  1. Yes, we were unlucky and Kelly had a great game but our finishing and the ultimate final result is completely unacceptable against a terrible Well side. We need to win these games by whatever means and we didn’t even manage a draw.
  2. Unfortunately it means that there’s next to no chance that McGinn will be leaving them this summer now, if Gerrard has just made him captain. If there was any doubt about his future there, he wouldn’t have been given the armband. We’ve been waiting a couple of years to cash in on him again, but it’s looking less likely now. Shame, as it would be a big windfall for us and I’d love to see him get a crack at a top club down there, especially a year or two ago when he was on fire. .
  3. Remember we were all foaming at the mouth about Coulson after his amazing debut (Killie??). 20 year old, fast and full of swagger. Brilliant going forward but turned out to be too raw and suspect defending saw him fall away. Wrong place, wrong time. Hasn’t played too much first team football since by the looks of things, according to Wiki.
  4. Not sure but we were the last team to win the Scottish Cup with an all Scottish team (87, not 59).
  5. Good first half, poor second. Disappointing as the first half was a good platform to go and score a few. The goal we lost was shocking schoolboy defending, ball watching as their boy came from deep and if they’d taken their chance to make it 3-2 it would’ve been squeaky bum time. We had chances too though. Strain very good on the ball, but unless he got a knock he was struggling badly for fitness last 15. At least he got more miles in the tank. Positives were we won, Ayunga, Baccus looks excellent and a few young boys got a run out. Taylor and Offord made more of an impact than Reid, but a wee bit more experience for him. Defence needs to switch on for the Well game or it will be a painful afternoon. Hopeful that Ayunga can grab us a few goals this season, preferably starting next weekend.
  6. Take that, improved performance. Edinburgh not up to much but we’ve pressed them well in midfield. Some excellent runs from Offord and Ayunga looks dangerous although could easily be on a hattrick. Midfield look sharper and all playing well. Baccus looks like a find, although early days. Defence cruising it. Hopefully we score a few in the second half to give us a wee boost for the Well game.
  7. Baccus looking like he might be worth the wait. Not top opposition but he’s looking tasty so far.
  8. These unacceptable performances will hit the club in the pocket unfortunately. Probably cost 1000 on the gate at the weekend, not to mention the next round/rounds gate money. Every pound is important to us at the moment, although the club will be saving dosh with the lack of win bonuses.
  9. Robinson said last night that the scan results were positive and he should be back to training next week (although with injections in his leg?). A silver lining to last night’s disgraceful performance, but I’m a bit nervous about his fitness for the rest of the season now. Hopefully he’s ok and can do a job for us. Alnwick and Hladky are big boots to fill.
  10. Dearie me, and we were all talking about how poor the Fakes are. Been a terrible start to the season, even if it is still early days.
  11. Ooft, that’s an absolute belter. Son suddenly looking for an extra shift at his work to buy it😂 Reckon they’re be a few buddies that are too old or round to normally sport a fitba tap who will be seriously swaying towards buying that beauty. Well done all involved👍
  12. Arbroath absolutely cruising it against the Blue Brazil tonight. Can’t see Arbroath slipping up in their other two games. Best we can hope for is 3 decent wins and grabbing one of the 3 best runner up spots.
  13. Totally agree. The loan move to Queens Park looks like it was a total disaster now. If we’d kept him with the first team squad he would’ve seen more football and it would’ve been a win/win situation with our decimated squad at the tail end of the season. He has looked more than competent in the few appearances he’s made. I think you’re right re not getting a guaranteed start for us and he’s got a big decision to make. Getting first team experience/games far out ways development games. It looks like he wants away which is disappointing as we were all excited about him developing with us into another McGinn or McLean. Just boils down to getting the best deal we can for him now.
  14. A draw would’ve made a big difference as getting out of the group would essentially still be in our own hands. Group winners and best 3 group runners up qualify. That injury time sucker punch was a real sore one, even forgetting worrying about the inept performance. The League Cup should be something that we aim to get a decent run in so not getting out the group is poor. Hopefully Arbroath slip up and we can get our finger out and start taking our chances.
  15. Was looking forward to seeing Dylan further develop on the pitch with us this season. His potential is massive and £125k seems a ridiculous price considering the hype surrounding him. When the Celtic manager is quoted saying that they’ve put a bid in for him but he has no interest in him at the moment as he’ll go straight into the development team, it all seems like it doesn’t stack up. Who knows what’s really going on but I’m sure the club will play hardball with clubs wanting him. Surely the ball is in our court at the moment.
  16. Good interview. Very positive but with a no-nonsense focus on the basics as being a given. Encouraging to see the youth system is also a priority for Robinson which should always be the case at St Mirren. Early days, but its starting to feel like this season’s team is going to be a different animal compared to last season’s, in a good way. Looking forward to seeing the new players and Gallagher has the potential to be a really big signing for us.
  17. Sounds like he’s heading for Dundee Utd. Jack ‘bloody’ Ross at it again. Would’ve been great to get him back, but you can understand why Utd and other teams in our league would be after him.
  18. Simplifying it by taking away the red detailing on the collar, cuffs and shorts and it would be superb. A good effort though.
  19. Some of his goals for us were incredible, the one against Hearts stands out. His performance at fullback against Celtic in the league cup semi win was brilliant too. The guy is a talent and the nostalgic side for a few of us probably makes us wish he was back but 33 is getting on a bit. Don’t know what his fitness/injury history is?? Anyway, we can move on from him as a rumour as we know he’s not returning now. I’m sure he’ll get a good reception from our fans when we play the Fakes until he bends one in the top corner from 40 yards.
  20. Not sure about Gallagher to be honest. He went through a great run of form and was brilliant in his first season with Well but his form dipped badly in the period leading up to Robinson leaving them. Up at Aberdeen, Gallagher and Bates together were like Laurel and Hardy at the back. He’s got a bit of baggage too. Robinson knows him better than any of us though and we need another CB, but wary of who might head away from Paisley up to Aberdeen from us. Would take Gogic before Gallagher.
  21. 500k seems very cheap to me when you compare him to the likes of Ramsay at Aberdeen (although he played more games). Reid has looked quality, especially for his age when he has come in. He has captained the Scottish u16s/u17s? and attracted interest from big clubs abroad. Suppose he’s only worth what teams are prepared to pay for him but he should be a real asset to us either on the pitch or to cash in on.
