appreciated for their artistic merits. My best pressie this year will be at SMP on Boxing Day when I see my kids' faces gazing at their new brick (got email today to say it's up and they've no idea about it). Whenever we make the trek through for a game, as soon as I park they always want to head for the Wall of Fame to see "Great Grandad's Brick". Their names will be the fourth generation up there now and I reckon they'll go nuts when they see it. It's a nice wee link between their great grandad, who they never met and the Paisley/St Mirren roots from my branch of the family, considering they're born and bred Fifers with no family left in Paisley. If my dad and I are going to suffer, then so are they.
  15. Well done the young Saints. Always sweet to put one over that mob, even if they've only been going a few seasons. Good luck in the next round.
  16. Slightly disappointed by this appointment, but obviously wish Alex the best of luck. The most important thing is him getting the respect of the players, especially the older ones. They were not playing for Murray, possibly due to his arrogance paired with his ludicrous tactics. The players have been shocking this season, due to zero confidence and not playing for the stripes. Hopefully Rae will get the players performing, whether it's building their confidence or a massive rocket up their backsides. His tactics and formations can't be worse than Murray's(touch wood). He's our manager, whatever any of us think about him or the BoDs selection process and he needs to be given time and our support. Fingers crossed.
  17. Just back too. Thought it was brilliant. Should appeal to people of the generation that bought Star Wars figures in Variety Stores back in the early 80's. Some of the old magic back, if you were into it all the first time round and much better than the last three offerings.
  18. Wasn't at the game yesterday, so don't know the full extent of the abuse levelled at Murray. In my opinion, calling him an f***ing c*** is totally out of line and unacceptable in any walk of life, but chants of, "get tae fukc" and ,"you don't know what you're doing", has to be expected from passionate Saints fans. The fans had to make their point and that's the way football crowds do it all over the country. I'm sure the majority of refs and linesmen have experienced the same, if not worse. My son and I froze our nuts off at Kirkcaldy a couple of weeks ago and Murray's post match comments directed at the fans spelled his end. That aside, he clearly wasn't cut out for the job. My estimation of Murray has risen significantly though, in the fact that he resigned, rather than holding us to ransom like Tommy Craig. He's recovered a bit of dignity and it could give him a slightly better prospect of getting another job in football. The BoD should be grateful to Murray for that at least. It is a bad time to lose your job, but hopefully he'll enjoy more time with his family over Christmas and kick on in his next career. I'm not sure it will be as a full-time football manager.
  19. Would be a good shout if we could get him, but still think it would be a big if.
  20. What is Billy Davies' situation? He's been without a club for a wee while now. I know he's a relatively proven English Championship manager, beyond our budget, but would he consider a stint with us until the end of the season(to keep his hand in)? He's been spotted a few times at SMP this season.
